Cali girl here *wave* I tried a bunch of different places but couldn't really say any was a favorite. I finally asked my nail tech what her favorite place was and she recommended Pho 37 and she was not wrong. Then I remembered that my nail tech will never leave me astray. I only had to try their pho once to know, THIS IS IT. Then I had to get their Bun Bo Hue, just tomake sure. The triple crown will be their Banh Mi, which I'm excited to try next but so far 5 stars all the way. Best Pho broth and the best Bun Bo Hue that I've found so far in the downtown Vancouver area. I'm sure as you fan outside of the city limits that there are just as good options but I've finally found my go to spot close to work and home after 3 months of living here. A plus plus is the huge portions but I also have to commend the meat to noodle ratio is just perfect. This is a cute little spot on Robson. Don't sleep on this one, ladies and gents. Dine in or dining out, don't forget to ask for the chilli garlic oil and garlic vinegar on the side. These condiments will level up any dish!

The only small issue was that it took a little while before someone came to take my order, and I eventually had to wave someone over. It wasn't a big deal, though, especially considering how busy they were. The portions here are huge, especially for the price. The broth was a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but it was very clean, clear, and flavorful. This is what I look for in a good bowl of pho. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had a nice soft texture. I ordered a combination bowl. My only suggestion would be a bit more of tripe and tendon. The tripe was a little sparse, and I honestly didn't realize I had tendon until I was almost finished with the bowl. But I like those, and not a lot of people do. Despite the restaurant being packed, the staff was stayed attentive, kept food coming out quickly, and did a great job taking care of everyone. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming. There was a nice mix of people. Some quietly watching videos on their phones, others catching up over conversation. It felt like the kind of neighborhood spot that attracts everyone. Overall, this is a convenient, affordable place with good pho and generous portions. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely come back. .

Went in for lunch with my granddaughter, both of us fans of Vietnamese food. Ordered Green Papaya Salad ($12), Lemongrass Chicken on Vermicelli with one spring roll ($17), one lime soda ($6.50) and one pop ($3). Food arrived within minutes of ordering. Portions were very generous. The salad was perfect with everything very fresh, as it should be but often isn't in some places. Plump prawns and the scent and taste of basil was prominent. Delicious! The lemongrass chicken (we ordered extra chicken) with a spring roll was also very generous. We did not finish it between the two of us. Again, all was fresh, tasty and hot. This is one of our standard orders and Pho Goodness did not disappoint. Granddaughter declared it better than at our regular favourite, and Pho Goodness is around the corner from her home and not a bus ride out to Kingsway! Service was friendly and responsive. We asked that the volume be turned off on the massive TV over our heads (which nobody was watching) (it was), requested a glass for the pop and immediately received a tumbler full of ice. Lovely. We have found a new favourite on Davie Street, a true foodie heaven with a collection of independent restaurants of many ethnicities available. We will return to Pho Goodness when the urge for Vietnamese food strikes again.

Inside, the gentle lighting and clean, calming interior felt like a quiet exhale, the kind of stillness you only notice after coming in from the cold. The Curry Laksa arrived first, a bright yellow curry filled with broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy, vegan shrimp, kale noodles, mushrooms, and coconut milk. On a wet night, it looked like exactly the kind of bowl you want waiting for you. The broth offered a mild, familiar comfort, although it leaned watery and left the dish feeling more like soup with noodles than a proper laksa. The broccoli and cauliflower had that unmistakable frozen texture, taking away some of the freshness you hope for from such a vegetable heavy bowl. It wasn't bad, but it felt muted. A dish that seemed to promise plenty of character on arrival never quite found its spark. The smoked eggplant, however, was another story. An entire eggplant arrived beautifully tender, smoky and rich, almost like a prized cigar translated into food. It came with Impossible meat, peanuts, salino, and dried shallot, creating a combination of textures that kept each bite interesting. The menu mentioned a pineapple sauce, but if it was there, it had mastered the art of disappearing. Whatever was on the plate, the eggplant itself was the star. Then came the Hestia Saffron Curry, and suddenly the evening found its rhythm. Thick, fragrant, and unapologetically flavourful, this was the kind of curry that doesn't simply fill your stomach. It settles somewhere deeper. The saffron shavings melted into the golden sauce, lending it a warm, aromatic sweetness, while the sticky rice arrived in its own tiny pot, almost ceremonially. Every bite felt deliberate and comforting. Of everything we tried, this was easily the standout. The room itself added to the experience. The lighting was thoughtful, the service friendly, and the menu broad enough to reward a little curiosity. As someone who isn't vegan, I don't always leave a plant based meal feeling genuinely full. Here, I did. When we eventually stepped back into the Vancouver rain and headed toward the festival lights, the cold felt a little less intrusive. We were warm, satisfied, and already wondering what would be worth ordering on the next visit.

The Garden Rolls were absolutely the #1 worst ones we've ever eaten! We've had hundreds of fresh rolls at dozens of places and sadly, none were as tasteless as these. They consisted of noodles, a bit of flavorless tofu and cucumber. Fresh rolls MUST have at least one or more of the following: fresh mint, fresh cilantro or fresh Thai Basil. Hestia's had NONE!. To add insult to injury, the watery sauce also had NO flavor. To add more insult, they were baggy and poorly wrapped and the innards kept falling out. Not fun and definitely not good. The king oyster mushrooms were very good, but there was a ton of pink mayo dousing it. I would have preferred the sauce be in a separate bowl so we could choose how much dipping we'd like to do. The saffron tofu bowl was sensational! Perfectly spiced and full of a huge variety of well-cooked veggies plus the saffron rice was good too. No one came during our meal to ask if we needed anything or to ask how our meal was. The customer service is in need of some work.

They have a…read moresizeable vegetarian section of the menu, including a vegetarian (vegan) noodle soup with veggies and tofu. My wife and I stopped in for dinner one evening and each ordered the aforementioned noodle soup--she got a small ($11.75 plus tax) and I got a regular ($12.75 plus tax). We also got an order of salad rolls ($7.50 plus tax), which comes with 2 rolls. The rolls came quite late. They were pretty standard, coming with fried tofu, vermicelli, and lettuce. The peanut dipping sauce was on the liquidy, salty soy sauce side of things -- I wish it were creamier and less salty. 3/5 The soups were decent. The broth was peppery, with some nice, gentle spices detectable in there. I asked for a side of chili oil, which helped amplify the broth. You get a generous portion of noodles, fried tofu, and vegetables (broccoli, bok choy, carrot). Unfortunately the veggies were quite overcooked -- the broccoli was almost soggy, so were the carrots and bok choy. 3/5 All in all, middle-of-the-road veggie pho. The broth is pleasant. The veggies were overcooked, but plentiful and nicely chosen. Decent place for veggie pho.
