We decided to eat at this restaurant because of the high rating. We were able to get a table for two immediately because there was an open table outside but it was very cramped. The food isn't good. Below average. I had the seafood risotto which was very salty and the shrimp wasn't deveined. It still had a ton of black stuff inside its vein. My son had the pasta with meat sauce which he said he could make a better one. Tried their house white wine which was awful too. Tourist trap. read more

We got lucky this evening! The restaurant was entertaining a very large group right before opening fully for the 7 PM crowd, but my wife and I managed to sneak in a table around 6:40 PM. The owner -- a true gentleman -- called us back in and found us a spot, and that turned out to be an amazing call. Dinner was fantastic. We were served by a Cuban waiter (unfortunately, I missed his name), who took great care of us. We both ordered the same main dish -- chicken limone with roasted potatoes -- and I added the fresh homemade pasta on the side. What a combination! The bread was delicious too; I couldn't resist setting up my own olive oil, Parmesan, and cracked black pepper dipping plate. This place is an absolute gem and definitely a tough one to get into. Terrific restaurant. Traveling with 4 couples, we came without a reservation and were accommodated by the owner and his grandson with a semi-private table. 3 of us ordered pizzas (large and delicious) and the others ordered meals. All of the food was outstanding and the owner and his grandson Luigi stopped by to check on us and entertain us regularly. After dessert they provided complimentary limoncello that was also terrific. So far it's the best restaurant I've tried in Amalfi. The prosciutto with bread and mozzarella was a 10/10 without a doubt! As for the grilled sea bass it wasn't anything to write home about but it was still really good, just wish it came with more portions. We tried for two days to have dinner here. If you can make reservations it definitely helps. Inside the restaurant is smoke/vapor free and has a table fee. It is worth it because the outside seating is right on the roadway, bustling with people and motor vehicles. Our waiter was Gregorio. He was tall, fast and efficient. He made our dinner special. Although the menu is traditional with several courses, we opted for a smaller meal. The salad is big enough for two people to share and had loads of mixed greens, fresh olives, tomatoes and carrots. We ordered the Tramonti (pizza) and it was unbelievable. The sausage was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant and be ready to enjoy a perfect dining experience. Prego! read more

I'm writing this review after 8 days in Italy having tried food from Positano, Naples, Sorrento, and Rome and I can say the best pizza we have had during this trip is from this location. We immediately grabbed an outdoor table here on a slightly rainy afternoon and were very happy with our decision. This little restaurant is nestled in the main walkway in Amalfi and perfect for anyone stopping into the town. We dined at Da Maria on May 22, 2025. We have visited Amalfi 8 or 9 times and somehow missed dining at Da Maria. Tonight we shared the Scialiatelli with clams, mussels, shrimp. We also shared the house special of calamari, shrimp and baccala with lightly fried, super thin sliced vegetables. We usually don't order fried food but since it was a signature dish we felt we should try it. The batter on the fried seafood was the lightest ever and both dishes were excellent. Additionally, the prices were very fair for the quantity and quality of the food. We would recommend Da Maria in Amalfi without hesitation. read more

Tucked inside Amalfi past the cathedral is where this restaurant is located. When we came they weren't serving pizza unfortunately. That's their speciality so I can't really comment on it. We had the pasta dishes and they were Average in flavor and presentation. There's a lot of dining space inside though and clean bathrooms so not an unpleasant experience. read more

We had the two-person seafood appetizer - everything from fried anchovies (unbelievably good), smoked swordfish carpaccio, to a couple of different kinds of polpo (octopus). Wow. This is probably the best restaurant in Amalfi hands down. They have a great menu and authentic Italian food. The family is Italian but speak English which was great. The waiters are great looking Italian men. Luigi was our waiter and was the most helpful and friendly waiter! He took pictures with us and for us and offered to help in any way. He also helped with picking great options on the menu. They have a brick oven fit the pizzas which come out wonderful! Highly recommend if you are staying in Amalfi or fit a bite to eat in the center of town. It's right next to the beautiful church with the long staircase. Found this restaurant rated great on yelp and we couldn't agree more. Five of us stopped in for lunch and our waiter was to friendly and helpful. Sat us at the perfect table looking outside but cool inside. My husband and I shared the seafood platter appetizer and it was amazing with so many various kinds of seafood. My friend has pasta with shrimp and it was delicious with home made pasta in a scamp type of sauce. The salad and pizza were also very good. Cute place to have lunch read more

Truly efficient and warm staff serving simple but delicious variations of what you'd expect from a solid ristorante. Try the Amalfi Lemon Spritz to cool off. Their pizzas are flavorful and creative - so many to choose from. Our table also had the ravioli with Bolognese as well as a chicken dish that was so tender. Recommended by the staff at Villa Maria Luigia we found it easily in the heart of the Amalfi town. My wife was looking for rigatoni in a cream sauce and we found it here. Fresh mushrooms with the best sauce ever. I ordered the Catalina pizza ham, mozzarella, onions and I ended up sharing my pizza because we both agreed it was the BEST pizza we have ever eaten in our lives. Her pasta was exceptional and the portions are huge. Sitting on the street enjoying the passers by as we sipped beer and wine in Italy. Come on, this place is the dream you have of Italy. The servers speak wonderful English and if you try your Italian they will help out with that too. Don't miss this place! The waiter came to us a total of 2 times all night and as soon as we finished eating the waiter brought us our check like he was trying to get rid of us (this is the first time I have ever been brought my check without asking in Italy). The first time he came to our table he asked for our order, drinks and food. Luckily we knew what we wanted because we had been sitting there for awhile. Oh my, Da Maria is good. My friend and I stayed in Amalfi for four days, and we were recommended to go here by a local. The pizza is delicious!! We also tried the seafood pasta, but the pizza surpassed it in taste. We ended up going to Da Maria four times, trying a different flavor every time, and every pizza was amazing. I still dream of this pizza! However, one of the waiters was going around telling Americans that Trump will be a great president. I think he meant no harm and was trying to make conversation, but spreading misinformation like that is dangerous... it was very for odd for not just my table, but the American couple next to us, who said they wanted to pretend to be Canadian so they wouldn't have to engage in a conversation about politics. If it wasn't for this, I would've given this place 5 stars, but waiters just can't go around expressing their political views, especially if they don't know much about what they're talking about.. read more
