Last night I threw one of my best friends a wedding here 8/28/2015. We used the venue for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The venue is just so beautiful in so many ways. I was her wedding planner and the attentiveness of the staff was more than I could have ever asked for. Anything that I needed or requested was for more than my expectations. Antonio made sure that everything was how I wanted it for my bride. The bridal attendant Braha met everyone of my needs as well as the bride's needs when she arrived as well as the groom, being the fact that he got dressed in the bridal suite before the bride arrived. My maître d' Shoh was so great with setting up the reception to my exact specifications. Everything on my list was met. And finally my floor manager Rueben he came through in the final hour when I needed him most. The candles I had for the ceremony were not all staying lit so he went quickly and added more lighting right before my bride was set to walk down the aisle. I'm not sure what the bad reviews are stating but the top shelf liquor we had for our open bar were top shelf. No one's glass was ever empty from water, juice or soda. There was an abundance of food that never ran out. Dessert came out at about 11:30 and the wedding ended at 1:00am. All the guests raved about the food, rapid supply or liquor and the beauty of the space. I already have a guest of the wedding who wants to plan her upcoming wedding here. From the cleanliness to the friendly staff. We met with Antonio and Aliya, they were both friendly and showed just as much enthusiasm for our big day. Aliya gave us a walk through of the 2 venues they have to offer and patiently answered our long list of questions and provided us with some suggestions as well. Please DO NOT book this place! The hosts provide different information and are BEYOND rude on the phone, let alone in person. It is also difficult to find someone to communicate with in person. The place was double booked on the day of my event and we were told we could begin setting up at 12 then 1 and we winded up waiting in the back alley way with our materials until 4 o clock. When we began to set up, people from the previous event were still eating and the venue was still being cleaned up until the final moments of our event. I went here to speak to Antonio about potentially having my winter wedding in this location. Everywhere else across the board charges a bit less in the winter for weddings but Antonio claims it's the same price year round. Strange but okay we let it slide. But when he refused to let us have our wedding on a weekday I was honestly floored. He has no right to tell us what day we can have our wedding. That makes no sense and frankly none of his damn business. It was almost as if he didn't want us to have a wedding there at all or he could just be a terrible salesman. There was a lot of nonsense spewed and the prices were ludicris. They also never showed us one room and showed us the other as a party was happening in it. Antonio is a racist! My brother and I came in one afternoon to gather information for his upcoming wedding and the reception we received was horrible. First and foremost staff and guest were not wearing mask ( there were three events going on that day). We were advised to speak to Antonio. He was not happy we showed up. He asked us how we got in. He said he was leaving for the day but stood by the door talking to another colleague. My brother apologized for coming in without an appointment and asked for a card and said he could come back. With a flippant attitude he said come into his office real quick. As we walked to his office We told him our church has had several events there and we were recommended by our Pastor. So then he asked abruptly what can I do for you guys. You know our price you know what are space looks like. He didn't care to go over anything or even give us a booklet. My brother told him he was getting married and wanted to book by the weekend. He asked for the date and when my brother told him he wanted it for a Saturday he quoted us $9000+ for 50 ppl ( their "COVID special" is $135 per person) and quickly said of we cannot afford it. How do you know what we can and cannot afford Antonio? You don't know what my brother and I do for a living ? You barely wanted to speak to us. My brother and I knowingly looked at each other and said okay and left. As we walked out of his office he went back to talk to talking to his colleague by her office. I guess he wasn't in such a rush. The only saving grace was this man who held the door for us and helped us find parking. Idk his name but sir thank you for treating us with dignity and respect that's owed to every human being. My church and all the other churches affiliated with us will no longer be using this hall. Planning a wedding can be one of the most stressful and time consuming thing you can do. Ilya makes this the most joyful and easiest event you will ever plan. We came in not really knowing where to start and where to find people. We met with him and don't let him fool you he takes a personal interest in you and your event. Ilya guided us to who we need and even gave us his recommendations and suggestions and was genuinely honest about we needed and what we didn't (we went to another vendor and the ladies goal was clear she just wanted money). He was able to get us in contact with people we would have never have gotten without him. Any issue we had, he came in and helped by either speaking with the vendor or finding another vendor. If we had any worries or concerns about the event, Ilya did everything to put at ease including allowing us to try the food and see an event take place the event. I had special requests and almost all requests were fulfilled, including having a none- traditional salad (It was awesome). The chef listened to our concerns and asked questions. Most chefs just nod and say ok, but he asked, if we want something with some spice or no spice. Ilya and chef genuinely cared about the food he was serving at our wedding. My wedding was on November 19th. Since the wedding, people still talk about it complementing everything from the food to the venue itself. Ilya help make this one of the best day in our lives. We will be coming back for more events; because with Ilya we aren't just putting an event together we are celebrating something great. . read more

I don't understand how one can have a kosher kitchen or kosher party in a place with a total of four kitchens, mostly nonkosher. We know for a fact there has been a documented mixup of kosher and nonkosher equipment, and they only have one mashgiach supervising. I had my wedding here 8/15/15 and it was gorgeous. From the flowers to the food to the super helpful wedding attendant everything was really top notch. I had gotten a package with entertainment/flowers/wedding invites, etc to make the day run smoothly. Inna created awesome flowers. The food was great; although the day was so hectic I only sampled a few things. I chose family style eating and I'm happy I did because there was a parade of tasty food and a beautiful viennese station. My wedding cake by Master Sweets was amazing! You really had to stay on top of ALL of the details with the owner Ilya but he was very nice about it. My band Prestige Band with host Lenya sounded awesome. The one that stole the show was the male singer; unfortunately I didn't have the female singer from the band but the male one made up for it. I'm not sure why there are 1 star reviews. Ilya is very involved and cares about each event. For example, the day of my wedding my mom became upset because she lost her paper with her speech. Ilya saw her being upset on the video feed in his office and asked her what was wrong. He was able to print out the speech much to her relief. I would totally recommend this place. read more

I had my wedding here last month and it was everything my husband and I hoped for and more. They went above and beyond to fulfill all of our desires and I couldn't be more happier. My school held our Prom here. It was booked because the students recommended it from attending a sweet 16 here last summer. The booking was easy and the manager was very nice and helpful. The inside of this place is beautiful! The food was great. The salads were out when we first arrived which was nice to be able to eat while waiting for the main courses. The manager during the event was very attentive. The service was excellent. The food was great! There was more than enough food available. The diet soda machine was not working, and the bartender was not able to get any from building, but other than that everything was amazing. I had my wedding here a year ago and I still can't get over what a beautiful place but such an a rude manager that runs this place. Apt get me wrong, the other staff are super sweet and accommodating however the manager Antonio is a real #%€'. I had a time crunch for my wedding as I got engaged in December and needed to be married by June as my husband wasn't sure where he'd get his residency. When I saw this place online and called for a quote I was blown away at how perfect this place was. It was my perfect dream venue and I could be the princess I always wanted to be on my wedding day. We booked and were promised a contract with everything included. Before even signing we told each venue we would require outside catering and an indoor fire as I am Hindu. This seemed fine and as my date got closer, I was told there would be a kitchen fee (not mentioned in my contract) of $1000 plus rental fee of kitchen (even if my chef brought his own supplies and didn't touch a thing of theirs) of $800. The wedding was originally thought to be outside but we were told if needed we could have indoors at no additional cost. When we opted for that we were told there was an extra $1000 for using another floor of the venue, plus $1000 for setup staff etc. as I'm sure you can see there was a pattern here and my parents were afraid to ask if bathrooms were covered as we would be slapped an additional pee tax not on our contract. All in all our wedding day came and our Maitre de, bridal attendant (Barbara) and a young gentleman were super great on the day of and took care of every worry we had including my outfit needed hemming. Barbara fixed it like she had worked with indian outfits all her life, and with such a delicate material as lace she was epic!! But I wouldn't not recommend this to any bride as weddings are stressful and expensive enough so use your money wisely and get a venue that doesn't have a douche for a manager that nickels and dimes you every step of the way looking to rob you as your special day is right around the corner and you have no other option. I had my wedding in Illagio on June 15th 2016. Cocktail hour was beautiful. I was able to pick all different kind of food station. They provided an ice sculpture with my wife and I initials. They also had beautiful fruit carving in shapes of flowers. We had our ceremony outdoors in the terrace, which had beautiful lighting. They allowed us to have fireworks and smoke machine during our ceremony. Service throughout the night was great. We were being taken care of by multiple people. I couldn't ask for a better place. The main dinning courses were above and beyond, food was delicious and cooked prefect. I can only say good things about my experience. read more

I had my wedding there this July. While the place is gorgeous, they need to work on a lot of things, especially since we paid for 160 people. There were not enough hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail. There was no bar outside during cocktail hour and they told me several times that there would be a full bar during the cocktail. The cocktail reception on the terrace was also changed on my event date, and I was never told this. The table napkins were two different colors, some were aqua and some were ivory. There was no champagne during the toast, and every venue offers a champagne toast. Many of my family members complained that there food was rare when they had asked for well done. I asked for water five times and had to go to the bar to get it myself because the bridal attendant was never around. The security guard had vodka shots while on the job. The cake was changed on us along with the filling. I was told that they could replicate any cake. The cake was completely different. This really upset me the most. They also changed the filling and we were never told. There was no milk for the coffee. There was not enough cake for everyone. My husband's side of the family did not get any cake. I am not recommending this venue. read more

Really lacking in customer service and I haven't even booked anything. I sent a website inquiry and got a response stating "Please feel free to contact us for any additional information, such as customized menus, different rates and full tour of the property." Which was annoying because I took the time to put my questions in my inquiry and they didn't answer it so I brought it to their attention. I was then sent a bunch of pdfs, which didn't include information regarding beverage packages nor did it include entree information regarding things other than fish or steak. I sent an email on July 10th, inquiring about the beverage packages, other entree options, do they do packages more than 5 hours and if they have experience with South Asian weddings. To this day, still no response. Very short ended and dismissive responsive, if you get one at all. If I can't get an answer for simple questions within a month now, I don't want to risk that kind of treatment during my wedding. Me and my 300 guest will look elsewhere as a lot of my family is travelling from really far and I want to be sure to give them the best experience and top notch service. Honestly there's many reviews here from actual clients that held their events here the ones who don't even get to experience the guest side of the party but a few weeks ago me and my fiancé almost booked this place for our wedding with Antonio because it looked beautiful and the price they were giving us was insane for what it seemed to be was going to be amazing but thank god we came to a party here and experienced the guest side which I can tell you was not good. Our waiter we tipped about 5 times and he still treated us like crap. He has a horrible attitude and mean face the whole time. We would call his name "Gary" and he would look at us dead in the eye and pretend he didn't hear us. He forgot to serve us our main course and when we finally hunted him down and asked him for it he gave us cold steak and chicken. I worked in the food business so I am not exaggerating. It was horrible. The food LOOKS nicer than it tastes from appetizers to actual dinner. I drank about 10 drinks and didn't even get a buzz so I'm guessing they mix their liquor with water. All I can say is I'm glad we didn't book this place for our wedding it was a horrible experience as a guest at someone else's party. All the exterior stuff makes the place LOOK good but the truth is they have horrible service and horrible food. Don't book this place trust me there's way better places out there. read more

Place was beautiful when you walked in but when we sat down with the very nice woman to speak about it she mentioned they only cater to weddings for 250-800 guest. Now on the website it ask how many ppl you plan on having& I received a phone call the same day I emailed asking about how many ppl I plan on having & everything. So We all the way from brooklyn a 45 min drive to this place only to wait 10 mins to be told we cant help you, they than directed us to some run down catering hall that looked like and I quote from my fiancé "a restaurant" which it did. I was a bit nervous at first about the food, especially after reading some of the reviews, however, everyone said that the food was delicious. This seems to be the hottest banquet hall in the NYC metro area right now. As mentioned in my previous review, the place is majestic and continues to be spotless. I have been to several parties here in as many months and was always pleased. To make it better, each event was catered in a different style and/or menu, making each visit unique and fun. This time around, it was a communion party and we had the Russian style menu. For those of you who are used to the typical and predictable sit down dinner, the Russian menu is an endless surprise of non-stop food. There are various salads, hot and cold selections served virtually every 20-30 minutes throughout the duration of the event. With the wide variety of servings, there is always something for everyone to enjoy. This menu is also served "family style", so its up to you what you choose to eat and how much- definitely not cookie cutter style. Even the standard sit dinner here is not standard, the portions are HUGE. a birthday party back in the early spring, I ordered the combined steak and chicken entre, which I found almost impossible to finish in one sitting. The steak was perfectly prepared, juicy and very tender with a subtle hint of the right seasoning, which hit the taste buds just right. I continue to enjoy the service and hospitality of the waiters and waitresses, which poured drinks for us and the other guests right at the table, no need to go the bar - the bar comes to you at Da Mikele Illagio. Not only was the table service great, the vodka was Grey Goose and the whisky was Jack Daniels, all premium stuff. For those looking for wine instead of spirits, there were multiple choices as well. Naturally each party differs, as it is the hosts who select the menu, so you get what you pay for; luckily my friends and family go top shelf with their packages, so I get to experience the best that Da Mikele Illagio has to offer.
