So I have had pretty bad to severe lower back problems for the past 25 years. I can't believe it took that long to find relief. Dr. Yang is the absolute BEST acupuncturist I have ever been to see. It is not true what they say - not all acupuncturists are created equal. I have recently moved here from Florida and I was very happy with the acupuncture doctor I had there. I just didn't know any better. Now I do. Since living in Los Angeles, I haven't had much need for treatment, until I hurt myself again (doing something stupid -of course). I have seen Neurosurgeons, Chiropractors, Holistics, and Acupuncturists. Dr. Yang just knows what's up with your body. I trust him completely with any and all remedies for ANY AILMENT. He will tell you if you need to see a specialist about something more complicated or if you need x-rays / scans. He's not out to make a quick buck. He REALLY cares about getting you healthy and living a good quality of life. He doesn't speak much English but Vivian is amazing at translating the information to Dr. Yang when you are talking to him. Speaking of, Vivian is wonderful and she makes you feel very comfortable before, during, and after your visits. On 2/8/2010, I woke up with the right side of my face paralyzed, unable to blink or see clear out of the right eye, and with the worst pain ever experienced over the neck and right side of the face. Immediately I saw a chiropractor but the treatment worsen my condition. The following day I saw my MD who diagnosed me with Bell's palsy To my dismay she said that there was nothing she could do for this condition, that 80% of the patients recovered in about four months on their own, the other 20% remained with signs of the paralysis permanently. 07/09/2011 I started visiting Dr. Yang's office a couple years ago, and I have found not only great medical treatment, but new friends. I suffered from scoliosis, having a curvature in my back that is more pronounced than normal. The physician that my doctor recommended me to said that only surgery could correct it. Dr. Yang saw my x-rays and assured me that he could improve my scoliosis by simple acu-therapy. In a few months time, my back straightened dramatically. My experience at Dr. Yang's office over the past year has been nothing less than wonderful. I made a trip to the office after my previous doctor told me that my scoliosis was bad and I was beyond the point of fixing unless I had surgery. I explained my predicament to Vivian, Dr. Yang's wife and translating receptionist, and Dr. Yang said that he'd be able to help. After a few months, the curvature in my spine was halved. Each trip, I enter the small, clean office and tell the doctor of my issue, whether it be sinus congestion or stress or skin issues, and he puts the necessary needles in. I experience minimal discomfort (this means a lot as I have a fear of needles), he attaches an electrical impulse to the needles, and puts a heat lamp on. After about a half hour, he removes the needles and gives me a thorough massage. I feel comfortable with him and, though we don't speak the same language, he communicates well. Dr. Yang saved my wrist. Last August 2010, I severely injured my wrist in martial arts training. I could barely move my wrist properly after this injury. I was told by a wrist specialist that it might require surgery if it didn't heal properly. As a professional artist/animator and a martial artist I need my wrist to work and needed to regain mobility faster than 12 weeks. I decided to give acupuncture a try. I have been treated successfully several times by Dr. Yang for various painful conditions. His treatments included heat, electro-acupuncture, and massage. There was time I injured my right shoulder, and it was extremely painful and difficult to move. After several appointments and following Dr. Yang's aftercare instructions, it was good as new.
