Absolutely life-changing! This is a review long overdue but very well-deserved. I cannot recommend Dr. Eric Wong highly enough! He is a truly skilled acupuncture/chiropractic practitioner who was able to identify some of my ailments without me even telling him! His knowledge and skill sets helped me tremendously. After years of avoiding eating raw sushi due to excruciating stomach pain, I had nearly given up hope of ever enjoying it again. Every attempt would leave me curled up in discomfort until Dr. Wong, with his acupuncture skills, cured me. After several treatments, I tried raw sushi with hesitation and ate just a little bit so that I do not experience the excruciating pain I once felt. However, after realizing that my stomach did hurt, I started to allow myself to eat more and more of it. This last weekend was the ultimate test as I ate at an all you can eat sushi place... and no stomach pain! Amazing!!! In addition, Dr. Wong helped alleviate my tearing eyes. Prior to acupuncture, for over ten years, my eyes leaked tears and/or mucus and got infected almost every other week. Thus, I had to take antibiotics almost every other week and got sick frequently. This review is a long overdue. I've seen Dr. Wong on and off for 7 years (since he was at a different office). He came recommended from a friend who was in a serious auto accident. He had been treated by five other acupuncturists he wasn't happy with any of them before finding Dr. Wong. I have fibromyalgia and suffer from chronic muscle spasms that cause debilitating pain in various areas of my body. I first went to him for my neck and shoulders. While I was there, he asked if I had other pain and I mentioned my lower back had been in in a constant ache for 10 years, despite seeing various specialists and doing rounds and rounds of non-effective PT. I had accepted that I had to live with back pain. I was shocked when Dr. Wong told me the stretches I had learned from PT were actually harming the supportive ligaments in my spine and to stop immediately. After several months of weekly treatments, my back pain was gone. Five years later, it hasn't returned. Priceless. As both a licensed chiropractor and acupuncturist, he is highly knowledgeable and skilled. He has also repeatedly helped with my neck/shoulders. The resulting cervical pain creates intense headaches. I've had cupping, regular and electronic acupuncture, cervical manipulation, etc. He can also help with Chinese herb recommendations. Moreover, Dr. Wong has a passion for his work--you can tell he's not just in it for the money--but he's interested in the field and really cares about helping people in pain. The beginning of healing....I was in terrible pain right in the corner of my inner shoulder blade which radiated thru my neck and front collar bone. I couldn't take a deep breath, walk or sleep without the constant pain. Subsequently, I received some help from my Physical Therapist, Scott who is amazing, knowledgeable, and patient, yet firm. Scott worked with my pain, but he didn't stop there he referred me to Dr. Wong who's expertise could further benefit me. Dr. Wong used several techniques throughout my treatment to bring my body back to a "stable" state which is dull pain. I really enjoyed my interactions and able to ask a lot of questions in which Dr. Wong answered in confidence. The uniqueness I found in his practice is the combination of western and eastern treatment. Please note even with all my utmost gratefulness for both practitioners, be warned both physical and chiropractic treatments came with intense pain and at the same time relief. I had a super frustrating experience here. I am a new mom and I have been experiencing back and neck pain, so I was looking for a chiropractor. I called this place after being told they were under my insurance plan, and made an appointment. Dr. Wong picked up the phone and said he will only see me for 5 visits and that I'll feel better...this was without even asking me anything about severity, the cause, nothing at all. I thought that was a bit sketchy but okay whatever! Regardless, I went in...my first visit was pretty good...Dr. Wong was nice and he did talk alot...maybe more talking then treatment. He did a lot of manual technique, which was effective. But he kept pushing me to do acupuncture even if I didn't like the needles. And kept talking about billing. He even asked if I could be billed on two different days..meaning two copays. I told him no. That was a bit shady. As he adjusted me, he said, "This is $11 from insurance." I get that if he takes insurance patients that it's not as high pay as an out of pocket patient. He made me feel guilty the whole session about not putting in a needle and it was getting annoying. It was super awkward. Then, I get a call from the receptionist after I left and she forgot to collect payment. She wanted me to come back or have me wait for her to come downstairs (I had already left). After all this, I came back in for my second appointment today (on time at 5:15 pm) and he came out 15 min later and asked if his assistant had told me to come in at 6:00 pm. I told him no and asked if it is going to be a problem. He told me he would try to finish quicker. I heard him laughing, taking his time and not at all trying to be done anytime soon. After 45 minutes of waiting, I decided to leave. I scheduled my day based on this appointment and I felt like my time wasn't respected. I left feeling irritated with this whole situation. Dr. Wong from Envitae Health is probably the most patient doctor I have ever had! I have been suffering from neck and shoulder pain for a long period of time, and had been getting treatment through my medical provider through my medical network. I discovered Eric as a referral from a friend. I came with acute lower back pain that doctors at Stanford hospital prescribed me three different painkillers, 3 times a day, to resolve my pain, which also did not resolve my mobility issues. I broke a metatarsal doing a front flip on my snowboard at high speeds. This twisted and sprained both the top and bottom of my foot badly in addition to the fracture.
