I was always skeptical but then I had some issue with a twitching eyebrow and he poked me with a few needles and after two sessions it was gone. He mentioned it was something to do with my liver and between session 1 and 2, I threw up bile in the morning. Dr. Chen was recommended to me by a friend who has tried many acupuncturists throughout the state and said he was the best. He is not judgmental, has great bedside manner and makes you feel comfortable. He actually cares about his patients and listens to your concerns. Needles are scary to me but honestly I don't even feel most of them when Dr. Chen does his treatment. I have seasonal allergies and have not been able to breathe through my nose for many years. In one visit he was able to treat the issue and I was able to breathe through my nose for the whole weekend!! Of course I understand it's about the process but I have noticed a better quality of breathing since I've started treatment. My 13-yr old daughter recently complained that her knee was hurting. No visible bruise and she didn't remember bumping her knee. She said it was painful to go up/down the stairs. I took her to Dr. Chen. After the treatment, the pain was gone! It's been over 2 months and she hasn't mentioned her knee pain. The treatment was relatively painless as well. Dr. Chen was able to pinpoint the source of the pain and his touch was so gentle that one can barely feel the needles. Then, I took my 85-year old mother to see Dr. Chen. My mom has a chronic back pain. She wasn't sure if Dr. Chen can help, but she's tried steroid shots and it didn't work. I'e gone to at least 8 acupuncturists incl. in San Francisco over the years. Dr. Jeremy has the best touch with needles by far! (Surprising to me, because I assumed women would have a more delicate touch, lol) He is able to insert needles deeply with far less pain into sensitive spots (which seem to be the most effective areas), such as in the ear, toe web, wrist and stomach 36 which usually hurts like a b***! My favorite treatment that he does is when I'm sleepless or stressing out, he's able to drain my 'worry' head energy by putting needles on top of my ears and then puts 4 or 5 in the top of my head! Those ones are like a nice massage for my brain (and is apparently ALSO good for growing hair in the area my partner told me is balding ) Anyways you can be confident that you're going to the best of the best here! I'm picky with my practitioners...like everything else...but the results speak for themselves! Dr. Chen is amazing. My family and I trust him and have been going here over 1+ year and he's very flexible with appts (Weekends or later appt time). I have sciatic, neck and low back pain. Dr Chen is always able to relieve my pain. My neck pain will go away as fast as 15 mins after suffering for weeks. Even my 3x a week chiropractor appts couldn't help with my neck or back pain. Dr. Chen has been amazing so far. I was referred here by my chiropractor and currently getting acupuncture. He's super personable, accommodating and knowledgeable. He listens very well to all your problem and makes sure he doesn't do anything that you're not comfortable with. I didn't buy into this acupuncture stuff until I started getting treatment. My first time for a acupuncture. Speaking from my experience. When I first walked in Jeremy asked me all the right question as to what I came in for. I have sciatic pain. As i explained he would talk me through what's going on and what he will be doing step by step. He made me feel safe as my first time and assured it will be easy session.
