Chicken Curry Katsu
Joshua B.

Soooooo good, makes your mouth water! This is my favorite place in Rexburg to eat now. My wife convinced me to go with some friends. We all split some sushi and of course when I saw the curry katsu I couldn't resist. Any time we go on a date night now one of us mentions Da Pineapple Grill! Give it a shot, you won't regret it.

I would give this place infinity stars!! So impressioned!!! Came here on the reviews from Google. Its definetly a diamond in the rough. Friendly servers, amazing food & fun inviting music!! I got miso soup that was so good, I'm gonna have to try and make it like that. I also got the curry that reminded me of my childhood. Bro-in-law got fries that were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We ordered to-go food for the next day too. I'm very glad that we were able to find this diamond.

The sushi roll pieces we got.

Their Hawaiian food is ok, and their sushi is ok but pricy for the quality. It's Rexburg, so you can't expect much for either.

The sushi was good, but time and again the service was insanely slow. Allot a couple hours to dine here if you think it's worth the wait.

I would give this place 5 stars but the service is slow on occasion. The food is REALLY good and the environment enjoyable.

We ate here for the first time a couple months ago and I regret that we didn't do it sooner. I…read moreordered the combo plate with misoy chicken and kalua pork. Absolutely delicious and you get a ton of food, enough for me to have a leftover meal. My husband ordered the Lani ono tacos and honestly they were the yummiest, most unexpected like for us. That's actually what I've ordered the two other times since then we've gone. Sooo good!!! I don't know what the sauce is they put on it but delicious! We also tried their smoothies and they're so refreshing and tasty. I can easily say this is one of my new favorite, go-to spots. Here's my take. Instead of comparing their food to whatever other restaurants may have something similar, be open to their take on Hawaiian food. I think they've hit the nail to be their own unique flavors and food. (As someone who's tried other places and been to Hawaii.) When in doubt, order the Lani Ono tacos. And get 3. Haha. oh, and our kids loved it too.

Do NOT go to this place. My friends and I just moved out here and came in hoping to have a new spot…read moreto go to when we're feeling homesick but boy was I wrong. The food came out cold and when we went to talk to someone to reheat it, the person was incredibly rude about it. We didnt even ask to remake it, we just asked for it to be heated up a little. On top of it being cold, it seemed like their kalua pig and spam plate was the only thing even remotely Hawaiian about this place. You can imagine my surprise when whats supposed to be bulgogi (a Korean dish) is 60% of the plate. What authentic Hawaiian restaurant has burritos and tacos too? This place is a scam, selling an idea of Hawai'i when its obvious none of these people have even step foot on our soil.

I hate to say it, but I didn't love it…read more To be fair, I was born and raised in Hawai'i and you just can't get anything comparable to home in Idaho Falls. I actually came to the area wanting to try the bbq food truck in the same lot but they happened to be closed. But of course, I hear the music coming from U down Hayn Hot Plate & it reminded me of home....so I made my way over... The young man working the counter was sweet. The customer service was great overall, I definitely can't complain about that. The food, however, was not close to what I expected. The serving size was okay but Hawaiians love their rice. The fact that this plate only came with one scoop threw me off a bit. The mac salad was dry and the macaroni noodles seemed a little oily. This often happens when you don't let the noodles cool completely before adding the mayonnaise, which I can understand if you're in a rush. But, the flavor just wasn't there for me. The chicken katsu was different. Typically, the chicken is pounded & breaded. In this case, the chicken pieces were full on tenders. The katsu sauce was not at all what I'm used to - it's typically an almost gravy-like, sweet and tangy sauce. This tasted like some kind of soy sauce mixture. The mochiko chicken was okay. I had really high hopes but I don't think I'll be rushing back anytime soon.

Stopped by after hearing there was a Hawaiian food truck in town. I ordered the teriyaki and kalua…read morewith a musubi. The meat came with rice and mac salad as well. The meats were great but would have like a little bigger portion of rice, maybe even consider laying a thin bed of rice on the plate first, and then place the meats on top. The mac salad had a little too much garlic which made it hard to finish. The musubi was great and this is likely the only place serving them in the area. I understand they are commonplace in Hawaii but this was first time trying it. Their hours are a little odd so if you're interested in stopping by make sure they'll be open.
