SHAME ON YOU! A…read moreblind man was told to leave his guide dog outside. Twelve years ago, my dear friend began breeding Goldendoodles: to produce dogs capable of changing lives and they did (Many Many Lives) One of those puppies is Ozzy. Ozzy isn't "just a dog." He is a highly trained guide dog by Custom Canines Service Dog Academy who gives his person, Kevin Kraly, the independence that many of us take for granted every single day. He is Kevin's eyes. His partner. His freedom. Recently, Kevin and Ozzy attempted to enter THIS restaurant together. Instead of being welcomed, they were turned away. They were asked for identification for Ozzy. They were told they could only dine outside only there was no outside dining . They were even told Kevin could come inside if he tied Ozzy up outside and left him there. Imagine being told to leave your eyes at the door. Let.that.sink.in. A blind man was told to leave his guide dog outside. Even after the law regarding service animals was shown and explained, entry was still denied. This isn't simply poor customer service. This is a reminder that many people with disabilities still face barriers that should not exist in 2026. The Americans with Disabilities Act protects the right of service dog teams to access businesses open to the public. These protections exist because guide dogs are not pets--they are essential medical assistance animals that allow their handlers to navigate the world safely and independently. No one should have to fight for basic access because they are blind. No one should have to defend the legitimacy of their guide dog. And no one should ever be told to leave their eyes outside.

It was busy at lunchtime on a Friday. The cafe is so cute! Charmingly decorated. We ordered at the counter, took a table number and found our seats. One note about that: being a large person, the seats made me a little nervous. Next time i would opt for booth seating which looked a bit more substantial. Our entrees were brought out before our appetizers, but they looked so good I didn't even care. Couldn't wait to dig in. I had Pho Ga chicken noodle soup. It was served nice and hot with a bowl of raw herbs and add ins. Sprouts, fresh jalapeño slices, a lemon wedge etc. it was so delicious with complex flavors. I finished every drop. Appetizer was pork on a stick. Tender inside, crisp and sweet outside. Two skewers was plenty for us. My daughter had the lemon grass chicken with a fried egg. It looked great, she said it was very good. Our food was appealingly presented, and service was good. We each drank water and our bill was over $36. Not cheap for lunch but not outrageous and quality and portion sizes justified the cost. We will definitely return to try more menu items.

I also love that they offer the Red Bull infusions - not many places do! We also tried pastries and a cookie, they were all good. A big bonus is that they have a drive thru!! It's so hard to find local places that do, which isn't a huge deal, but I love the convenience of it.

It offers a drive thru; however, I'd suggest parking and staying for a bit. Very friendly and helpful staff. They answered our questions about drinks, found us scones, and took quick care of their customer orders. I ordered the large Golden Hour latte with bourbon and caramel syrup. I didn't realize it also included a topping of whipped cream! So, if that's not your thing, make sure to let them know if you'd prefer to skip it. I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. We also took home a couple of blueberry lemon scones. They were okay. The flavor was a bit subtle and I'd likely skip them next time. The menu is robust and they offer several syrups. Plenty of tea packets to pick as well - and if you'd prefer a Red Bull infusion, it's on the menu! Caffeine in all the forms. There's several seats inside and the interior offers a homey vibe. I imagine during nicer weather the patio is popular too. This coffee shop is super close to Iroquois Park - put extra time on your calendar to relax here after a park visit or grab a drink before you head over.
