I absolutely enjoy trying out new tea or boba sports and I'd never heard of The Bep Teahouse before so I decided to go and check them out. Their menu can be a bit overwhelming with their assortment of various teas, machas and boba among others but thankfully the member of staff that was working was very friendly and helpful on letting me now exactly what to expect with each drink that I inquired about. I decided to try their Kyoto Matcha Brulee which is an iced milk tea and it tasted very delicious and not too terribly sweet. The vibe here is very chill with lots of places to sit and also makes for a really great place to bring friends and even a card game or two to play while enjoying a tasty drink. The pricing is pretty on par with what I'd expect of such place with drinks averaging around $6-8 dollars but you do get quite a lot for what you pay for. Amazing and so jealous that my city doesn't home this yummy place. I can't speak to the food, but I have had the Hawaii Sunset and Perfect Peach organic fruit teas (with popping boba). You choose the sweetness level, they use high quality and organic items to make their beverages. They freshly brew their teas each day! And the boba is USA made. So many options!!!! Had to come by and try this place! My sister and I stopped by on an early Saturday afternoon. A few young people here and there and then a family with kids. Lots of tables and seating areas! I saw some college students studying on their laptops. Same furniture as Tous Les Jour. LOL Can't remember the drinks we got but it was good! You can definitely taste the tea. Had to try the food too. We got the spicy popcorn chicken and the fries with Vietnamese cheese powder. Not bad prices for the portion size either! Everything was delicious! The fries weren't super cheesy and the chicken wasn't spicy. I'd say the best popcorn chicken I've had so far from a bubble tea place is Bopomofo. Nothing can quite match theirs. We parallel parked around the corner. Not hard to find. Drinks came out fast! I will add that One of the staff at the register didn't seem happy to be there even though I tried to make small talk. Great shop and my new fav boba place! You had me at Taro Ube milk tea... I can't stay away from that drink! I've also tried the Korean Fresh Strawberry Milk Tea and a few others but I keep going back to Taro Ube. I plan to make it through the entire menu eventually. I'm not sure what that recent 3-star review is talking about with not being able to specify ice/sweetness. You absolutely can here and it's on the menu. I'm guessing someone didn't look at the menu thoroughly. If it's any kind of boba place; You know the drill... drink... sweetness level... ice level... success! Back to the review! The tea is good. WHY couldn't a place like this have been around when I was in college?! I would've lived in it. Every time I've been in, there's almost always... always... younger(what I suspect to be college students) ordering their 5th drink and food before retreating back to their laptop, book, or notebook. I love Boba tea so it's hard for me to write a review on how one isn't good. Luckily this isn't the case here another good spot for Boba on Bardstown Road. Girl working the counter was nice and took our order without complaint. The other guy behind the counter seems to be working very hard and making everyone's drink as they came in one by one. LOVE the tea here. It's creamy as it should be, boba has so much flavor and was so soft. I got the Happy Camp Milk Tea which has crystal boba, boba and pudding. Even the pudding has such good flavor. I really like the boba here. It is a lot higher quality than other boba shops on Bardstown Road (and there certainly are a lot now...). The actually tapioca/boba seems a lot fresher than other places. I don't find the environment particularly inviting to just sit and enjoy my drink in. This place is going to be packed wall to wall come summer time. Its superclean, roomy, and decorated beautifully with lots of aesthetics that are great for social media pictures. I ordered from this restaurant a few days ago and I'm so happy that they are in the neighborhood. I ordered the popcorn chicken and my daughter ordered Parmesan fries. They were all very very good. The sauce that comes with the chicken is absolutely amazing. I also ordered a drink but I can't remember which one it was. I believe it was the tropical one that had the jelly fruit in the bottom, so good and I would so go here again. I can't really speak to the service. However, the food came in a timely manner from DoorDash. It was all still very hot and tasted amazing. The boba was good. The atmosphere was very nice and the space was nicely decorated. I also loved how they played a High School Musical song. My reason for the three star rating is the size of the ice cubes in the drink, the semi confusing numbering system when getting your order, and the lack of customization for your drink. I have no problem getting a normal amount of ice with my drink, but when the ice cubes are so large that I cannot put the straw in, it makes it very difficult to drink without making a mess. I'm unsure if they do this to give you very little tea, but it seems like a bad model. They give the option for no receipt and since it's boba I saw no point in getting one and wasting paper. However, they call out numbers not drink orders or names when your order is ready. So if you are not told your number after ordering you really have to be on lookout for your order. Not a huge issue, just be sure to get your receipt. My last concern with The Bep is the lack of possible customization with your drink. Every boba shop that I've been to allows you to choose your percentage of sweetness (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) and amount of ice (less, regular, extra). The Bep, however, does not let you do that, or at least does that advertise that as an option. I'm wondering if it's due to the fact that this is not a locally owned shop, and they want to save money, but no customization is a dealbreaker for me. In conclusion, The Bep Teahouse is fine. Nothing spectacular, but you will get a nice drink. I would insist on going somewhere local, but that is my opinion. read more
