I used da vine once 6 years ago for a bachelorette party and had an amazing experience with Dennis- he was patient and kind with a group of rambunctious ladies, brought us delicious snacks, and took us to some wonderful wineries. One of those wineries is still my very favorite winery in the world and I am still a wine club member! Flash forward 6 years and I just used da vine tours again yesterday with my husband to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, and some other sundry life milestones. We had, again, an amazing time. There is very little that has not been said about the genuine care, thoughtfulness and attention to detail that Denise puts into every tour. Her professionalism and what I would classify as heartfelt compassion for her clients was immediately evident on my first call to inquire about a booking. A little background about myself, when it comes to travel - I evaluate EVERY possible option. I literally had spreadsheets of the top 10 limo and Driver services, with pricing, pro/cons and relevant notes. I called many of the top companies on Trip Advisor and Yelp, most came across as impersonal or overly schedule/hour oriented - not what I has envisioned for my marriage proposal trip to wine country. I contacted Denise to discuss a private tour following my marriage proposal which was to take place at a winery in Dry Creek (Mounts Family Winery, Amazing!!) . After spending 5 minutes on the initial phone call, I felt an immediate sense of calmness - as if there was nothing I had to worry about. She knew exactly the right questions to ask and gave great suggestions on winery stops, where she could make dinner reservations at, picture locations - her input was no less than perfect. I was so impressed, I opted to book her for an additional day as well - left it completely up to her on where to go, time, picnic, lunch - everything. That was a great decision. As you can probably tell by now, both days of the tour went flawlessly. We used Da Vine for our trip to Napa and could not have been happier. We knew driving was not an option having been to wine tastings together before but we didn't want to spend a lot of money or join a large more affordable group tour. This tour company is unique in that they drive your own rental car around (first stop was AVIS to add her to the agreement). Meaning you can also pack stuff in your trunk and have it all day. It also meant the costs were lower than other companies. I was a bit hesitant about the security of doing this, but we had her as a recommendation from a friends and I found the group to be be very professional and secure. Having a private driver worked well for us because we were able to see more vineyards at our own pace. We made some suggestions to Denise the owner who also drove us around. She organized the day including calling ahead for wine tastings and tour reservations (a must if its a busy time of the year and popular vineyards.) She would give us extra information while we were driving and point out some other vineyards and amazing views. While we were enjoying our wines, she went out and bought us food from a local grocer, so no time was wasted and we decided when and where we wanted to eat it. The lunch she had set up was no plastic plate ordeal either - she had it all set up on picnic table with nice table cloth, tableware and wine glasses. We even met another couple at a tasting and she called in to add them to our next vineyard tour. Overall this is the perfect way to enjoy Napa or Sonoma if you don't want the hassle of driving and getting lost with GPS (which considering my cell lost service half the time driving is a big deal!) Instead we drank how much we wanted, ate when we wanted, and felt like we were still just the two of us having a great time. If you want a big group because of the social aspects, this is not for you but if you have a smaller group or just a couple this is the perfect, most efficient, least expensive option. Denise set up 2 days of tours and tastings for our group of 8 and really nailed our hope of having unique experiences and creating fun memories together. Our tours ranged from outdoors, standing with amazing wine country views, to seated and private with histories of the vineyards, to a fabulous bubble room, to a horse ranch, to a private vineyard tour and assisting with the wine making process, to a cave tasting. So much fun! I found Da Vine wine tours through a random google search when my friends were coming from out of town for a wine tour. Denise answered my email right away and got the tour set up for the day that we needed (even though it was only a few days away). She was doing a tour that day so her husband, Dennis did our tour. He was so great! He arrived on time with a picnic basket and bottles of water. He was very familiar with the area and took us to some great wineries. Just by being with his tour we got some of our tasting fees waived! He was very careful driving my car. He is very knowledgeable and gave us lots of wine and vineyard information that was really interesting.
