DaBella completed my siding project in less than two days. Completely removed old siding, 42 years old without a moisture barrier, wrapped the entire structure and installed new Hardie siding. Ended up feeling ripped off at the end of it all. The contract specified floor replacement, walls demo'd and rebuilt, and shower installation. The shower installation was acceptable. Everything else was subpar. The contractor did no drywalling, no baseboards, no caulking of the walls around the replaced floor or the new wall. Granted the contract did not specify finishing, but "replace a floor" and "demo and rebuild a wall" would imply so. I had to find others to do this finishing/drywalling, costing me more. And they did a horrible job on the floor replacement. They said they leveled it, but when you step on the newly installed LVT floor, there are dips all over the place and you feel like you are stepping into holes. Bad. To top it off, they put the washer and dryer back, which covered a 2" gap they missed on the floor. Shifty move there... This company needs to stick to just doing showers. Yeah yeah, I could have fought it and argued and hassled the contractors into doing it right. But I'd rather just move on and fix it myself. IF you hire this company, make damn sure you specify every little thing you expect them to do. Do not trust generalities and "best practices" and expect them to be professional. You will be disappointed. And may I add, the response you see from the company below is BS. It came immediately after posting, which tells me it's some AI junk. How lame. I am not going to waste my time with "Contact customer service and select Option 1" and arguing with your customer service agents. Want to make it right? Overpriced, predatory interest rates, and an extremely high-pressure sales process. I was initially quoted $28,000 for a basic roof. I said no and walked away. I did not agree to the contract. However, the salesman continued using high-pressure sales tactics until my wife ultimately signed the contract despite my objections. Unfortunately, the problems continued after the sale. DaBella delivered the roofing materials about a month before the laborers were scheduled to begin work. There was no phone call or advance warning that the materials were being delivered. They simply showed up. Because the materials sat there for weeks before the work began, they were exposed to repeated rain. By my count, the plywood was rained on eight times, and the top two layers were visibly warped. That leaves me with legitimate concerns about moisture damage and potential mold in my attic. The crew also failed to use the proper ladder setup and destroyed the rain gutters I had installed and painted years ago. I have included a photo showing the damage. I came home one evening to find my kitchen light fixture filled with water. Removing the fixture caused it to break, and I had to mop up more than a gallon of water. The workers apparently could not figure out how to properly drain the swamp cooler reservoir. Imagine the amount of water still in the attic. And then there are the nails. I have found roofing nails scattered throughout the lawn, walkway, gutters, and other areas around the property. This is not the level of cleanup I would expect from a "professional" roofing company. The combination of the high-pressure sales tactics, extremely expensive financing, premature delivery of materials, property damage, water intrusion, and inadequate cleanup has left me very disappointed. I had a three-hour sales appointment with DaBella that was the definition of high-pressure sales. Their initial quote for siding was a staggering $142,000. They pushed "same-day" discounts to bring it to $100,000, claiming the price would never be this low again. After we signed and then cancelled the next day, a manager suddenly claimed there was a "mistake" and dropped the price to $61,000. A $40,000 "mistake" is not an error--it's predatory. If they can suddenly find $80k in "savings" only after a cancellation, their initial pricing is a sham. I successfully stopped payment on my check and cancelled the contract. Over the past few weeks I've been getting calls daily from various Denver numbers. The call begins with an automated voice claiming to be from the Home Improvement Group which asks me if I am the homeowner. It then transfers me to a call center with a live person with an Indian accent. The person asks what type of roofing I have, then my zip and they already have my name and address. They then ask if I am interested in a free home improvement estimate. I have repeatedly asked them to stop calling me and tell them I am on the do not call list. I was once told that that does not matter. They continued to call daily, several times a day, sometimes I would get calls within 30 minutes of each other. After they confirm my name and address, they ask if I would like to have someone call to arrange a free home improvement estimate within 48 hours. They also mumble something about the call being exempt from the do not call list. This Sunday AM on one of the calls, I finally agreed to receive a call hoping I could somehow stop the calls. The automated calls stopped, and I got a text today from DaBella. I called the number of the text and got a live agent from DaBella. I told the agent I was upset about the spam calls and wanted them to know that the company they got my reference from had been spam calling me for weeks even though I am on the do not call registry. She didn't really seem to understand my complaint, and noted that I had indicated I was interested in getting a free estimate. She wouldn't tell me the name of the company that provided my reference to them, and asked me again if I was interested in a free home improvement estimate. I told them I had no interest in doing business with them and they ended the call. My only suggestion is to do research and not cave to high pressure. Their siding looks good and is now low maintenance. They also had to add a vapor barrier as the house didn't have one. Had them come out to give us quote on roof repair. Had other companies out and it takes around an hour for them to get up on the roof and give an estimate...not DaBella. Four hours and half hours this guy is trying to sell us a new roof. We told him up front no matter what price you give us we are not signing anything today, give us your estimate and we will get back to you if we decide to go with you. Four and half hours this guy saying trust our company, trust our product, trust me. He had to call his boss or he would lose his job. 38k, then 32k, 23k and stopping at 19k but only if we sign now! DaBella has been one of the worst contractor experiences I have ever had. I was sold a shower remodel that was represented as a 1-3 day project, but nearly two weeks later I still did not have a working shower in my only bathroom. Their communication has been vague, reactive, and completely inadequate, with no firm completion date and no meaningful accountability. Even more concerning, when DaBella claimed the missing part had been ordered and shipped, I requested a tracking number for the part needed to complete the project; when I contacted the carrier, they stated they had no record of that tracking number and had not handled freight for DaBella since before the part was supposedly ordered. They informed my retired mother that she had big damages on her roof and they needed to get it done right away. They told her that she couldn't wait or the roof would cave in which then led my mother to pay for this out of her own pocket without filing an insurance claim. Will I be home. Will all the homeowners be there. They are going to want to see all the windows. I said they can see the 2 that I need quotes on. That is it. I will not be there. My 82 yo dad, with no decision making ability, will be there to show them the two upstairs windows in question. I get a call from the sales TEAM that has descended on my house and is trying to pressure my father. I told them as above. Repeated what I told their scheduler. 2 windows. No more no less. Leave me there quotes. Corvette level, Camaro level, Chevette level. They did not like that. I then repeat all the above to their manager when he calls me with the sales pitch. My father requested a roof quote and had two folks come to his property. The free quote raised an eyebrow as nothing in life is free unfortunately. But it seemed to cost about 2hrs of his time which was alright since he is retired but 30min longer than he was told when setting up the appointment. When they came they we very professional and told my father what their process was before beginning the inspection. They took lots of photos of the house, roof, and even the attic. They sat down with my father and ran through all the photos they had taken explaining things to him. Once their inspection was over the pitch began. He was quoted quite high at first but they kept bringing the price down which caused him to stand his ground on getting other bibs because coming down over 10k from the original estimate raised too many red flags. They could not give him a price breakdown which seems common for roofing as these folks tend to get paid from commissions and contract out their jobs. Of the two reps the gal Jessica was very kind, understanding, and took the time to break down what her colleague was saying and fully explain everything to my father. Her colleague however, was slightly pushy and obviously running through their script to get the sale that day but still was very polite, my father could not remeber his name or else I'd include it here. Once it was clear to them he was not going to buy that day it became a "insecure girlfriend" questionnaire where he kept asking my father why not, which was expected. Whilst we look at other bibs we were impressed by their products as they seemed to be rigorously tested and backed by some impressive warranties lasting up to 50years and is transferable. A transferable warranty is something we have been looking into for the future Overall we're impressed by their quality of products and their warranties. However, a salesman is a salesman and they will try to "save the deal" by sweeting the deal which is why it's not 5 stars from us but he may end up using them as the quality of work from them in his neighborhood is very well done and his neighbors have all had good experiences working with them. Not only were there multiple problems with the quality of the work, but attempts to get follow-up or resolution have gone unanswered. Here are just some of the issues we've been left with: * The new bay window is missing end pieces, has sloppy caulking, and visible gaps. * The front door installation left open gaps in the siding, exposing insulation instead of a proper weather barrier. * The motion detector was disabled for installation and never reactivated. * Landscaping around the bay window, back patio, and front porch was damaged during siding work, and the ruined grass was never addressed. * To top it off, there are tire marks across a newly poured driveway. I was told they'd note our account to call me back in a couple of weeks, yet the very next day I was receiving multiple calls again. When I finally picked up, I reiterated our schedule and budget (we want to save and plan for the purchase in a year or two), but they insisted we must schedule an in-home 90-minute appointment now, saying they couldn't provide any estimate over the phone. That requirement felt like a pressure tactic -- despite the fact that many of the home's specs are publicly available. Because all I wanted was a ball-park estimate and to plan ahead, their insistence on immediate commitment and repeated follow-up calls left me uncomfortable. We are no longer moving forward with them and will pursue our siding project elsewhere. If you're considering DaBella: be very clear about when you're ready and get that in writing. However, they in reality a family started company that is huge with hundreds of businesses across the nation. They will take a great deal of your time with a very hard high pressure sell from the moment they enter your house. They quoted me $24,000 to replace my bathtub and tile. When I said no three times, they called the main office and got a better deal which I kept refusing. When they said they needed to call again, I said please go do it in your car and they refuse saying I have to make the call from your house. I could not get rid of them. My criticisms in the original review stand, and I am even more frustrated now because I called the estimator, Preston, directly, and was again told he showed up because of a 'marketing lead' initiated by my father, which is both impossible and contrary to what Customer Service told me since the company has no record of any such 'lead.' I already knew as much since my father does not have the skills or initiative to set something up due to dementia. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The company targeted my elderly father as many other reviewers have stated. While they were on site, a friend of the family explained that my dad clearly could not remember how these people showed up to give an estimate. When the workers were confronted, they lied and said my dad had arranged it on his computer. We know it's a lie because he does not know how to use a computer. Eventually I just wanted them to leave, but they insisted on measuring every window in my home. I just wanted them to give me an estimate for the 8 windows, but they wouldn't do that unless they could get my husband to joined me. They upfront told me that they would only take a yes or no answer. I laughed to myself, because even if my husband were here, we never say yes without second opinions. Estimator was well practiced in the HARD SELL tactics. Was anxious to get me to commit and did everything he could to convince me that my home was in dire need. I requested a detailed electronic copy the estimate and said that I wasn't going to make decision until Monday (48 hours later). The estimator got visibly agitated and said "You wouldn't take this offer now even if it were for free!" I replied that I wanted to compare all the bids and make a decision after careful consideration. He then said to his coworker, "He's not going to go with us." and walked away in a huff. This was one of the worst experiences ever! I would give them negative stars if possible! I went to a home show and signed up for free ESTIMATES, as in multiple from numerous companies, on siding to get an idea of pricing and make an informed decision with all the information. Dabella was my FIRST estimate. These 2 guys were great to start. They said at the beginning we'll give you all of the information and if you decide no then we'll put on our big boy pants and leave. I was told this would take 90min. They were in my home from 10 till 1:30 and I swear they never would have left if I hadn't lied and told them I had to pick up my kids. It was like I was being held hostage in my own home!!!! I literally spent the last hour telling them over and over that I will NOT move forward today, that I need more quotes. The estimate started at over 60,000 and the more I said no the more the price went down. I told them again, not today. One of the guys got upset and scribbled out all the discounts because I wouldn't sign. They asked me if I like blind dates, saying do you want to have more strangers in your house like us, of course not, so sign today. Then they resorted to the you must not like us because we're giving you everything you want and you won't sign so we're confused about why, because I've told you I need more quotes, because I said No! Do you need more than that? I even said , you can sit there all day and I will NOT sign today, I need more estimates than just yours, and one of the guys actually said "I will, I will sit here ALL day if that's what it takes for you to sign" and then he laughed like it was funny to make a woman feel unsafe and threatened. Next thing I know fake calls to bosses are being made and magically the price goes down from 60,000 to 34,000 which leads me to believe they are extremely dishonest and trying to take advantage of anyone they can. Especially if you are a single woman. Let me answer now. NO! I don't like you or your high pressure tactics! You made me feel unsafe and scared in my own home!!!! At no point did these two put on their big boy pants like they said they would. They left aggravated and butt hurt. DaBella is hands-down one of the most intrusive companies we've dealt with. We have two "No Soliciting" signs clearly posted, yet their rep still knocked on our door in the middle of the workday--waking up our napping kids and interrupting our jobs (we both work from home). When I pointed out the signs, the guy didn't apologize--he argued with me at my own front door. I had to shut the door in his face just to end it. It gets worse. I called the company directly to ask to be placed on a Do Not Call list, and the person who answered the phone hung up on me. No acknowledgment, no follow-up--just complete disregard. This isn't even the first time we've had issues. A few years ago, we made the mistake of agreeing to a roof consultation when one of their high pressure door-to-door salesmen woke our baby (which we clearly stated was not for windows). The entire visit turned into a high-pressure, never-ending window sales pitch, and the rep would not leave. It honestly felt like we were being held hostage in our own living room. They made it feel like our roof was about to cave in, and like our windows were shoddy and inferior. Then they quoted us an astronomical price. I found DaBella online for a single window problem in my home. Although, I had a really painful experience with two sales reps I was not going to leave a review. However, DaBella keeps contacting me about the project. I could not get an estimate for just the work I needed completed. They ignore my response when I explain I just want one window replaced and quick 15 min estimate. Initially when I called , I explained to the sales team I wanted an estimate for one window. I did not need or want my entire home tested for moisture levels and every window inspected. I explained this to the sale team when they arrived. The Sales folks want to inspect your entire home and want hours of your time. When I explained I just had one job, and I need an estimate for one window, The sales folks refuse to leave. Over ten minutes I had to ask a dozen times to leave my home walking them to the door. The younger sales girl with nose rings, admonished me for prioritizing my time instead of the DaBella sales process. Be careful if don't have two hours to waste with a DaBella Sales rep that won't leave your home when asked politely. The sale team won't respond if you ask for a simple and quick estimate. Installation was a nightmare! Group that installed my windows spoke very little English. Very, very young family members and seemed to not have much experience. DaBella contracts out their installers. They got to my house by 10:00 AM (the time I requested and didn't finish until 12:50 am.. they kept telling me they wanted to finish. I asked them a number of times to come back tomorrow. They kept working! Had to tell them to quit using there power tools. One time at 8:30 pm then at 11:0 pm. Did a terrible job caulking. Will have to have a painter come and paint around 9 windows and a sliding glass door. Also I'm still missing the screen door. Clean up wasn't great. Got caulk on my new outside curtains. I had a doggie door panel inserted in my sliding glass door. They had to take it out of course to put new sliding glass door in. I saw the doggie panel leaning against their truck in front of the house. Asked the lead guy if he was throwing it out? Incoherent what he said. Told him it goes back in the door. I don't think he understood because when they were finished they had loaded it up in the truck with the rest of the old windows. I had a fit and a 15 year family member came later with their dog and translated. They threw all the parts and got some out of the trash, not all. He was showing me it didn't fit with new door. Told him there was still a part missing. No, no, no all parts there. Nope a piece of panel on the top was missing. They ended using an electric saw at 11!00 pm and cut the one piece so panel would fit. What a mess. It's in crooked & never used a level so I have gaps from top to bottom. They drilled holes for the screws in the new track for screw and drilled more holes that they didn't use! I'm sick about this. Of course DaBella called the next day for the rest of my payment. Told them I wouldn't pay until they fix all the problems. Said they wouldn't send out someone to fix everything until I paid, as it's in the contract when job completed full payment due she kept saying to me. Like an idiot I paid. Its been a week and no call to set up an appointment. Do not use DaBella windows are good but installation is horrible! I could go on more with problems but I think you get my frustration and the shoddy work done. read more
