(PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW)(DABELLA IS A CHEESY USED CAR SALESMAN SELLING A GEO METRO AND TELLING YOU IT'S A CORVETTE) *anything with an astrisk is a correction or an addition* *Correction, After getting threatened by the owner of Dabella Exteriors i was told i needed to fix this statement. The owner of Dabella is a former sales rep of PENGUIN WINDOWS(look em up) and her husband is the former president of PENGUIN WINDOWS and both Dabella and PENGUIN WINDOWS share sales techniques and promies* Fixed : ) This company is a total scam scaring you into products and services with Doom and Gloom that aren't necessary at a VERY VERY STEEP HIKE. Starting off im a project manager with a bum shoulder for a power company. A roof is an investment and with any investment you need to do your research and do a "hot wash" of contractors, quality and materials. If the job was smaller id do it myself but I did extensive research on all the major products and add ons that could possibly be for my personal home. DaBella Exteriors was 1 of the 5 contracting firms I went through for quotes to get a good est of quotes so I could look over the itemized receipts and see what each would charge for things such as; Labor, Base materials, add on sect. Then into the attic to check for leaks and writing notes for add-ons or "upsells". After that he went straight into his 3 ring binder and started his sales pitch. I really tried to stay positive and see exactly what he had to say. Below is what my assessment is of Dabella Exteriors. I already knew the warranty and the products he was selling. Most of what he said about the products are true and some are very very wrong. This includes him telling me about the tiger paw underlayment is WATER PROOF and even showed me documentation but right on the GAF website you can see its NOT but is water resistant. Also synthetic underlayment is not necessary for architectural shingles but is under metal or natural materials. The benefits for synthetic under GAF shingles are just an upsell but do stay in their GAF system. Some of the other materials and upsells were also untrue. Dabella also would not give me an actual itemized quote but did have a few line items and discounts. The discounts are a $500 veteran discount, another if I put their sign in my yard and last is if I give them a positive review. Dabella uses biased reviews. If you want the true blue reviews from them you need to look at Yelp and not Angies list or the BBB (Better business bureau). They give 1200 to 1500 worth of rebates if you do a Pre and a Post construction review (Sounds like a good deal but read my next point). This gives them a very biased review. It forced consumers who are gouged by price hikes to scramble for any discount they can muster. If you do your research on them you can see reviews for shoddy craftsmanship, poor customer service and a laundry list of other poo marks. Dabella used a satellite imagery to map the surface area of my home. This is a great way to may flat surfaces but not roofs which have a pitch. I was told I had a 36 "square" roof. The other 5 contractors say between 32 to 34. Doesn't seem like a huge deal but once you look at the fact DaBella is charging $700 per square! So keep in mind this is 1 of the 5 contractors I got quotes from. After telling each contractor I wanted a 50 year shingle, Mid-grade with alge resistance and a closed valley roof with a high grade felt underlayment. I got a range of 8k to 15k quotes from 2 of the highest reviewed large companies, 2 smaller but highly reviewed firms and then Dabella. Dabella quoted me $25k! that's almost 3 times higher than the any other company. Also the other companies gave me a price breakdown (which Dabella doesn't) telling you where the money is going (Materials, tear off/lay down Labor, upgraded materials and of course upsells). In conclusion if you do go with Dabella you will be plyed to leave a good review or they will charge you a $1500 if you actually leave an honest review. The materials they sell are good materials but the facts the sales reps will tell you are not honest. You will be charged twice as much as you should be charged with no better quality in workmanship(since their work is sub contracted). *After having the owner of the company cold call me and chat about this review we spoke about several things. 15 minutes into the call we spoke about how she knows that she gives money to customers if they leave a POSITIVE review. At 27 minutes she brought up her relationship to pengiun windows. At 43-51 minutes i got a threat of legal action to take this review down. At 52 to 102 min she backpeddeled and said she wasnt going to take legal action once she found out the conversation was recorded. In all she was nice depite threatening me with her lawyer*. ITS ALL RECORDED TOO WHICH MAKES IT EVEN BETTER. read more

If I could of given a zero or negative star review I would have. I had a free estimate that was scheduled for 2pm. The person that came out was nothing more than the worst type of used car salesman. Finally at 6:04 pm I had to ask the person to leave my house. From the start of the consultation at 2pm I told the DaBella employee that I was not looking to make changes for at least 6 months and I would not be signing anything and I was worried about wasting his time! He was using all sales tactics to try to get me to sign. I was looking at a consultation for windows and siding. I got a quote for 68,000 dollars and then when I said I was not looking to make a down payment or sign he called his "manager in Medford" and tried to negotiate the price down using snake oil salesmen tactics. Each time I said I was not interested he would call and speak to his manager. He called 3 times and got the estimate down to 40,000. Mind you I just bought this house on June 5th 2020 and had an appraisal and inspection on these issues and this price was nowhere near what the inspector had noted. Do not let DaBella employees into your house at any cost! You will be preyed upon and strong armed into a sale! After this employee left I looked at reviews and most of the good star reviews I noticed are from people that had not had work completed. The low star reviews are from people also receiving used car salesman/snake oil salesmen tactics or had actually had work done. My experience was almost word for word of this company being in ones house for four plus hours and not leaving until the homeowners had to kick the DaBella employee out. I also want to note that the responses for all the negative reviews are basically this computer generated response and one can tell they have a plan in place for damage control for bad reviews. I bet the DaBella response from this review will say.. "The high cost you were quoted is because our products are higher quality than other products on the market" then they will say this employee does not represent our training plan and they will be spoken too and you must have had a lot of questions for them to stay that long" blah blah blah. Their generic responses to bad reviews show they must hear these problems a lot and have template responses in place for damage control. I want to point out I was an idiot for even letting them into my house and not kicking the DaBella employee out after the 2nd hour. Shame on this company for their tactics and please do not make the same mistake I did of letting them into your house. Be smarter than me people! I hope karma hits this company where it hurts. 4 hours and 5 minutes of my life I will never get back. AT LEAST I DIDN'T SIGN ANYTHING! HA. IF YOU DO LET THESE PEOPLE INTO YOUR HOME PLEASE PLEASE WASTE THEIR TIME AS A GOOD WELL WISH TO ME. Saying no will not get them to stop trying to sell you and leave. Just make them leave. I am a homeowner with a small front yard with no loans. My roof and remodel are new. The 2 ignorant property invasion specialists they send to your door are as aggressive as any felony probate could be. They ignored many no trespassing signs, a massive no knock sign, and a straightforward go the funk away do not disturb sign on the door. Was asked to leave property I own and refused to leave and started a fight at my front door. Had to escort the pair of uneducated employees off the property by outnumbering them from my home guests. They started yelling about how we hurt them when they were untouched, that we don't have any rights as homeowners, and they have right to refuse to leave my actual property...and were calling in a musclebound moron covered in bro tattoos wearing a fake Veteran hat to try to "resolve the issue" when the police told them on the phone to leave. OMFG. Good thing Im ready for these home invasion looking clowns with video and warning not to come around again by showing my means and scars. The service we receivied from DaBella with our new roof & gutters was excellent. There were a few unpreditable little changes but nothing too bad. When I did have a concern about the progressing of the project and didn't know to whom to address it I would call Marcus Smith the young man that helped us through the whole process from start to finish and he would get the answers I could not and get back to me with no complaining about my lack of going through proper channels. To me this is the kind of employ that I would definitely be after if I ever had a need to have one. He was always willing to work with us at our convienence with a smile on his face and very polite every step of the way. We are also very pleased with all the workers that did the jobs along the way. We met with Jake over 3 visits ( 7 hours in total) and he was consistently timely, informative and prepared for all of the questions and concerns that we could present to him. Our rep from Da Bella was Skyler. He was very professional and thorough in the inspection of our roof. We felt comfortable in his assessment of our current roof and did not feel as though he was upselling unneeded services. We were anticipating a new roof in the near future but uncertain of the company to choose. Skyler was confident in his product, GAF, and presented the features of the roof thoroughly. We felt educated on the benefits of the roof features. We asked many questions throughout our inspection time and he was able to address them with clarity. This led me to believe from the start that they new the DeBella company and what they had to offer. Have had Deballa reps swing by before and they've always left me feeling like I wanted their services. Had put in a siding quote but upon inspection they let me know itd be best to get the windows done at the same time. As I knew they both needed getting done I entertained the idea. Come time for the quote of course the numbers are large but they did a good job showing where they come from and what I'm getting out of it. And after explaining sort of the budget I have in mind they made it all work and by the end I felt the numbers were reasonable and I'm very excited to have such a professional service at such a reasonable price for the quality of work. We had Jeremy Hansen from DaDella come out to take a look at our roof because we noticed a stain forming on our kitchen ceiling. He climbed up in the attic and determined where the leak is coming from. He also did a inspection of our entire attic and roof and found other issues. He showed us how DaBella could fix not only the leak, but provide us with a roof we'll never have to worry about again. Justin and Jacob came to my house and spent several hours with me to get the right scope of work, with the right materials, at a price my budget could tolerate.
