[[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a brilliant time at trivia night at the Bier Beergarden. Nice and humorous staff. Fun community night[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Drinks were good. - An American IPA - A Wit - A cherry blossom beer Could have done with drink specials all throughout trivia night. We arrive too late for them Food hit the spot in a pub / greasy spoon kind of way - just what we wanted. - Giant sides of tater tots, good old school time nostalgia - Giant pretzel. Soft on the inside, chewy exterior. Salty, in a perfect kind of way We would go back for sure

Met with some friends here while I was in dc. The staff was very friendly & the service was quick! Scanned the code at the table & paid. Within a minute or two, had our drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus, the weather was nice & cool for an outside table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A frequent haunt over the past few years, especially during their happy hour (lasts until 7). Not the most expansive drink menu but it's solid, reliable, and decently priced. Big fan of the chicken tenders. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In recent years they have added a good number of heaters and an enclosed-ish area, so it's a great spot no matter what weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dog-friendly, friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordering is done through a QR code.

Family-friendly bar restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating and TVs for game watching. I didn't try the food menu but stuck to my cider. Menu is via QR code scanning. Service is limited as far as I could tell.

Fantastic place to come for a beer, conversation, watching sports and hanging out. Comfortable and casual outdoor seating. The only reason why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 4 or even 5 is because the menus are completely touchless, so the entire transaction or making a selection, scrolling through the menu and figuring out what's what, paying, ordering more items, it's all done by your cell phone. So the servers don't approach you initially like a traditional bar or restaurant. A person like me, I have questions so you're sort of on your own to figure things out. I would go back. Hanging out with friends and good company over beer is always a win-win.

Great place! Devon was awesome definitely looked out for me and party! Come by and bring your friends here!!! The location is very family oriented and they will take care of you respectfully. SHOUT TO DEVON!! You the man!

Bryan can pour a mean Guinness! At 91 degrees, it doesn't feel like Ireland, but the Guinness is definitely refreshing. Well done!

I stopped here briefly before a dinner just to pass time, but that was enough for me to gather how cool of a spot it is! It's a few blocks past the primary area of Eastern Market, so unless you know it's there, you may not go. There's plenty of seating inside and out, and it appears to be dog friendly for the puppy owners. I sat at one of the many available seats at the bar, and instead of menus, I got a QR code! This may be inconvenient for some, but I am personally a big fan. I was surprised to see how much food there was to choose from -- though I wasn't eating. I got a beer (I forgot which) and a glass of pinot grigio, quite good! There were TVs and overall it just seemed like a cool environment. Maybe it was because of the time, but compared to other beer gardens, this one seemed more chill, and I appreciated that.

Good selection of beer, their own beer in particular. You can order and pay online, which is handy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]it seems like there are just outdoor seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can get some discount if you register on their website and also for the first check-in on Yelp!

The dark warm mood lighting, the corrugated wall, the intimate seating, and of course the small share plates makes for the sexy experience tapas is suppose to be! It is typical of Spanish flavors, heavily relying on high-end cured meats and cheeses, and classics such as croquetas. There is something very special that goes into tapas because its suppose to satisfy you based on good taste over quantity. Large shrimp in a generous skillet of olive oil and slow cooked garlic slices and a iberico mac and cheese are some examples of how they elevate classics we are familiar with. We really liked that they learned into garlic and spice. We found dried Aji Caballero in our meal, great attention to source country. They have a very robust and generous drinks menu. Loved watching others not dining alone and embracing that share quality of the menu design. Perhaps it is not the best tapas I had, I would have liked to see a balance with lighter citrus flavors but maybe that was an ordering issue. At some point, since the menu heavily leans towards rich and decadent, its better to plan around that. Our waitress was amazing, she explained the questions we had on the ingredients and was on it with the refills.

This restaurant has a dining room that is as beautiful and impressive as any in DC. The architecture of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel (the Old Post Office Pavilion) is stunning. The crystal chandeliers shimmer, the furnishings are top notch, fancy even. The atmosphere could not be better. Likewise the food shines. Each dish outshone the one before. We started with the oxtail croquettes and they set the standard very high. The meat was luscious, luxurious even; the crust was perfectly crispy and crunchy. Then on to the she-crab soup. OMG it was to die for. The flavor was intense, like a crab bomb exploded in our mouths. We scraped the sides of the little bowls to get every drop. Our main dish was the beef tenderloin Rossini and this was easily among the best steaks I have ever had. Cutting the steak was easy because it was so tender. And the seared foie gras on top made it heavenly. So, to keep with my opening concept, the atmosphere of the dining room and the quality of the food were "the best of times." What was "the worst of times?" The service. It is hard to imagine food this good coming from a staff that is so unprofessional, uninspired, uninterested, unfocused. The staff - all of them - seemingly had no interest in providing top notch service. We waited to be approached. We waited for our drinks. We waited for our food; indeed, one of our courses never arrived. Never have I had such great food and such bad service all at the same time. Ronny was our waiter and, to be honest, he was not good. But everyone who we interacted with was bad so, I can only conclude, that this terrible service is what Jose Andres intended. And all of this at a meal that is VERY expensive. My spouse and I talked about the pricing. When you dine out, are you paying for the food only, or for the food and the service? The answer, of course, is that you are paying for both. So, while I do NOT mind paying a lot for a meal, I do want and expect that the food and the service will be somewhat equivalent to the price I have paid. At Bazaar Meat, that did not happen. Maybe the service lacked polish and professionalism because of the 20% tip that was automatically added onto the bill. They did not have to work hard for a tip since it was automatic. Sure, you could decrease the tip - it even said that at the bottom of the credit card slip. But would you ever do that? Not likely. So, that is my "A Tale of Two Cities" review of Bazaar Meat. Food and atmosphere, GREAT! Service, TERRIBLE! Do I recommend Bazaar Meat? No. Will I return? No.

The organizer had booked the brunch about a week in advance and had coordinated with the restaurant to pay a large group deposit. The reservation was for 1:30 PM, but our table was not ready until 2 PM. When we were finally seated, the table was only set for 20 people. We were in the upstairs room with another large group, so there was no space to really add two more chairs to our table. We had to crowd into the table to accommodate the last two people. Even though the brunch is bottomless with a menu to choose from, the servers decided to just bring random items from the brunch menu to the table. Honestly, some of the worst food I have ever seen. The vegetable vitamin salad looked like slop, as did the rice/salad dish, which I'm not even sure what it was called. We were also brought a trio of three dips as well as pita and cornbread. The dips were very bland, the cornbread was dry and flavorless. As I did not like any of the items that the servers selected, I begin requesting other salads/appetizers off of the menu. I requested the Greek/Mediterranean salad and the pickles, both were very underwhelming. As far as the brunch foods, the menu was literally all over the place. Even though this is a Balkan-inspired restaurant, there were items such as fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and shrimp and grits on the menu, which don't actually make sense in light of what Balkan cuisine is. The best thing I ate was grilled steak, which was on a platter with eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. There were two Belgian dessert waffles as well which were underwhelming. The only decent thing about the entire experience is that our servers kept the mimosas flowing. Each person in our party paid $75 inclusive of tax and tip-- 100% NOT worth it.

That made the experience feel even more special in hindsight. We walked in on a Monday night without reservations (clearly a theme for us!), not knowing they were needed. Thankfully, they were able to seat us in the bar area, which turned out to be a perfect spot for a relaxed dinner and a glass of wine. We ordered a mix to share: hummus, spanakopita, kofte kebab, and adana kebab. Everything was delicious, but the spanakopita really stood out. It was a bit unexpected--not layered like the traditional version, but more of a rolled presentation. Even so, the flavors were wonderful and elevated in a way that made it memorable. The only slight disappointment for me was the wine selection. The red wines leaned more dry than I typically prefer--I tend to go for something more fruit-forward--but it didn't take away from the overall experience. Dessert was the one miss. We were really hoping for baklava, which wasn't on the menu. Instead, we ordered the walnut delight. While it had all the right flavors, it didn't quite deliver the wow factor we were hoping for. That said, the food, atmosphere, and overall experience were still impressive. I was excited to learn that Zaytinya has locations beyond D.C., including closer to home in the Bay Area--so I'll definitely be visiting again. Highly recommend, and maybe make a reservation!

The staff was wonderful, especially our server Noah, who was incredibly attentive and made the experience even better. We did the bottomless dinner, and the value is honestly unbeatable. We tried the grilled gem lettuce, marinated cucumbers, street corn, hoisin-glazed pork belly bao buns, P22 cheeseburger sliders, spicy shrimp & pancetta pizza, funghi pizza, dan dan noodles, rigatoni norcina, and the sesame steak skewers. Everything was delicious, but the standouts were the dan dan noodles (rich, savory, and packed with flavor), the funghi pizza (crispy with earthy mushrooms and perfectly melted cheese), and the sesame steak skewers (tender, juicy, and coated in a flavorful sesame glaze). The hoisin-glazed pork belly bao buns were soft, fluffy, and packed with melt-in-your-mouth pork, while the rigatoni norcina was creamy, comforting, and perfectly cooked. The grilled gem lettuce was also a fresh, flavorful way to start the meal. For drinks, the white sangria and pomegranate ginger mocktail were both refreshing and delicious. Dessert didn't disappoint either, the flourless chocolate cake (with candied pecans instead of hazelnuts) was rich without feeling too heavy, and the churros were light, crispy, and perfect with the caramel and chocolate dipping sauces.
