The beer was cold, service great, for was good. Not many food options available. The climb to the top was good exercise for working up a thirst

Ridiculous pretzel as bad as two heads lol. Also tasty!

We stumbled into Sauf haus (11 ladies trying to dance at 7pm...lol) after finding Decades was closed. We were happy to end up there because the roof patio had a nice mix of music for dancing and was crowded enough but not overcrowded. There's a good selection of beverages, priced fairly, and some food options including the most enormous and delicious pretzel ever. A decent cover band came in at 9pm. Good vibes and fun!

It's a casual atmosphere but good place to go with a larger group. The beer was good and so was the pretzel but I wish they gave us more of the sauces, I felt like I had to ration them a bit.

    Best bartender ever

I went to this place two nights in a row. It has a strong happy hour and tends to clear out after dinner. I was one of the few people at the rooftop area at one point. There are multiple floors here but they aren't always open. Be sure and go all the way up to the top to get to the rooftop. They have live music sometimes and they have a good beer selection. Different beers at different bars there.

I love coming to sauf house!!! She is amazing! Provides the best service every time I come! The food, the music, and the vibe is amazing every time I come here!

I did the house dry rub and old bay dry rub. The house dry rub, to be honest, was bland and flavorless. The old bay seasoning was very good. I wish the wings had come with more. For $15 you get 8 total wings. It didn't feel like great value. What is great value and tastes great are the Bavarian pretzels as well as the buffalo chicken dip. You truly can't go wrong with either one. They have a robust drink menu. They are lacking a cider on tap but it is what it is. While this might not be the most glowing review on its surface, Bronson's gets 5 stars for its atmosphere and ability to accommodate a wide range of food and drink desires. I watched two World Cup games here and it was a fun, electric atmosphere.

I was in the patio with friends, in the corner, not bothering anyone -- not fighting, not yelling, not approaching strangers. Security walked up, said there was "a complaint," refused to say who it was from, refused to say what it was about, refused to let me talk to the manager, and refused to even let me back inside to grab my own card. My friends asked him to stop. He ignored them. This is the second time their security has unfairly targeted me. The first time I had just stepped outside to take a phone call. The same guard ran after me and started accusing me of stealing -- but couldn't say what was supposedly stolen or who had complained, because nobody actually had. I told him my laptop and jacket were inside at the bar and that all the bartenders know me. He eventually apologized once it became obvious he had nothing. Same guy, same pattern, different night. Also worth knowing: my friend and I had just ordered around $100 in food and drinks at the end. Nothing finished. No refund offered, no apology, no manager. If management thinks letting one guard humiliate paying customers in front of their friends is good for business, here's your feedback. Plenty of better pubs in Arlington that actually respect the people

The sunlight coming through the big windows and umbrellas made everything feel warm and relaxed. It's definitely one of those spots that feels very DC weekend. We ordered the giant pretzel with cheese and mustard and it was SO good soft, warm, perfectly salted, and ideal for sharing. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right. We also tried a couple of beers (the grapefruit one was especially good and refreshing), and everything paired perfectly with the food. Perfect for daytime dates, meeting friends, or just enjoying good vibes in Shaw.

Dacha Beer Garden is an interesting set-up. Walk up to the host stand and get your hand stamped before gaining entry to the dining area; more on the hand stamp later. The interior is ginormous and the "walls" are heavy duty plastic with the center of the room having an open ceiling for natural lighting. This being summer, it was a thousand degrees, but all of the fans on the highest setting, did a good job of circulating the air. Dacha does have one of the better Happy Hour deals for DC (see picture for current specials). I came with a large group of 10+, so we all ordered a bunch of items to share. I sampled the blood orange hefeweizen, which was slightly citrusy and added brightness to the smooth wheat beer. The fried shrimp was surprisingly delicous and tasted quite fresh. I was expecting reheated previously frozen and heavily battered shrimp; but this was not the case. Each piece had a nice snappy bite and lightly battered with good seasoning. I would've liked more of the dipping sauce, but a squeeze of the roasted lemon gave some needed acidity. Also snacked on some of the curry wurst, which tbh was waaay too sweet. Fries were good though and not soggy. Service was a bit slow, but to be expected since I only observed three servers for the entire dining space. The runners did an admirable job of delivering food/beverages after we placed our orders. Regarding the hand stamp, the restrooms are located directly across the courtyard at Jackie (https://www.yelp.com/biz/jackie-washington-4?osq=jackie%27s). So you'll need to show the host at Jackie the hand stamp to use the facilites and then again to return to Dacha. Even if I wasn't in Navy Yards for a Nats game, I would return to the Dacha Beer Garden. We all had an enjoyable experience, but the only slight detraction is the non-Happy Hour prices are on the higher side. But this is only a minor gripe since that's any place in 2025 when dining out. Of course, Dacha is expected to be loud, service somewhat slow, and usually crowded. All the things a good beer garden should be.

Had a friendly greeting from Cat, who informed me that they didn't have any tables available at that time since it was trivia night and a popular time to be there, but one would probably be opening up soon. Thankfully I scored two spots at the bar and told her I'd take that table when it was available. So I bellied up to the bar and admitted to the bartender, Amir, that I'm not great at beer. He was gracious and had some recommendations and let me taste a few options. I landed on the La Chouffe Belgian blond ale. Tasty! And I loved the little gnome on the glass, the brand's adorable mascot. Friend joined, ordered a beer and we were quickly escorted to our table to order dinner. They opted for the classic house mussels, served with fries and several slices of bread for sopping up those tasty juices at the bottom of the mussel pot. I got the cheeseburger and subbed onion rings for the regular fries. Rings were great(!) but the burger was pretty dry and mediocre. We also shared some mozzarella sticks and they were tasty. I see my friends talk about this place all the time and they we're making me feel like I'm the only one who has never gone. Well I can finally scratch it off my list! My friends and I only got one round, but it was a great time. They check IDs at the entrance, and then you are in a consent wherever you want. You could hang out in the outdoor space or you can go to the covered area that has long benches like a typical biergarten. Hop in line to place your order -- one person takes care of your drink, and another person rings you up at the register nearby. The line was getting long but it was moving quite efficiently. I'm not much of a beer drinker, so I just got a cocktail (elderflower G&T) and it was great. The place got really full, but I enjoyed myself. It's smaller than some other biergartens I have been to in the city, but there's something about the vibe of this one that I like over the others. I'll have to come back on another occasion!

Went to Wunder Garten (WG) for a special event on a Saturday afternoon in April…read more They had a great mix of people--local, international, straight, gay, young, and some older folks. At late 50s, we were certainly at the top of the age spectrum; but we felt welcome. We had drinks and planned to have food, but gave up after the event and went to an indoor restaurant the next block up. The first thing you need to realize with this space is that it is an outdoor venue. Not a reason to lower the rating yet--just know what you're getting into. Yes, the Quonset hut is technically a permanent structure; and the cabanas are under cover. However, the hut is less than half the floor space; and the cabanas are all open-front. So dress appropriately. You will probably be shielded from the wind, but forget about climate control if it gets busy. So where did WG lose stars? Let's start with the bar. I asked for a Manhattan made with Woodford Reserve. What I got was a 2 oz pour of Woodford, neat. This was not a 'tall order'. If your bartenders can't mix a drink with literally two ingredients (...plus bitters, so maybe three), then you're just in the wrong business--minus one star. Also, they ran out of one of the beers on their menu. You're a beer garden. You had better have all the beers on your menu or some way to adjust your beer list throughout the day. The other star evaporated when we realized that there was nowhere to eat the food if we had bought some from their food trucks (...clever idea, by the way, replacing a fixed kitchen with food trucks docked to the venue). All the free seating--yes, you have to pay extra for the cabanas--are actual picnic tables. Unless you get there early or pay extra, you will have to stand (...in the weather) ...while you eat. Bottom line: ~$53 for a large mug (1L) of hard cider and a pour of whiskey, consumed standing up in 85 degree F weather. Versus next block: Two margaritas, one soda, one appetizer, two (amazing!) entrees, and one desert brought to us by a lovely waiter and consumed at a clean table while sitting on comfortable chairs in a 72 degree F environment for $122. We may come back to WG for a future event, but that will depend on the weather and our appetite for a standing-room-only experience. As for bringing friends? Nah--we'll just find a picnic table at a local park and skip the premium prices.
