First off - BBQ is subjective. Stopped by because just like you I wanted to see if it was worth coming back to. It is not. Leave it there or read on. I will say the place is nice, very friendly waitstaff and Most attentive. Stellar really. Unfortunately it ends there. I ordered Burnt End sandwich, Mac & cheese and fried cornbread appetizer. Wife got Pulled pork and okra. Burnt Ends were HEAVY sauced and really just not good. Not what you would expect. The Mac & cheese was very bland, not rich and comforting. Didn't even look appealing. The fried cornbread was very oil saturated. Good portion but not worth getting because it just isn't good. My wife's pulled pork was worth getting. A little dry for pulled pork but good. Okra was fried on the al dente side but she and I liked it. I'm only leaving this review so if you come, maybe order something else. Hate to leave a less than nice review but it's your time and money. read more

Ate lunch here today and it was so good. Enjoyed our waitress and was very impressed when the Benson fire dept got a call- they boxed up their food, put lids on their drinks and let it on the table for when they return. Great community find. B read more

The place was very clean and very busy. A brand new location in this community. Service was pleasant but not all that quick or without error. We had an idea of what we wanted before sitting down so we skipped the delay of getting a menu and having to wait for a waitress to come back. The food overall was good. We ordered pulled chicken sandwiches. Portions could have been larger but the quality was spot on. We ordered hush puppies, fries, baked beans and cole slaw. It was all very good. The green beans, baked beans, and brisket were delicious. The chicken, meatloaf, and mac-n-cheese lacked seasoning and flavor. I really couldn't even taste the cheese. This was my 2nd time trying and, unfortunately, 2nd time disappointed. read more

I've gone here several times and have even written a good review on google. But for at least 3xs that I have taken food out from Daddy Ds in Benson something is wrong. I live 6 miles from this place so it's pretty annoying. This time no chopped chicken on the my salad and the honey mustard was mostly mustard. When I walked in asked for manager/ everyone went to the back / I waited a while and they send a young girl to tell me the manager isn't there and won't be back for awhile so I can wait. What a coincidence/ yeah I wasn't born yesterday. So I tell them what happened I get a new salad with ranch this time.. no offer of oh I'm sorry. Or oh let's take that off your bill or for Fs sake an ice cream. I know the customer doesn't matter anymore/ I see this crap everywhere / slack people who let the school system raise them. No manners. No cares. Hopefully nobody spit in my food/ so if I get sick I'm suing. read more

Was traveling and stopped at the nearby Hampton Inn suites using the charging stations for our electric car. While it was charging we walked over to Daddy D's BBQ. It was delicious. A great find. read more

So yummy! We ordered burnt ends and pulled pork and both were tasty. My favorite sides we had were the fried okra and Mac & cheese. Good portions for the price, friendly and quick service. The jalapeño cheese fritters were just okay.. not what I was expecting from a fritter. Looks kind of just like fried cornbread. The hushpuppies and butter were so delicious too. If you're weird about your ice, they have the perfect pellet ice here too. Will def come back! read more

Yum! Is it crazy to go to a bbq place and say the baked beans are your favorite thing? lol could be, but those were the best baked beans I've ever had. We tried the pulled pork, chicken, ribs and sausage for proteins. For our sides we chose Mac & cheese, slaw, beans and potato salad. The chicken was awesome! I really enjoyed the rib and pork as well. The mild and eastern sauces were my favorite. I'm glad we were able to find some good 'que in the area. We will be returning. read more

Had food delivered to our hotel and there weren't any utensils. I got greens and baked beans. You want me to chug a lug from the containers?? We were excited to try because of some of the positive reviews but we'll see. And only one sauce for brisket, sausage, etc. for 2 orders. read more

Some of the best BBQ that I personally tasted. This BBQ is not dry and has a smoky taste like it was cooked over a wood fire. I got a small BBQ with chopped BBQ, Brunswick Stew, collard greens and hush puppies. First off, everything was delicious from the BBQ to the hush puppies, which were soft and very flavorful. Nice atmosphere and staff. The restaurant has a country theme and is super busy. They do have a drive thru. They take your number and it will text you whenever the food is ready. Iv tried to give this place a few times to get better each time its worse and worse the first time when they opened food was ok but the portion size for the price wasn't there the second time portions were a little better but food was very bland. Definitely not proud North Carolina barbecue and recently today I ordered a burger through the drive-through and sat there for 45 minutes waiting on my food for a simple burger food was disgusting fries tasted like oil and the burger was very unseasoned and no flavor at all !! AMAZING!!! We needed a quick stop traveling on 95 and stumbled on Daddy D's. It was listed as "hot and new" so we tried it.... And damn am I glad we did!!! Everything is made in-house, from their "flavor of the week" sausage (who knew Philly cheesesteak sausage was a thing, but holy cow IS it a thing and it should be a mandatory thing!) to the brisket (I live with a native Texan so when I say the brisket is phenomenal I'm risking a lot) to the hand-pulled pork and ALLLLL the sauces! Between the two of us we tried 4 meats, 4 sides, and the fried green tomatoes (which, by the way were absolute perfection). And everything was good. Not just good, more like "I ate so much I feel sick and I would do it again" GOOD. And I've got fresh apple cobbler, peach cobbler, and banana pudding in a bag sitting next to me for when I can start eating again. The service was crazy quick, the prices are ridiculously reasonable, and the sign outside made me giggle the entire meal. And if you go, ask for Jazmine! She's so sweet! read more

I stop in here whenever I am in the area, let me tell you, this place is outstanding. I've eaten at other barbecue restaurants in the area and you will straight up pay more for food that is not nearly as good. I have tried almost everything on the menu and every time I eat here it is consistently excellent. I smoke own BBQ as a hobby and you can tell the owners are passionate about their food and know what they are doing. I was talking to the staff and they let me know that it's a husband and wife team that own this and one other location in Fuquay Varina and that they love their staff, customers, and BBQ!! Do not miss this place, it is one of my top places to stop and eat. read more

Stopped here for dinner on my way home, I went through the drive through. It was pretty awesome that a bbq place had a drive though. I drove to the window, got the menu and took some time and decided on the chicken wings and the brisket sandwich. My service was fast and friendly, a little longer wait than the traditional drive through but that's to be expected. As far as the food, the chicken wings were amazing. Some of the best chicken wings I've ever had! I believe the menu says they are smoked then fried. I ordered the garlic Parmesan and the chicken itself was so flavorful. These wings would be a 6/5 on a 5 point rating scale and they are affordable as well. I believe I paid 5 dollars for 3 larger wings. The size to price value was really good. Next I had the brisket sandwich with fries. The brisket was just okay. It could be because I didn't have any bbq sauce to do with it but it was a little dry. The sandwich came with home made fries and those were really tasty as well. I will come again just for the fries and wings. Next time if I have more time, I will definitely come inside to have a meal! read more
