Excellent BBQ. The pork spareribs I ordered were incredibly tender in their sauce. They were tasty and would give them 5 stars. I asked for a side of sweet & spicy bbq sauce. I was given a vinegar based sauce with a thin consistency, a bit of heat and not sweet. No honey based bbq sauces are on offer. Just a few bbq sauce choices. I also ordered a side of Brunswick Stew that contained either pork or chicken or both. It was 5 star. I didn't care for banana pudding dessert. Come check them out. Establishment has a "southern country feel". I ordered carryout but place was packed for dinner on a Friday night and it was very noisy. Not an empty seat in the house. Place has a drive thru and it was full of cars as well.

Driving to Florida and stopped at the exit for a fuel fill. Had dog with us so ate in the car which was a little balancing act. I'm not a barbecue expert but was ok. The ribs really good, sides just average. Very nice people working there. Decent lunch spot if you are traveling.

Stormin normins is a really fun and cool establishment, my favorite employee was a young gentleman named Patrick he was so sweet and had charisma the food was 10/10 I would recommend anyone try it and maybe leave that young gentleman a tip

Went in for lunch today. There's no indoor seating because of the pandemic, but there is tables in front that are outside, but covered by a roof. The gentleman taking our order was super friendly. We ordered two fried chicken breasts, mashed potatoes and gravy, as well as coleslaw. The fried chicken was delicious, nice and crispy and excellent salty flavor. However, the chicken inside was not hot. The coleslaw was good and sweet, but tasted like it was from a store-bought factory made type. The mashed potatoes were okay, made from a powder mix. The gravy was better. The hush puppies were really good. I liked how small they were and I dipped them in my gravy.

KEEP DRIVING! I saw this from the highway and figured I could grab some bbq instead of fast food, on my way back North. I got the chicken and rib combo with cabbage and cole slaw. I was surprised to find the chicken was fried. I'm guessing I missed that on the sign. Once I got over it I jumped right into the chicken. Although the chicken looked like it had been sitting for a while, it had a very good taste. The chicken was clean, crunchy and delicious! As for the ribs, they tasted like they were made in the oven like Country ribs. They came sauced down in a pretty lite colored bbq sauce. If there was any "smoke" it was probably in the bbq sauce, certainly not the ribs. No need to talk about the sides!!! Let's just say the only reason I would ever stop here again is for the fried chicken.l

Great location, right off the highwau! Staff was phenomenal! Very polite, accommodating, patriotic, even offered to give us samples since it was our first time there. Some reviews were put off by the cafeteria style setup, but don't let that dissuade you from eating here! Everything we had was pretty damn good and there were a lotttt of options. We both ate for under $20, my fiance got the two meat platter and also added banana pudding (which he gives 5 stars across the board and won't stop raving about.) I had the pulled pork platter. Meat was very moist and flavorful. Loved their house BBQ sauce! I also had mash potatoes and gravy, which were excellent, and green beans. Hush puppies were probably some of the best I've ever had. I did manage to sneak a bite of the banana pudding before it was devoured, which was also tasty! The Nilla wafers were still crunchy, which apparently is a good sign! All areas seemed clean and I honestly don't have any complaints. Definitely worth the stop and I would probably eat here again, given the chance :)

This was a place we stopped at on a road trip. I am not Christian so that was an odd decoration for me. 10 commandments in the drive through and loads of anti vaccination signs. I am not offend by others views but I'd you are you want to choose someplace else. The food was ok. The lack of seasoning is a fault as well as box mashed potatoes were a huge no. I would not come here again.

Other than the prices and Wilber Shirley's absence, it really hadn't changed much in the past 20 years. The decor is "1960s eastern NC BBQ restaurant", which adds to the appeal. Service was friendly and attentive. Our drinks never went empty during our meal. The owner also stopped by to check on us as well. Our server brought us a small basket of hushpuppies, clearly just out of the fryer. While hot, the recipe had not changed over the years and were just as bland as always. Accompanying the hushpuppies was a small serving of some sort of sauce; it didn't had much flavor but I think it was supposed to be butter or at least buttery. My dining companion got the quarter-rack rib special. The ribs were meaty, very flavorful, and tender. They were good enough that the accompanying barbecue sauce really detracted from the ribs. The potato salad was as good as ever. The serving included 4 ribs for $12.50, which I thought was a very good value. I had my standard, the Pork Plate with slaw and potato salad. The serving of chopped pork was generous, but was too dry and over seasoned for my taste. The slaw was fine but unexceptional. The $12.56 price on the menu was a reasonable value, however after we paid we found out that we were charged $13.50. It turns out that the printed menus Wilber's provides in the restaurant don't reflect their latest prices on Toast. Our server did not mention anything about price discrepancies. The difference in prices doesn't seem like they are just rolling in the sales tax to the orders either. This is absolutely unacceptable and reflects a huge failure in judgement by the management and owner. Shame on you. All in all, our experience rates a four-star review. However, when taking the price discrepancies into account, Wilber's earns a 3-star review and that is generous. Restaurants need to accurately advertise their prices to their Customers, whether dining in or getting take out.

The only thing they don't have on the buffet is beef brisket, which is what we love, but all the food that we got the shredded pork, ribs, barbecue chicken, vegetables, bread...everything was really good. Many of the food items including the greens were not seasoned. The mashed potatoes, steak, and fried chicken were ok. And the hush puppies and cornbread weren't bad. The corn, banana pudding, baked beans, and Mac & cheese weren't good.
