I LOVE this little local place. I frequent it every time I pass by. Incredibly clean, well organized, and COVID-friendly. They have a sign on the door saying too social distance and wear a mask. Modest selection of really great wines. I was able to find a new pinot noir that I'm just dying to try out. "Dad" is a really nice, friendly guy that helped me out when he saw that I was browsing with no direction. Without his help I would've left with a one that I only felt lukewarm about. Instead, I left with something that I would love. He gives his honest opinion and will tell you if he's never tried it, but has customers that like it. I like that he helped me with my questions and made suggestions, but left the decision making up to me. Selections are modest-sized, but the majority of the wines are in the middle range in terms of pricing and there are the cheaper drinking wines available that you can grab and go. I do like that he's narrowed it down to the best. The beer selection is outstanding--he has a great number of dogfish that I will be trying out next time. Thanks again for the pleasant visit! We were in search of nonalcoholic beer for a tubing trip and called ahead to ask about their selection of nonalcoholic beers. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and had just what we needed. They store is kind of tucked away to the right of Popeyes, but is a great find. read more

When I came to Dad's, I was looking for the oasis in the middle of the desert. Yeah. We know how barren MoCo is when it comes to finding good wine stores (both breadth and depth of selections). Well I was under the illusion that at 4.5* rating and reviews of reasonable pricing, this store would be a cheaper version of Gilly's in Northern Rockville. This wine store caters to the mass market wine drinkers who usually don't venture beyond the typical brands such as Yellow Tail, Kendall Jackson, and Columbia Crest. If you take advantage of the 10% discount off wines on Tuesday like I did, this place will be one of the best stores for pricing of such wines. They have some wines above this price range but the selection is rather limited. While I probably won't be going back b/c they don't carry the selection of wines I want, I won't and can't dock the ratings down for this store because I know many in the immediate area will find this place a good place to pick up cheap wine on the go. read more

I was pleasantly surprised how organized it was at Dad's Beer and Wine. It's a great name it seemed like a very orderly place for men who were shopping quickly for something they already knew they wanted. The one staff was very friendly and helpful I was looking for a bottle of sake for a dinner party and he walked me to the rack. He also told me about Tuesday 10% discount for bottles of wine. It was perfect!! The sake selection was limited but they had the popular sake with rice suspension. That worked for me. read more

New shop hidden on 355. The place is clean, neat, and organized. Besides going there to get my 30's, the place has a GREAT selection of 6-packs! For the more mature nights (aka the ones where i will attempt (but eventually fail) to get laid), I'll walk over with my guest/s and we will each pick an odd 6-pack to bring back to the condo. I love this place! They are always super friendly and accommodating. It's appropriately named "Dad's" because it has a real "mom and pop" feel to it. For being a small place, they have a pretty good selection. And if you want something they don't have- they will get it for you. I feel like the guys who work here are my buddies. Dads is a classy establishment. I live right across the street and while most of the other places on that strip leave a bit to be desired (it's right next to awful Chinese and Pizza restaurants), this place is clean and they have a great selection. The place is on the smaller side but you're always greeted with a smile and the owner and his son are both two of the nicer people I've met in retail. They were open in the middle of the terrible blizzard this year and they always keep very good hours. Easily my favorite beer location in Montgomery County. read more

LOVE this place, little hole in the wall in an easy-to-miss strip mall but luckily the big Giant food store makes it easy to find. Dad's is a great, family-owned and operated business with a shockingly good selection. I am a huge fan of both local and hard-to-find beers and they always have both. This place is the best! Right near Giant, always clean and organized. The store is owned by a dad (hence the name) and son duo who are seriously the nicest people. They remembered my fiance and I after 1 visit and always chit chat. We love to try new beers and George, the son, always has good recommendations. We unfortunately moved way out of driving distance but even when we were moving they helped us by collecting boxes. They are also trying to start wine and beer tastings in the shop and open a 2nd location in Potomac with tapas. I cannot say enough good things! read more
