The team is incredibly personable and works together like a fine-tuned machine. The night started with the Gourmet Hot & Cold Table. Knowing the large variety of meat that would soon be brought to the table, we sampled just a few things so we wouldn't fill up too quickly. When we returned to our seats, the thoughtful staff had already left us their signature cheese bread, caramelized bananas, and polenta. All of them hit the spot while we enjoyed our cold bar samplers. Next came the main event: the meat service. The food arrived flavorful, piping hot, and exceptionally high quality. The staff is very accommodating, regularly stopping by to see if there is any particular cut we wanted them to bring to our table. From the New York Strip, brisket, and sausages to the Parmesan pork and lamb, everything was cooked to perfection and utterly delicious. To top it all off, we were celebrating our anniversary, and the restaurant surprised us with dessert. We chose the Tres Leches, and it was the absolute perfect ending to the meal. This restaurant rivals other brazilian steakhouses with its amazing cuts of meat, salad bar, and cocktails. I would recommend this over Fogo any day and really enjoyed my time there. They have plenty of people cutting, so there is constantly some type of meat circulating the room, and the flavor was perfect in each one. Our server was very attentive, and since everyone shares responsibility, we never had to wait too long for plates to be cleared or glasses filled. Look forward to coming back with a group, perfect place to overwhelm yourself with food. Our only complaint was that we had a reservation, but because of some delays, we were seated an hour after the reservation. Obviously the grilled meats are the specialty at Terra Gaucha, and they certainly met my expectations. Some of the cuts I enjoyed were New York strip, filet mignon, top sirloin, lamb chop and chicken drumstick. In addition, there was also grilled shrimp and grilled pineapple. The green-red scheme for indicating wanting or not wanting the grilled foods servers to come table side is present here like at other Brazilian barbecue restaurants; here the green-red objects are paperboard chips. The gourmet bar offered a wide array of mostly cold but some hot items to consume as appetizers or side items. One could even order only gourmet bar all-you-can-eat buffet and make a hearty meal out of that despite not having any of the grilled items. Even with reservations, we waited about 15 minutes :-( Ashley, the host, was friendly from the moment we arrived. I loved her positive energy and welcoming vibe. Our servers, Jen and Bianca, were great. They explained how everything worked, checked in regularly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout this experience. Ashley even stopped by our table (at the end of her shift) to see how we were enjoying everything. She recommended the grilled pineapple. I'm so glad she did because it was delicious! Parking is convenient with 2 hours free, though finding the restaurant from the underground garage was a bit confusing due to insufficient signage. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the ambiance was comfortable with nice seating. The market table had a good variety and everything I tried was fresh, though a few items looked a bit dry. The meats were the highlight; very flavorful and well-cooked. The leg of lamb, salmon, and sausage stood out in particular. The shrimp was a bit overcooked, and some sides were disappointing (cold mashed potatoes and overly sweet items like the pineapple on a skewer and fried bananas DRENCHED in syrup or honey?). Luckily, the market table had fresh pineapple, papaya, kiwi, and dragon fruit to end the meal. Service was attentive and appreciated. Overall, a great spot for the meats, with a few areas that could improve. IMO, a 3.5 I rounded up to 4. Note: It is important for servers to explain menu offerings, options, and RESTRICTIONS for specials; especially for first time diners, rather than expecting guests to already understand the menu and pricing. Once you're back at your table, you're served sides like mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, and fried bananas. All very tasty. This place is outstanding! The customer service was out of this world. I went in Feb 15th on a Sunday and I reserved a table for two and did not have to wait too long after my reservation. Maybe 8mins. They put us in the back where it was more quiet and I loved that! It was more Romantic vibe. The side dishes were good! Potato salad and chicken salad were one of my favorites. All the meat options were good too! The filet minion wrapped in bacon was my favorite and the lamp. Well worth coming here! Happy this place finally opened up. Came here for an early Mother's Day dinner. Place was decorated really nice and the bar had same format as Fogo de Chao. I did like that the tables weren't packed in like they are there. We go to Fogo all the time and still like it, but I liked that here, they actually brought out every meat listed on their menu, without us asking for something. I also liked that they included the grilled pineapple and dessert. That is different for sure. Service was outstanding ... The location is very close to a parking garage with ample space. I went on a weekday for lunch so I did not have to pay for garage parking. I didn't catch the price per hour. The restaurant is right on the corner with a few street parking spots. The staff are very friendly from the moment you enter until you step out. Every employee is very attentive! The salad and side dish station was fresh and gets refilled often. There's also white rice, scalloped potatoes, feijoada, and a chicken stew. There was also plenty of vegetables, cold cuts and fruits. The selection of meats compares to Fogo and other Brazilian churrascarias. Pork, chicken, filet mignon, beef rib, variety of sausages, lamb, there was also shrimp but stated coming out as we left. I am sure I am missing more cuts but was too excited eating that I kept saying yes to the servers. There's also three private rooms for approximately 40 people each if you want to have a private event. The bar is also very well stocked and I appreciated the waiter offering a caipirinha. My only disappointment was the dessert. I selected the molten chocolate cake and for $12 and I was expecting a more. More ice cream and warmer. It also took a long time to come out. I came here for my cousin's birthday, I helped her choose it after working the Black and Gold event held here last week. I didn't recognize any of the servers from the first party but event though we had new ones, it was still great service. They were so attentive! I ordered a caipirinha & it was amazing. One of our attendees ordered the drink that was supposed to be smoky and she had to send it back twice. The manager, Rodney, brought it out and the drink did what it was supposed to then. One thing I noticed was that when we asked for our meat to be well done the first time, the rest of the meat came out like that... I love that!! First time here, I was already having a standard from my experience previous at Fogo de Chao. I gotta say I'm very much impressed with everything. To start off, the market table is beautiful. So many colors of a variety of fruits, veggies, salads, cheese and just so many to lists. The meats were great, all temps available, hot and not too salty!!! I was happy to find out they offer brisket AND parmesan pork! For the drinks, we were having a hard time deciding what flavors caipirinhas my husband and I wanted. Enjoyed our first lunch visit to Terra Gaucho and am happy to see them join the Rockville food scene. First impressions are lasting and we absolutely enjoyed the ambiance, friendly and attentive staff and quality of food. The restaurant was packed today for the holiday, but this was not an issue for the new staff. The hot and cold table was well stocked and was being replenished every few minutes. We did find the area around the hot/cold table to be somewhat small but since the star of the meal is the meat, this wasn't an issue. The gaucho's were friendly, and were able to bring you meats to your preferred doneness if what they had wasn't to your liking. Our server (Kyle) was insanely attentive and was quick to refill our drinks, as well as replacing our plates with clean ones. We frequent a few other Brazilian steakhouses in the area, and have our favorites. Terra Gaucha far exceeds local competitors when it comes to service and quality of meats. I look forward to becoming a Terra Gaucha regular as our all time favorite Brazilian steakhouse is much further away in Virginia. read more

I purposely waited a couple weeks to try this place. They recently opened and had a couple of weeks to get their bearings. Their service is top notch. They filled our waters very regularly and asked if we wanted clean plates 5 times. They made sure we were satisfied and asked us what specifically we wanted, which we said lamb and within minutes, lamb was out for us. It was Sunday brunch time. Staffing was fully stocked when we got there. There was noticeably more staff than customers. This was just fun to see. The food was nicely prepared and very comparable to the other brand, but one thing I noticed is that the preparation was more detailed. Perhaps it's because this is a very new place, but that's why I wanted to come here while it's new. Also, I liked the fact that the square footage of this place is manageable. You can see people walking around in multiple laps and there will be more people around your table than you can manage. You won't feel like you have been waiting for food for very long. We had to constantly flip from green to red just to have time to finish our plate. We felt like we got our monies worth. I think it's currently the golden time to come try this place. read more

Not only are the meats tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, service has been on point during each visit so far (I've gone twice since they recently opened!). My wife and I went to Terra Gaucha for an early Mother's Day lunch yesterday, and overall we were extremely impressed with the experience. The restaurant was absolutely packed, and I overheard multiple people being told the wait would be at least an hour. Thankfully, I had made a reservation. Even though we arrived about 15 minutes late because of parking, since it was just the two of us, we only ended up waiting around 10-15 minutes to be seated. Right away, I was impressed by the design of the restaurant. It has a much more modern and upscale feel compared to other Brazilian steakhouses in the area. The hosts and servers were all smiling and welcoming, and one of the hosts even came over personally to explain how everything worked. It felt familiar but refreshed, and the customer service immediately stood out. Once we got our drinks, we headed to the salad bar. At first glance it seemed similar to competitors, but then I started noticing all the little upgrades. The cooked shrimp, the wider fruit selection (the mangos were perfect), and the variety of hot dishes really elevated it. The scalloped potatoes and steak rice were excellent, and even the cucumber salad had avocado. Everything looked incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Then the meat service started, and that's where Terra Gaucha really separated itself for me. The steaks were noticeably less salty than most Brazilian steakhouses, which allowed the actual flavor and tenderness of the meat to shine. Even the sides tasted fresher and more refined. The fried polenta came with a pink sauce that honestly took it to another level. The picanha was very good, but the standout for me was the brisket -- something you almost never hear at a Brazilian steakhouse. It was fantastic. Their New York strip was also incredible: perfectly crusted on the outside while staying tender and juicy inside. Easily one of the best steak cuts I've had at a Brazilian steakhouse. Even the fried cheese with honey tasted better than what I've had elsewhere. We finished with dessert and ordered the flan and chocolate cake. Both had generous portions and great flavor. The flan was thicker than the traditional style, but honestly, that's exactly how I like it. To top it off, they were running a Mother's Day promotion where moms receive a complimentary meal on a future visit, which was a really nice touch. Overall, Terra Gaucha feels like a genuine step up from Fogo de Chão and is a very welcomed addition to the Rockville area. Familiar experience, but elevated in almost every category. By far, the best Brazilian Steakouse we've been to! I was in CT less than a week ago and I got to try their Stamford location and I already thought it was good. I especially enjoyed how consistently cooked and well-seasoned their cuts were. They recently opened a branch in Rockville, MD so we decided to go. Considering how well my experience in CT went, they did not disappoint. Our experience at the new branch was even better than expected. The manager and staff were super friendly and attentive. They made sure we always had a clean plate and our cups were always full. They offered caipirinha flights, which were fresh and refreshing. They also offered a caipirinha cart if that's more to your preference. Their buffet has a wide selection of salads that pair well with their meats. My favorites were the mango salad and their yogurt parfait. Their steak cuts was the best part of the whole experience. They have the widest variety of meats we've had. Upon being seated we were introduced to our awesome waiter Luis who explained the process since this was our first time. Basically you have a " food bar" which you can get items anytime such as fruits, vegetables, and side dishes and at the same time you have this coaster that you can flip to let the waiter who bring various type of meat know if you want some or not. They have a lot of selection at the food bar which was nice and all the staff was very attentive such as refilling our water, swapping our plate for new ones, and always checking in to see if we needed anything frequently. Even the manager Zack introduce himself and check in on our table to see how we were doing. I can't really remember all the different type of meat but some were season just right while other was a bit to salty but combine with the vegetables from the food bat it balance itself out nicely. They even have shrimp and a cooked pineapple which tasted very good. After the main meal was done it was on to dessert and we had the cheese cake, cream brûlée, and since it was my sister birthday they gave her a free B-day dessert and even sang a song lol. The cheese cake portion was big so you get your money worth and the taste was amazing. After we were ready to leave they even gave a nice gift card for 25 dollar off on the next visit for the B-day girl which was cool. The salad bar was full of fresh dishes, but who cares about veggies when there's meat to be eaten, right? Nice to see shrimp and salmon brought around too. The lack of communication had me hesitant to give it another try but we did finally go for lunch this week. Overall, I would say Terra Gaucha is superior to Fogo de Chao in North Bethesda in terms of meat quality, selection of sides, and price. Some meats were a bit of a miss and overcooked or underseasoned, but some stood out such as the picanha and the NY strip. We really enjoyed the grilled pineapple. I do feel like the gauchos are definitely friendlier at Fogo, I did get a lot of blank stares and grunts and Terra Gaucha. We tried this new Brazilian steakhouse for lunch and it was a great experience! The best thing about it was hands down the meats. In the space of one hour and 15 minutes of dining they served us flank steak, garlic steak, filet mignon, pork sausage, lamb cutlet, rib steak, ribeye, bacon wrapped steak, pork belly, picanha, top sirloin, NY strip, and brisket with bbq sauce, as well as shrimp and chicken and other pork meats. The meats were succulent and seasoned well! Sometimes, when you offer massive amounts of meats they are individually not as well cooked or seasoned but this was not the case here. The rib meat tasted like Korean galbitang meat. It was slow cooked, rich and delicious. I loved the flank and garlic steak, ny strip, and ribeye the most. Pork sausage was really flavorful. However, the lamb was a bit bland. I noticed that the meats here were not overcooked and you could get medium rare that was actually medium rare! The meats came out quickly and there wasn't a long wait to get the meat that you want. We went for lunch and were told you can get all the same meats for lunch as you would at dinner. There was bacon by the hot foods. Make sure to try some. It was crispy in the meaty areas but the fatty area just melted in your mouth. It was the most delicious morsel, seasoned well and not too sweet. Oh, you have to try it. Those little Brazilian breads which I love were sadly not that good here. They were a bit tasteless, but the delicious meats more than made up for it. We asked about the lobster bisque which we had seen online but apparently they do not serve it at the Rockville location. The space is not large but the tables are spaced enough apart and feel private. The cold buffet is good but has less items than other Brazilian steakhouses we are familiar with. All the cold food times were tasty though. The smoked salmon was good, but it comes in very small pieces and I would like to see more acoutrements for the smoked salmon like chopped red onion. If you get the cold buffet, chicken and fish are included in that price. The service was attentive and they came to check on us frequently. They tried to seat us near the entry even when the restaurant was quite empty but were flexible when I requested a different table. The bathrooms were nice and super clean, which is always a plus. I hope they will sustain this overall excellence. The quality of the meats in particular was really high. Well done, Terra Gaucha! Brazilian steakhouse is a must (at least) once e a year. I've been eyeing this new spot since I heard they were coming to the pike. Let's preface this by saying I did not take photos because I was with a couple of family friends for a mini reunion. The place was popping as I expected, even for a chilly rainy Saturday night. I made reservations which it seemed majority of the people that walked in did as well. I have to say I'm grateful for the service and grace given for half our party being late due to the horrible rain and traffic. Thank you, Terra Gaucha! We got seated and the waitress learned we were not new to the Brazilian steakhouse restaurant scene. I immediately headed to the salad bar to check out what was available. I am happy to share they had mango that made my taste buds sing. As an island girl, that's an automatic score. I admit I never get much from the salad bar, however, they had good options. Salads. Fruits. Rice. Potatoes, Cheeses. You name it; they had it. Then I sat down and was ready to flip to green. Immediately the meats started coming. Picahña is always a favorite. Tender, juicy melts in your mouth bite after bite. Another surprise was the pork belly. Yes, please. It was juicy and tender. Not too fatty for me given the thick slices. Then came the grilled pineapple. As you can see the trend of goodness was rolling in back to back. I mean common. Mango, pineapple, high quality meats. Fried cheese made its way to our table. The limemade was highly enjoyable. I didn't get any adult beverage this time. I'll be back and see how their mojitos are. Terra Gaucha has become the new go to for Brazilian steakhouse.
