My parents went here back In there day but unfortunately things have definitely changed . They have Above average pricing on pretty much everything . The owner and wife are super entitled and rude . Came in for a quick stop before a round of golf and some lady In a Covid mask took my ID for a good 20 mins , telling me it was fake and she wouldn't sell to me . She then gave it to an older man who seemed to be the owner and he said the same thing . I get it I look kind of young but I've never had this issue in my entire life , and I got my DL from the DMV less than 2 weeks ago and they still were very very suspicious and rude . I understand double checking ids but these guys took it for a power trip and wouldn't give it back for at least 30 mins time . I ended up having to give the guy my pilots license aswell and he was still super doubtful and rude ... are u kidding me ! . Basically if you're under 30 or you don't wanna spend 30 mins buying crap liquor , dont come here unless you want to be treated with disrespect and no appreciation for supporting a local business. This was our favorite story living in the area. Service was always friendly, they are well-stocked with an endless selection! Prices are fair and they are open late. Easy parking right out front and a short walk to the beach, located right off the freeway. Excellent option for the area! read more

I really like the store, my cousin, and I stopped by for some extra camping supplies lol. We were greeted with great customer service, and a variety of options. The prices were very reasonable, and the ambience of the store was good, as the owners played old-school R&B at low volumes. read more

I have been going to Dad's to use their Western Union for a couple years and today I was told the boss will no longer allow money to be sent to Cuba. Western Union allows these transactions so I am not sure why Dad's is unilaterally discriminating against this very poor country and punishing the innocent people in Cuba, one of whom happens to be my husband. The people in Cuba are suffering much more than we are right now and the small amount of money that I want to send my husband will help him buy necessities like food and soap. This is disgraceful! There are a lot of other liquor stores in San Clemente so I would suggest you go to one that does not unilaterally decide to discriminate against a poor country like Cuba. read more

For the uninformed person from San Francisco who left the negative review of Dad's because they asked your relationship to the person you were sending money to via Western Union. Obviously you haven't heard of all of the overseas scams causing millions upon millions of losses to Americans sending money overseas. It is a small price to pay to answer a question, for the potential to help others who have no idea they are sending their life savings to scammers. And as far as their less than positive response to you, probably has something to do with your negative attitude and lack of respect for those who know what is going on and are attempting to possibly help those, like you, who are unaware. middle aged lady accused me and my friends of putting food in our pockets within the first minute of us being in there because my friend put his hands in his pocket, she then made said friend empty his pockets (which were empty). Might just be that one Employee but I wont be coming back. read more

I tried to send something in that store because they had Western Union, then they get in my business asking me, and then they told me "no, think about it. We will not send. We don't want you to get hurt." I just want to cut myself because that was not their business to ask me about it and I am still angry at them for thinking about it. This is the kind of customer service I get???? They were utmost disrespectful and rude to get into my business like that. Do not go to that store because their behavior towards me was not acceptable. Horrible, like why what happen to honest ppl bought a 25oz coors light come to my hotel open it up take a sip and its just rotten stale aluminum tasting beer. No help from the person at the store like its policy cant exchange or refund which i did not ask for.
