This was one of the best KBBQ spots that I've been to in the area. Our server's name was Isaac, and he was so attentive and speedy, and made sure that our food was cooked to perfection! We did the all-you-can-eat option and tried the top steak, spicy Bulgogi, brisket, and spicy top steak. My favorite was a spicy bogey and the seasoned top steak. Checked out Chadol (newly opened in February) on a Saturday evening for my birthday celebration. It wasn't overly crowded, and the atmosphere was great. A dark ambiance without blasting loud K-pop like Iron Age, so you can actually carry on a conversation. We did the All-You-Can-Eat ($45.28/person, 90-minute limit). The meat quality is top-tier, and our server, Ria, was incredible. She cooked all of our meats at the table and nailed a perfect medium on the top blade steak. Food Highlights: * Spicy Bulgogi: My absolute favorite....sweet and spicy perfection. * Soy Top Blade Steak: Deliciously sweet and savory, again, cooked perfectly. * Plain Brisket: Pairs amazingly with the salt and sesame oil combination Ria recommended. * Curry Pork Belly: Gets a great crispy crust with a nice, subtle curry flavor (just wish it was a bit saucier) * Spicy Brisket: Very solid with a good kick. * Sides: The soybean soup was spicy with plenty of tofu and paired great with white rice. Summary: Newish spot in the Wilde Lake community area that offers both a traditional KBBQ experience or an AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) Option for $45 a person. Normally, when I go to an AYCE place, I feel like I'm giving up some quality in favor of quantity, but it's just so hard for me to pass up the option when it's there. We decided to opt into the AYCE option ($45/person, but $24 if you're between ages 5-10). The service was very speedy and kind. They definitely have a system here and it works. The staff seemed on top of things and everything was very organized. The decor was modern , sleek, and clean. The way the process works is that you typically order about 3 types of meat to start off with your selection of sides. Once they start cooking your third meat, they ask if you want to put in an order for more meat. The portion sizes aren't too bad given that it's AYCE-style. I'd say that for one "serving," a table of 6 adults can probably get like 2-3 pieces of the cut. For reference, when we ordered the pork belly, we got 2 slabs of pork belly. (Of course, you also have the option to order more.) Now the important part, the taste. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and the flavor. Everything was delicious and tender. We ordered a top blade steak option and I feel like it's a type of cut that very commonly comes out tough and chewy. It wasn't the case here. The bulgogi marinade was delicious and everything was on point. The server made their rounds on time - in KBBQ world, I feel like the metric is, do they let the meat burn if you don't supervise it yourself. They did a great job from top to bottom. Made reservations online which was easy and convenient, saved us a wait on a Friday night. Got seated quickly, the place is nice more upscale vibes. My BF and I take Korean BBQ seriously. I don't know how to explain it but I did come here with an open mind. I must say. I was NOT disappointed! When coming from Vegas, the things we look for in Korean BBQ is service and also meat quality. Well, Chadol exceeded my expectations. The offers were great! Even though it was simple, I truly enjoyed my experience here. They had an a la carte option and also an AYCE option, which we did. They had a special to add NY Strip and that was probably one of the best decisions we made! Even though the AYCE menu was limited, the meat quality was worth the price! I enjoyed the sides, along with the minimal appetizers offered, but when there's meat, you don't really need that many appetizers. I especially loved the grilled squid! It came to in an aluminum tin and went right onto the grill! Service was truly amazing, since the server came and actually grilled the meat for us which we haven't seen in a while, not many places do that anymore. If you are looking for KBBQ close by, then this place wouldn't be so bad. If you're looking for the best KBBQ in the DMV though, skip this place. We had many of the traditional Korean barbecue meats, including pork belly, beef brisket, pork jowl, bulgogi, top blade steak, regular steak, chicken, etc. Overall, the meats weren't bad but they felt not as up to par compared to other places in NoVa like Oegadgib and Sō. The brisket here wasn't as fatty and delicate, and the pork belly wasn't as tender as other places. The top end steak was the best thing, packed with flavor and savoriness. I found the other meats like the chicken and bulgogi a tad too sweet for my liking. The sides were limited at our table. No beansprouts, pickled onion, or other types of kimchi apart from the napa cabbage one. Salad was also included, but again i found it to be a bit heavy and sweet with the dressing compared to when they use gochugaru and oil. We did get radish and kimchi but we continually had to keep asking for more. Usually at other spots, if you ask for extra banchan, they will give you a lot so you don't have to keep asking but for here, we kept on getting small plates. We kept on having to ask almost every time our waiter came around, along with everything else including water, rice, sauces, etc. Not necessarily bad but other KBBQ spots will see these things and refill or give you more immediately without you having to ask. The atmosphere was nice and felt classy. The grill though was a bit weak but the pans they used were nonstick so they required less changing than traditional ones. I also found the dipping sauces that came by default were lacking oomph like what comes at other places. Our total bill ended up to be $55 a person, so for that price, I would have much rather eaten at other spots like Honey Pig or Iron Age. I am a big fan of the Chadol restaurant group and so happy its made its way to Hoco. I stopped by recently with friends during their soft opening. The cuts of meats were fresh and the service was great. We opted for the AYCE menu. We enjoyed everything from the brisket, top blade steak, pork belly, and pork jowl. All of the cuts did not taste like they were once frozen. The banchan spread was beautiful and the soy bean soup had the right amount of spice. They even include shin ramen in the AYCE menu. My friends and I really enjoyed our experience here. The ambience was dark and intimate. We saw plenty of families and children enjoying their meals. Our server was attentive. Quality meat! I've been the Chadol location in Rockville and thought I'd try their new location in Columbia. Typically you'll find the Korean spots in Ellicott City when it comes to Howard County; so I'm glad to see this location in a different area. It's been about a month since this location opened and I have to say the meat quality is never disappointing. The AYCE (all you can eat) opinion is a must try at least once and worth every penny. Our waiter was Isaac who was amazing. I'll be trying to request him if possible when I make future reservations at this location. Our meat of choice was: Brisket Galbi Pork Belly Curry Pork Belly Soy Top Blade Top Blade Steak Sides: Korean ramen Fried dumplings Rice Kimchi Radish Corn Salad For AYCE, you get half off premium meats, however, we didn't get to do that because what we chose from the main meats was satisfying. Perhaps next time. The curry pork belly was a first for me. I loved the crispy texture from the grilled pork that was dressed in curry. I'm drooling thinking about it. All the meats were tender. The kimchi was great in flavor. All the sides were good. Overall, it's one of the top Korean BBQ spots on my list. There is an à la cart option if you're not wanting to pick the AYCE option. My family eats kbbq about twice a month. Meaning I've been to nearly every spot in the Howard county, Baltimore, and DC. I'll say this is the best AYCE until you get to So down in NoVa. Huge portions, big variety of marinated and non marinated meats, and very fair prices. One thing I liked about chadol was the server did all the cooking, as someone with a chronic back injury it's nice to not have to do the cooking. The restaurant has a nice rustic meets modern vibe that feels warm and inviting. We decided to try the AYCE option ($45 for adults and $24 for kids ages 5-10). We sampled the brisket, seasoned top blade steak, seasoned pork belly, pork jowl, garlic shrimp, and also paid extra to try the premium jumulleock marinated beef. We added a few included sides like ramen and fried dumplings as well. Most of the meats were decent, but unfortunately the premium jumulleock (which we paid extra for) was surprisingly bland and underwhelming. We did let our server know, and she said she would inform the manager. Additionally, some of the fried dumplings were over-fried and too hard, and my daughter didn't want to eat them. Overall, while the experience wasn't terrible, it felt a bit pricey compared to other AYCE Korean BBQ spots we've tried, especially considering the quality and flavor didn't quite stand out. They are finally open! I ran in today as I swung past the UPS Store and it was so thrilled to see that they are finally open! This used to be the Melting Pot and I'm glad they did something with it. Attended soft opening and the food quality is the highlight of my experience! It was delicious kbbq and rivals the others in Ellicott City. We did the AYCE menu and had about 10 orders of meat between 3 of us. Given they just opened, there were some setbacks with organization -- especially with the host and miscommunication about taking reservations (we called ahead and they stated they do not accept any reservations, but upon entering they asked if we had one and then put us on a waitlist where we watched everyone else with reservations get seated ahead of us for about 30 minutes). Over the years, the best Korean BBQ spots have all gone downhill. When I discovered Chadol in Rockville, my girlfriend and I would make the hour long drive to get quality KBBQ. Now, it's only ten minutes away and the quality is on par with the Rockville location. Tonight, we were lucky enough to have David as our server! He was attentive and checked in on us regularly.
