It is always a joy to discover a family-owned, local floral shop. I had not known about Daffodils until I was gifted an elegant potted pink orchid from here. From looking at the web site, it is clear the the level of creativity is high, and I note that Daffodils offers plants and gift baskets in addition to floral arrangements, which is good to know. For the last 4 years I go here to get Valentine's Day flowers, same order of dozen purple Tulips with 6 pink ones. I call a week in advance, pay over the phone, give her the time I will be in then when I come in she hands me the the flowers that she has wrapped up for me. She quickly explains if I need to cut them or not then I say thanks and leave. Very smooth process plus the staff are friendly and knowledge so you can trust them. Very friendly, give you 100% attention and will work with you and talk through what you want. -- Quality of the flowers. Gorgeous! and gorgeous flowers = gorgeous arrangements. -- Talented staff. Any arrangement or other floral product I have purchased has always been beautiful. They never make anything without asking questions and showing what they have in the store. -- Speed. What do I mean? I needed a corsage made like NOW. "No problem. What color is the dress? any embellishments we should know about?" that is all they needed to know - 20 minutes later we had the corsage and a potentially embarrassing situation avoided. Cons: -- Price. But you know, like I always say, big box is ok - I go there all the time, but if you want quality, you gotta pay for quality. But please note that their staff ask what you want to pay and work within your budget. Also, this place is one block from my home - gotta keep it local and feed my local small businesses who go the extra mile for customers and do a great job - that is worth the extra $$. read more

This is my new go-to florist, 100%. I received a bouquet as a gift and it's beautiful. It came wrapped in festive tissue paper and twine and smells SO fresh. My parents (the orderers) said the shop owner was delightful to talk to and it was delivered right on time. read more

I have received flowers from this shop on several occasions from the BF...yes, I am one lucky girl! I understand that they prefer to call you to make sure that you are home, but it somewhat ruins the surprise of receiving flowers...that are supposed to be a surprise. The last time she called me, she asked me if I could pick up the flowers if I was in the area, which I politely declined considering my boyfriend paid for the delivery...she did offer more flowers for free in return for me coming into the store. That aside, the flowers are always very beautiful and they give me exactly what he requests each time. The flowers always last at least a week, which is pretty good for hand cut flowers. My boyfriend stopped into the shop last week, and he said he was surprised at how much everything cost. He gives the shop a 4 for uniqueness and a 2.5-3 for the flowers. I opt for the 3 b/c I dont have to pay for them...I am only the lucky recipient ;) read more

I tell her my price range, and any specifics (colors,flowers) and she comes up with the most beautiful arrangement. I love supporting independent businesses and she has been here for 18 years! I also appreciate when she asks me how the arrangement is and tells me how to care for them. I have also gotten some gifts as well. She has this assortment of Korean skin care that I have been loving as well as my friends and family. Like who doesn't want Korean skin care these days. I believe it is called Atomy it's super affordable compared to korean skin care at like sephora and ulta. Any who I love coming here for flowers of course and the occasional skin care when I run out. I recommend this place 1000%. Plus she is always there! I can come in for a last minute arrangement and she never fails to give me her best! read more

Picture this: the funeral of a co-worker's mom is Saturday noon, and Friday at 10:30pm, you suddenly remember that you were supposed to bring the flower arrangment from your team! You try several online flower sites, only to encounter at least one of the following problems with each one: 1) does not process that discount code it said it would, 2) $15.00 "processing fee" (on top of the delivery charge) that they forgot to mention until after you enter your credit card, or 3) they cannot guarantee delivery in time. You find Daffoldil's after a Google search, check out their web site and find a perfect arrangement. You dial the number to leave a VM, but they answer (it's 10:30pm). You explain the situation, they commit to having the arrangement ready by 11:00am the next day, and they take your credt card. The next morning, you arrive at Daffoldil's at 11:00am, and the arrangement -- looking even better than the web site pic --- is ready. You were provided a credit card receipt for the exact amount expected, given a free card for the arrangement, and thanked for your business with a sincere smile. You are very happy. read more

My mom sent me flowers from Daffodil for my birthday a few days back. The arrangement was seriously so boring and unattractive that I threw the arrangement in the garbage after three hours. I guess that I just couldn't tolerate having such a subpar arrangement in view. The arrangement was also fairly tall, so I was having trouble ignoring it. Anyhow, grain of salt. I needed a bouquet for my daughter's graduation. I said, make it kind of cool and not too traditional or ordinary. Boy did they make an awesome bouquet. Everyone loved it and my daughter most importantly was very impressed! I came in at 9am and I returned in 30 minutes. Due to its convenience, I've tried Daffodils three separate times, always hoping my last experience was on outlier, but I have been disappointed every time and I am now done with them. The prices are outrageous. They seem to operate on Valentine's day pricing everyday. They will be offended if you drop in on a random day and look for a simple bouquet for under $40. The pricing wouldn't be as much of an issue if the quality was high, but the quality just isn't there. The flowers are not very impressive and often look picked over and a few days past their prime. I wont be going back, and I would only recommend the shop to someone as a last resort. read more

Recently received a bouquet from this place- flowers were not fresh as guaranteed, and the florist refused to make an exchange or a refund. Please, do your research and find other locations where you will get what you paid for. I paid $80 for a bouquet that was described as being 20 inches in height- and with guaranteed freshness. What I received did NOT reflect that amount. The arrangement was BARELY 14 inches in height and the roses had ripped petals that were already dry at the edges- and this was on EVERY petal. I was told by the florist (over phone) to take off the so called "cover- petals"' which are always ripped or dry, and are meant to protect the rest of the flower. However, ALL of the petals reflected the condition of the cover petal. The florist refuses to re- deliver or make a discount. It has only been TWO days and the flowers are already dying. I could have gotten cheaper flowers at a local drug store, with far better quality. Do not fall into the trap. It is obvious that the florists here do not value their customers and business. read more

I received flowers from my husband for Valentines day and a box of generic chocolates (looked like the ones for .99 cents at Walgreens, seriously only 5 chocolates were in the box and they were gross). When I was looking on the website and saw they were charging $15 for this I almost passed out. The complete absurdity of that was beyond compare. The flowers were okay. I sent back the first ones b/c the roses all had brown deadish petals around the edges and the small purple ones were all droppy. (The only good thing was the customer service. They apologized and offered to bring out a new arrangement, which I did appreciate). The second order was not much better. It was very generic for the price. I would not recommend this place at all and wish I could gey my husband a refund. read more

Came here on a Saturday morning. There are two signs saying that she's open and no one's here. You call the phone number and it just rings. If you're out on a delivery why not put up a sign saying that you'll be back at a certain time? How about the phone number being connected to your cell phone? i have visited daffodils on several occassions and have experienced mixed reviews unfortunately many being negative... my last visit i purchased a large plant in a white porcelain planter for $85- very pretty but a bit too big for the space we had in mind. the next day, i asked if i could exchange it for another which didn't seem to be a problem... in exchange, i got a small windowsill plant for my bathroom (which i have purchased from here before for $10) and a bouquet of flowers which consisted of 4 small hydrangeas and some greenery... my original purchase was for $85, i was told my exchange purchase was comparable... seriously?! i should have just kept the damn plant... this will be my last time returning to daffodils... my advice to those who live in the area: venture down to pistil & vine on damen... much more affordable, better selection of flowers, and amazing customer service... read more

Grocery store quality flowers at boutique prices. The flowers are not fresh- it's unacceptable to sell a $75 bouquet with wilting flowers. The staff has no expertise to offer. When I pointed out that flowers were wilted, I was told that this type of flower just looks that way - which I know is not true. I'm not sure why anyone would come here when Pistil & Vine is around the corner. read more

I think this florist is great. We went in to buy some fresh cut flowers. They were beautiful and reasonably priced. The flowers came with tips on how to keep it longer. It's been 2 wks and my hydrangeas have not wilted! I also asked about some spotting on my cactus and only had pictures with me. It was hard for her to diagnose but she pulled out some reference books to try to research it for me. The service is absolutely above and beyond. read more

I am a florist living in the neighborhood and this evening I was in need of flowers from a nearby shop. I was in a bind so I ran into daffodils. I was treated pleasantly. It is a cute little shop with plants and little trinkets. However, I asked for a $30 arrangement and walked out with a $40 that looked like a $10 arrangement. The product was fine but the arrangement just looked cheap and thrown together. I went home and fixed it myself. Won't be going back. read more
