This is an awesome place to enjoy craft beers with a group! I came on a Monday night, which was a holiday, and our group of 7 was able to easily grab a table on the upper floor. I love the laid-back environment. We knew in advance that they allowed outside food, so we brought in our own pizza! There are a variety of beer sizes available, depending on your preference. Sometimes you want to try a new beer and don't feel like committing to a large size. And maybe you're a curious person like me and want to try more than one? I appreciate that there were 220ml and 330ml options available. Will definitely be back. The flexibility of being able to bring your own food is a huge selling point. read more

Rude staff, some nasty groups of people hang out there. Good selection of beers that often change. Not much else to drink. Even though they now have a food truck serving hamburgers, I wouldn't recommend this place. If you like their beers, get them to go. read more

This place is a bit hidden away and I chanced upon it when looping through Thunderbird Crescent to get out onto Lougheed Hwy. there is a big signboard indicating its presence but it is not by the road. So drive further in to get to it. Parking is available in the lot or outside by the street. There are patio seating and upstairs seating in addition to the main area seating. Quite a big place. You can get merch by the entrance. T-shirts, caps, the works. I do not drink beer though I had read reviews they do wheat beer which I could tolerate the taste of. Unfortunately they were not available when we were there. Seasonal I think. My friend said most of the beers available that day were the stronger type, over 8% alcohol content. And no flights too. Luckily they do have a few non alcoholic options so I got the ginger beer by Callister Brewing. That was really good! Very gingery and not overly sweet. I realized every time I followed my friends to craft beer places, I usually ordered ginger beer or cocktails. I think I could probably start reviewing ginger beers at these places now. Food is also available here with even a combo of sandwich and the favorite "Burnabarian" beer. Nice place to shoot the breeze with friends. We are LOVIN' our Dageraad Brewing beers we picked up 2 weeks ago on a major beer haul. We mixed it up with some tall cans of Malawi and some special bottles of Antwerpen and Entropy Series #13. They are great for more traditional style Belgian styled beers, and sometimes that is just what you need. In a world of hoppy hoppy IPAs, sours and all that other craft beer, that we really do love as well, sometimes you need a good solid beer! Pulling up at the location from one direction, I thought this was a bit of a weird location but after realizing it's steps away from Production Skytrain station, I could imagine this place being a HIT! Right now during COVID-19, I am simply happy that they were open. The next day when outside I actually watched one of their vans pull up and do a delivery - awesome that they are doing that during this time! Love the designs of the bottle, love the beer, seems like an awesome brewery - bright and airy! Will check it out in person whenever the world turns back to normal. read more

This is one of the prides of Burnaby. Heck, they even have a beer named after Burnaby. We frequently come here via bike, walk, jog, or car. We love this place due to its diligence to the craft of beer. The people working here are chill folks and just make the protocol work. If you ask them nicely they'll give you samples still and you just have to take it back to your seat to drink. There's not a beer that is a miss here so feel free to try to your heart's content. They have since opened up an outdoor patio with 4 picnic tables and 2 couples tables. 3 tables on the main floor and a few tables upstairs. They have rotational food trucks stationed every weekend with some donuts for sale as well. Parking is available along the streets of the industrial park or right by the brewery if you are lucky. Overall: I think I secretly don't want to review because I want to keep this gem to Burnabarians, but I am sharing so that this gem can prosper beyond the confines of Burnaby boundaries. First time checking out Dageraad Brewing although I've drank several of their beers already. They're inspired by Belgian beers, specifically the city of Antwerpen. You'll find them in a random industrial area. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 12:45pm) and it was about half full. There was a good mix of merchandise (first time I've seen bike branded shirts). Bottles are fairly reasonable; you save 10% when you buy 12. We saw a couple buy two dozen bottles. There's 6 mainstay beers along with 9 seasonal/one off's/guest taps. Three pouring size options. We decided to try 6 samplers. - Jumo ($1.75) - fermented with Kiev yeast and hopped with mandarins bavaria and citrus hops. - The bright side ($1.75) - tart table saison brewed with lemon. Have had this before; light and slightly tart. Perfect for summer drinking. - Antwerpen ($2.25) - abbey-style tripel. - Brune ($1.75) - abbey-style dubbel with mission figs. - Birds of a feather ($1.75) - classic saison spiced with cubeb berries and local sage. Herbal, bright and juicy. This was also another one we quite enjoyed. The spice note was pleasant. - Velour toboggan ($2.00) - dark ale with a base of chocolate malt and raspberries. Smooth, fruit and mildly bitter. This was my favourite of the bunch. Decent brews at Dageraad but nothing I'd drive out of the way for. read more

Visiting from Toronto we ended up in the Burnaby area on yet another rainy day in Vancouver. Dageraad doesn't serve flights but they do offer and incredible selection of beers on tap. As you drive through their small lot you'll notice a cute outdoor patio and as you walk inside, a beautiful, wood accented taproom. The staff was very helpful and friendly with beer choices and helped me pick the nicely hopped white ale, Rainshine which was perfect for the weather. The citra hops with grapefruit peel is a fantastic combo and makes for a great summer beer or a pick me up on a rainy day. It's not too bitter and good to please most palates. read more

This brewery gets 5 stars for service, excellent beer, cleanliness and general radness. I've been going here for years! It's a 50 seat brewery in an industrial area in Burnaby. A 5 min. walk from Production Way SkyTrain station. Dageraad means " daybreak or dawn" in Flemish. This is a Belgian style brewery afterall. They also sell quality Biltong. For those who are new to Biltong, if you like jerky you may enjoy, it's a cured, dried meat. For that matter, it's quite a different taste than jerky. It's from S African countries, when I traveled there, I ate alot of it. More fun tidbits: this is the brewery that tagged the term Burnabarian. You may see those bumper stickers around now. Now to the beer, if you get a chance to try their Categorical Imperative. It's a Belgian IPA 6.5% ABV. IT'S SO GOOD. It's hoppy, effervescent, hints of grass, citrus, just a bit of juiciness. Another one to try is Rainshine. It's my current fave Belgian Hoppy Blonde Ale 6%ABV. Citra hops & grapefruit peel! They have a few flagship beers, ask the beertender. If you're not into hops or Belgian style, they might have a Pilsener. I've seen customers looking for "just a lager", this is not really the place for that. Go & be adventurous! Looks like this place has been doing well. They've now moved next door (same building) into a much larger space. The new tasting room is quite tastefully done, with the dark wooden trim. Compare that to their old place which only had some 6 seats. Their beer selection has also increased, to some 9 different brews. Definitely liking the change. read more

Came in with my husband for a beer flight. After trying their summer beer De Witte, I was hooked! I didn't think I appreciated beer untiI tried Degeraad. We tried 3 flights for under $7.00 The beer-ista did a great job explaining the differences among their beer variety and made some recommendations too. We enjoyed the Blonde IPA, and bought a bottle to take home as well. They also offer Growler fills as an option. The place inside was trendy, with a bar seating area and community tables as well. Tucked away in the industrial park near Burnaby Mountain, the tasting room is a delightful surprise. The interior decor is beautiful and very thoughtful - exposes concrete, wood paneling, super high ceilings and lots of daylight. The long communal table layout is very clean, great for casual gatherings. I'm not a beer aficionado but I do appreciate a good beer after a hike:) If you're a fan of dark lagers, check out Lekker. Hops are played out! That's why I like Dageraad! They've chosen to make the yeast the focal point of their beer flavours and it's refreshing in more ways then one! We sampled a few beers while at the brewery but having my friends 2 yr old running around limited how many. We still tried 3-4 which I was happy about because I had favorites and if I didn't sample them I wouldn't have known which ones I liked enough to buy. We wanted a growler which limited our selection to 5 different beers. We tried 3 and ended up with the Belgian White unfiltered. I liked the flavour better then the 4.5% Burnabarian and the full 5% alcohol was a bonus. We added a few 600ml bottles to try some variety and I'm glad we did. The Antwerpen and Blonde were both unique and tasty. I'd definitely get both again. Unfortunately I don't live here anymore so I guess it will have to wait! The location is in a business park that's mainly warehouse style so it can be kinda hard to find and park but that's a minor issue if you want some good beer! read more

Stellar. This spot is a prime example of great craft breweries in BC. Between the clean, well organized operation you can fully view, a knowledgeable amazing staff & delectable handcrafted Belgians, I'm in love. We brought some snacks, however they do carry tasty chips and jerky for noshing. Our neighboring customer brought his own huge sub sandwich to make everyone jealous. Decided to test the flight which consisted of Burnabarian, Burton Best, Amber & Blonde. All 4 were delicious & true to the Belgian style...fragrances of each were unique, malty to spicy to citrusy. I'm excited to come back for the Sri Lanka! Tamarind in beer? Yes please. Best part? Felt like friends just chatting it up with staff and patrons. One of my favourite local beer brewery! And I'm soo happy it is only minutes drive away from home. The location is a bit tucked away but they always have parking available and easy to find. My favorite beer from them is the De Witte but it is seasonal. Recently I stopped by to grab a few cans of The Bright Side. It was really nice and light and refreshing with the citrus taste and scent. They have an amazing assortment of beer and seasonal items that are continuously changing which makes it a really great as you always have something new to try each time you visit. This place is pretty amazing already but if they have cooked food available to purchase it would definitely top ot off! read more

Not many of the 25+ plus microbreweries in Greater Van seem to stray much from the usual styles, but to have at least one now that pays homage to the Mecca of beer, Belgium, not Portland, it's about time! And to do it so well! I started out not as a fan of the artful well-crafted Belgian beers, but after my tastes have been honed over the years (through much consumption) I really appreciate them, and now thanks to Dagaraad, maybe a little too much! Their beers won me over before I ever visited but their tasting room is definitely worth seeking out. I would not call myself a Belgian-style beer snob as some would, but through Dageraad, I have found myself appreciating this style more and more. The merch and glassware are cool and a little different than what you find at the other craft breweries since this is the only dedicated Belgian-style brewery around thus far. I have fallen in love with the Burnabarian with its subtle spiciness and the Sri Lanka Dubbel with stronger flavours and spices. There is quite a range of complexity and variety to their beers and after having a flight of tasters, I guarantee that you will leave with a growler fill. read more

The Dageraad Brewery specializes in brewing Belgian style beer (the name itself refers to Dageraadplaats, a neighbourhood square in Antwerp, Belgium). Nestled in the industrial area near the Production Way Skytrain station, it's a tasting room you definitely don't want to miss! The tasting room itself is really small, with six stools along the hightop bar in the entrance. There's also a large picnic table in the garage right next door, so there is plenty of room to enjoy some brews with friends. The pricing is really fair for tasters, glasses, and growler fills, and they also have plenty of bottles in their cooler to take home. The staff are also really nice and friendly, always willing to offer recommendations or have a conversation. I've tried most of their beers in their repertoire. I really like their Blonde ale and Amber ale, which seem to be the beers they always keep on tap. They are both fantastic Belgian beers that are real crowd pleasers. I've also tried their De Witte, Burnabarian, Wet-Hopped Blonde, and 8° and I have not been disappointed. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed either! I saw this reviewed on the front page of yelp on May 12th, therefore, book marked it for future reference. It almost feels like this is in the middle of nowhere, however, it is worth the trek. It is small. We went when they were celebrating their 1 year anniversary, therefore, they had pic nic tables with balloons. The guy I am dating had two beers. It's a different thick style, therefore, 2 was all he needed. Myself I had some jerky (see that review later) and some Mexican food from the food truck across the street (see that review later). The people running the place were super nice and the prices were fair. Great walking distance from the train station. read more

Dageraad makes great beer!! There is a reason why these guys are collecting awards... I love everything the have brewed so far and look forward to new releases because they are always creative. I would love to see greater availability in BC Liquor stores, I often suggest Dageraad to friends, family and even strangers, but explaining where to find it can be challenging. Tasting room is welcoming and, something important to me, it is clean :). Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Worth the trip to an industrial mall in Burnaby. This is real craft beer. read more

It's not that this is a BAD brewery. It's just not for me. Here's why: ALL of the beers are "sour"... all of them. I like hops. I like malt. I like bubbles. I love beer. If I wanted a flight of 4 sours... I'd ask for it. The staff are friendly. The atmosphere is great. I get that this is the "hip" new fad... it's just not for me. If you like sours and good atmosphere... this is the place for you! If not, order the rain shine and call it a day. read more

Bought a few bottles each of Entropy No. 5 - an IPA that was nicely hoppy but not killed by bitterness, their Amber Ale which is delicious, 8 degree which is one of my favourite Ales, and Brun - a nice brown ale. I learned about them with a bottle of Amber Ale at Fable and am definitely glad I found this Belgian brewery in industrial Burnaby. read more
