We started with the Kashk Bademjan, its incredibly good and I highly recommend ordering this. The server almost accidentally give our mains to another table but she caught it in time. I got the Khoresh Gheymeh (lamb stew I believe), it seems like they no longer offer it as I don't see it on their online menu. It was pretty good and I liked the strong lime flavours. By this point in our meal the server couldn't keep up with all the tables and we ended up having to pile of our dishes off to the side of our table. The dessert was the highlight of the evening, the cheesecake was average but the saffron cake was delicious! One of the best cakes I've ever had! By the end of our meal the owner came to help the server and it was great to see him helping on the floor! He was very kind and explained that one of there servers called in sick and they couldn't get another worker in on time. Overall I enjoyed the evening and it was great to experience a different kind of cuisine then I am used to. The only reason this review is a 4/5 is because of the service, while the sole server was good she was very slow and made a few mistakes.

Small town. Small minds…read more I heard a couple say that as I was walking down the street toward this restaurant. It's such an unfair statement, especially when applied to Saskatoon. This is a wonderful little town that punches above its weight. The meal I had here may have been the best I've had in 2023 (or at least tied with the one I had in Marfa, Texas). From the scallions to the pasta to the fish to the pudding like dessert paired with a sweet wine, each course complemented the next. The folks here were all so nice and I trusted them to surprise me with each aspect of the meal. I love it when I can hand that decision to experts. In such a short time, I've come to love Saskatoon. The people here have been great and with a meal like I had tonight, I'll put up this small town against much bigger ones anytime. No small minds here.

I'm so glad we picked Hearth among 4 places in the downtown area. We walked up around 15:00 without a reservation on Sunday. It was busy on the patio but we were able to score a table in the shade over looking South Saskatchewan River and the promenade. Since our table was at one end of the patio, it was a great spot to people watch too. Everyone from the hostess and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We placed our orders quickly even though there were quick a few good options on the brunch menu. I had a traditional breakfast and a Saskatoon berry lemonade and my husband ordered yogurt & granola and a long black. When he had told me he would be getting a long black, I had to do a double take in the menu and there it was. I could count with one hand how many places in western Canada I had been to with long black or café allongé on the menu. I was impressed and he said it was very good too. My breakfast was scrumptious with 2 thick pieces of sour dough toasts, 2 plump sausage patties, 2 perfectly fried (with brown edges) sunny side up eggs and crispy and soft potatoes! We each had a cocktail (they had a great list!) and most of us ordered the house made pasta. The side salad I ordered was delicious and a very generous portion. I really enjoyed the pasta, it tasted super fresh. Would definitely come back again!
