This is a must for anyone visiting Texas as it is one of the best venues for food and family entertainment. Locals love it and once you see it you understand why. The kids can play in an area within parents' eye sight while they enjoy themselves or are waiting to be eated. The food is excellent and service is fast and friendly. I have enjoyed their pork chop and at other times their shrimp and grits. There truly is something for everyone here. I can vouch for both. The pork chop is grilled to a juicy perfection. The shrimp and grits has enough heat to get your heart going and your mouth watering. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. This is one of the local gems that is well worth a visit. Been here several times. Over the last 6-8 months the service has drastically declined and the word quality should never be used in a sentence describing their food. My wife and I went tonight because I wanted fish and chips. BTW, we live less than a mile away so it is convenient and was on the way home from where we came from. Saying the fish & chips were awful is a compliment. It looked and tasted like chicken fried steak minus the gravy. It was maybe 1/4 inch thick with tons of dry crust and was as dry as their parking lot. Note, if you order fish and it is served with a steak knife, that is a red flag. The chips were chewy. You have to order at the door and 90 seconds in I am given a tablet asking for the tip for my service which has not happened yet. My wife and I ordered iced tea and set at the bar so we could watch the world cup. Since we were not drinking bar drinks, the bartender ignored us and never refilled our tea. The manager was sitting at the end of the bar with another guy that was wearing a Briteside t-shirt drinking a beer and dropping F-bombs. Keep in mind this is a place that caters to families with elementary and junior high kids and they are dropping F-bombs right and left. Manager did come over and ask how my food was. I said "awful". He asked why and I said what I said above. He said "well the cook cooked it too long". No offer of any kind to fix the situation. No apology. When we left he did apologize for the fish but I stated that I didn't feel he meant it since he pretty much dismissed my complaint by changing the subject to the fly fishing resort referenced on my shirt. Again, no attempt to fix this. I said I won't be back and he said 'okay'. So, I won't be back and I suggest, unless you want to drop off your kids at a whiffle ball court and water slide while you drink beer and don't care about the food or the service, don't go. read more

Gave it another shot... yet again our salads came after our meal, the service was extremely slow having to ask other servers for refills, and I got on the waitlist ahead of time but since we wanted to sit outside we were bumped back to the end of the waitlist (which we could see on the yelp app). Stopped by for lunch on a weekend after a long road trip. Tons of seating, though it seemed to be mostly (if not all) outdoors. Big play area in the open for kids, though hard to keep an eye on them from the table depending where you're seated, and fairly easy for them to escape to the parking lot if you're not looking. Service was decent, but the food was nothing special and WAY heavy-handed with the salt. Best if you're looking for a local alternative to a Cracker Barrel-type place (with worse biscuits). read more

My Son and I ate at Dahlia's on Thursday, July 9, 2026. I had the meatloaf & mashed potatoes with brown gravy. Delicious. Also had the fresh green beans. My Son had the Chicken fried Chicken, mashed potatoes with cream gravy. He loved it. He also had fried Okra, which he said, "was perfectly cooked." Dahlia's is bringing their A game! The onion rings are not frozen and very very well seasoned, with a slight crunch still in the onion. Served with a fresh jalpeno ranch. Its a home run!!! Hubby thinks his chicken fried chicken was bigger than the menu says. Very tender, light and tasty. The jalapeño gravy is mild and still accentuates. Their chicken fried steak is just the best. It was cold and wet weather when we were there, but the space has a great looking patio and outside area that I want to try in the future when it's nice out! The pies are insanely good, let's get that out of the way. If you want to include them for major eating holidays, that's a good idea. The food is a mix with some really great dishes and some not particularly special ones. If you choose correctly you'll be very happy, otherwise you'll still get a good meal. They have a small play ground and even at mid day it was enjoyable outside. Upon walking in you are tempted with a case of pies! (I didn't have one but heard they are good). We ordered the Philly cheesesteak and Buffalo chicken sandwich. They were both enjoyable and fresh! There was plenty of cheese and peppers on the cheesesteak but broke the bread down as you ate. One of my favorite restaurants to visit in Liberty Hill! It's a warm and inviting atmosphere-just some good 'ol southern comfort food. The portions sizes for the food they serve is great, pricing is reasonable especially with the cost of food these days, and each time I've gone the service has been good and the waitstaff very friendly. Our server was helpful and quick to put in our order - we never had to wonder where he was. The food was delicious! If you like hoagies, trying the Ragin Cajun Philly Cheese Steak is a must. Finally visited this restaurant! Its casual vibe and down-home menu make it a comfortable place to dine and chat. I met a new friend here and we stayed for a while after eating since they weren't busy. I ordered the queso burger by recommendation. Luckily, I ordered the queso on the side because it tasted like Velveta. Not my favorite. Great fries and delicious ranch dressing. My friend had the crunchy chicken salad and she loved it. The first time we commented on how good the meat was (not chewy) and this time it was quite chewy unfortunately. The kids meal chicken strips were wonderful. Stopped by Dahlias Cafe with a hankering for Chili Cheese Fries. Saw a review about how good they were so I figured I'd try I'm. Called in the order and they were ready in about 5-10 mins. Chili fries and queso cheese sauce. The taste was very good. Wife thought they were a little salty though (I think her sensitivity to salt has increased lately). Overall this was a great choice. Went along well with my burger and "Wild Berry" milkshake. If you've never had one of these you should. They are absolutely amazing. Majors is a home town favorite here in Liberty Hill. Worst experience, my family and I have ever witnessed in my life!! After getting recommendations about this location, we decided to try. One afternoon we went in because it was raining so we figure we can grab a quick bite to eat. Location was kinda empty after 30 minutes, more customers arrived. Felt very uncomfortable inside the location. I don't know if race played a factor, from the surrounding customers but my family and I decided to leave immediately paid the tab.
