Oh my goodness! Where do I start? Wish I could say something nice about the service, food or ambience. It's a fail on all three. Too bad - I'm sure the restaurant business is difficult but this place needs serious help. The gumbo looks like dirty dish water. The salad was basically chopped lettuce with one cherry tomato. Upscale, nice change of pace for the area. Prices are larger and menu choices reflect better ingredients. Cozy to intimate seating is limited but accommodates. Off the highway and set back in the older part of town. Beats a drive into Austin - a must try. Casual but suggest dressing up makes it more fun. read more

My guy and I have been here many many times. Never had anything we didn't like. The fried mushrooms, seafood platter, gumbo, and the last two times we got the crab legs! Oh my! Also the calamari and oysters! So good! Alligator as an appetizer on point! It saddens me that they are not busier. We have to support our local folks. It really is good! Foods good ! Service is good. I guess. Waiter was unnecessarily running around as if he was on drugs. And I literally mean that. I asked my wife for her glasses so I could see and this dude throws his sweaty glasses on my table and keeps walking. I'm like wtf. He was the only waiter working. And just running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Then the portions. Omg. Tiny tiny portions. Actually left and went to a burger joint and got a burger. I weigh 150. My boyfriend and I have been driving past this place for a few months now and finally decided to stop in for lunch today. First off... a HUGE shoutout to our server Craig! He was super attentive, kind, and willing to go above and beyond our entire time there. The food was amazing too, we both got lobster tail and my boyfriend got salmon with his, both great meals and enough for some leftovers! We stopped in on our way from Buchanan back to Austin. Our server Craig was friendly and welcoming. We ordered ribeyes--you know it's perfect when it doesn't need steak sauce--steamed veggies (at the perfect al dente level of doneness), fried okra (I could have eaten a whole plate of these), side salads, and finished it with warm pecan pie ale mode. Restaurant (and bathrooms!) were clean, colorful, and well maintained. We will be back! read more

I'd been excited about this place and I'm not going to completely throw in the towel, but we weren't impressed on our first time there. We will give it another shot. We got take out, the servers were nice that took the order and brought it out to us, so this review is based on food. We got a ribeye and asked for it medium well...it was rare. It was deep red on the inside and only seared on the outside. Surely this was just a mixup and we got the wrong steak? Because if that chef thinks THAT was medium...eek! We also got the Mexican shrimp cocktail. Gross, it was horrible in flavor. We had that at another location, but it was nothing like what we were used to...next time we will try American shrimp cocktail. The salads were super basic with just iceberg lettuce and what tasted like bought dressings. We got a baked potato and asked for all the fixings and they forgot to put in butter...nothing like chives, sour cream, and bacon, with no butter. That yucky adventure was over $50. As I said, I'm going to go back and try something else because I've heard some people say they like it, but we weren't impressed the Friday night that we were there. Don't waste a trip! Difficult to find, poor signage on the building. While the service was good the grilled seafood was not. My wife had salmon which was more like pan fried than grilled and tasted "outdated". My grilled shrimp were at best marginal and overcooked. I shared my shrimp with my wife, since her salmon was served without the shrimp (which she ordered). The server gave us credit for the missing shrimp after we were presented with the bill and offered to quickly make the shrimp but we were more than ready to leave. The side salad was paltry, lettuce which had been washed but not drained properly. We both had deep fried onion rings, greasy and slimy inside. Our other side was broccoli and it was ok, good portion. Our food was in need of "doctoring" - tartar for the salmon, normally not needed for good salmon. The red sauce for the shrimp was satisfactory. The comment from a previous review indicated this restaurant was "classy" obviously someone was being facetious! When keying in "seafood" for the Austin area, this restaurant comes up 5 stars, and #1 on Yelp. Cannot be justified, please review your rating system, Yelp!!!! read more

First time going to this restaurant. Decor is mid century shipping container meets Sponge Bob SquarePants. The staff was friendly and quirky and very helpful. The food was excellent, very eclectic. The shrimp and boudin balls were the bomb. The grilled tuna was very good as were the sides. The wine list... well, it's a wine list since all the vintages are sold at Walmart. First, the menu is quite extensive! Seafood platter, fried shrimp, fried oysters, catfish..even fried crawfish! Most of us had the fried seafood...shrimp, catfish, and oysters. All the items were cooked to perfection...no heavy breading! Hooray! As a born and bred Cajun, I'm very picky about my seafood, and this little restaurant has the best seafood outside of South Louisiana! A friend had their gumbo and was quite impressed. Another had grilled tilapia, and was very complimentary. Another friend, ordered fried calamari, and it was tender, and cooked perfectly. The cook and owner, came out to ask us how we enjoyed our food. We raved! Our waiter Chris was attentive, charming, and efficient. We stopped in here after another restaurant in burnet had too long of a wait. I am so glad we did. The service was excellent (Craig I believe). He got all of the kids food put in right away so it would come out quickly. He turned the Rangers game on for our son and his friend and was very kind and attentive. The food was all hand made and delicious. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The burgers were 1/2lb handmade patties. The mashed potatoes were homemade. Wow!! We had the crab boil and it was incredible! Cooked perfectly and the perfect amount of spice. Craig was great! Usually the potatoes and sausage in the boil are just fillers but the sausage was on par with the crab. The sun was shining on the table and they came over to close the blinds without us asking. My wife mentioned I liked spicy and they made me a special spicy garlic butter for me. If this place was in Austin it would cost $350 for two to leave but 2lbs snow crab boil and 4 drinks for $100 can't beat it! read more

Our usual burger restaurant was closing as we drove up with our grand daughters in route from our lakehouse back to their parents. I searched yelp for someplace in liberty hill along our route, but was surprised to see this restaurant in Bertram and the reviews looked good. We were the only customers in the restaurant and our waiter was so great! We started out with fried pickles which the grand daughters and their Pop really liked! The kids meals were good. Pops fried catfish was excellent and so were my jalapeño shrimp wrapped in bacon. Everything was tastey and came much quicker than we expected. We will stop back by soon! I will definitely visit again! The food rated high in all categories. I had the steak and shrimp while my son had the chicken fried steak and my father had the catfish and oysters. Everything was very good. We also enjoyed some fried mushrooms and enjoyed their extensive beer list.
