Pineapple Dole Whip

Another good place for ice cream. Dairy King is small and locally owned. It has a walk up window and a few tables. Good service that's fast and friendly. They always seem busy but they do a good job. Basically this is an ice cream stand with some tables to sit at. It doesn't look like anything special. They have frozen treats or hot food if you would rather have that. Most people come for the ice cream. They have several flavors of Dole Whip. It's about $2.75 for a medium cup. The flavors rotate daily and include lemon and pineapple. It always has a line in front. It's a sign of how good this is. The ice cream is worth the long wait.

the prices are unbeatable and its super close to my work (Virgo Fades) so that might be dangerous! my favorite is the mini banana split for $3 in a cup. its just enough that i dont feel terrible after trying to eat it lol!! they have spring hours up currently and a sign saying that food will be available soon! (nachos, pretzels / cheese, hotdogs)

Small town, locally owned ... Love it here! Sure, it is not fancy and you cannot have a seat but with these COVID times, that's fine with me! I apologize for only now posting a review when I have been getting my ice cream fix from here for more years than I can recall! Park wherever you find a spot and walk up to the next available red line painted on the ground to help maintain social distancing. The menu is on the inside wall, but there are window postings as well... Although most patrons know it by heart! Well priced, they offer a huge assortment of ice cream delights but also typical "Dairy Queen" items like, French fries and hot dogs. Operated by masked, friendly staff who keep the line moving. You order from the left window and pick up from the right. I seriously doubt you will ever have a bad experience here...they take their customers to heart. The Turtle Sundae with extra salted oceans is my once a month treat!

Clear signs and visible from street. Parking in back Clear Covid policies and markers to indicate the proper spacing. Clean Extremely friendly staff Dole whip? Okay, I'll bite. Interesting texture. Not quite sherbert and not soft serve - somewhere in between. The pineapple is refreshing for sure. Not too sugary like old school sherbert ... sorta like push-up pop vein of frozen treats. I will stop again! Next time I will try the highly recommended $2 mini banana splits!

While service was friendly and prices were reasonable the chocolate dipped cone lacked flavor.

While everyone is swooning over new Ben & Jerry's new downtown location, I haven't explored the OG…read moreEast Side location until very recently. I love to get Cherry Garcia from the grocery store and dig in while binge watching my favorite shows. So, I visited to taste Cherry Garcia flavor in a cone. ICE CREAM: My order included chocolate dipped cone with Marshmallow Sky scoop and Cherry Garcia scoop. As another customer in line gasped - "huge cone!" and also very sweet. Ice cream is tasty but scoops are super small. The ice cream came with a spoon which was very convenient to eat. The price was $2.29 for waffle dip cone and $6.69 for two small scoops. They didn't even fill in the top or the bottom of the cone. Worth it? Absolutely not! Too expensive! Other things you can find at this ice cream shop are sundaes, shakes, cookie dough, ice cream cakes, to go ice cream containers (including vegan flavors). There's funky merch like "I like to spoon" tees. Most customers took their orders to go or picked up on behalf of someone else. Few lingered on the patio. The patio has a lot of space and tables. SERVICE: The service is very pleasant, attentive, and quick. The girls working here go out of their way to help customers! Not crowded and no line which was a huge plus. LOCATION: In close proximity to John Carroll, this ice cream shop has a funky cow mural with CLE skyline and university. You can see the university right from the patio and walk from it to the ship. There's a large ice cream guitar (photo op). You'll find metal chairs/tables against the sky blue walls. It's a fun location to linger. Most visitors seemed to be the students and their parents. If you're looking to grab a dinner while in the area, there are a few places in the same plaza - pizza place and sandwich shop. No need to stress about the parking - the shopping plaza has plenty! This location is a bit hard to turn into due to round about, so be attentive! I'll stop at Ben & Jerry once in a while for a treat. I found it to be pricey/scoop size not comparable to other local ice cream shops. Nonetheless, it's a fun experience that I'd recommend to the local students and all!

AMAZING!!!!! First of all, this had to been the best avocado…read moretoast that I've ever eaten. I've had good avocado toast in Washington DC the state of New Jersey here in Cleveland in California and I have never tasted avocado toast so good. The bread was it was toasted, but it was still warm and soft. The avocado was perfectly blended, but the cheesy eggs were cooked to perfection and the bacon it was crispy and still had a good bite to it. It was so good. Now let's get into this Matcha. I got the lavender Matcha when I say it was sweet, but you could still taste the earthiness of the Matcha. I was just overwhelmed with how delicious everything that I tried at the bakery was. Last but at least the cookies I completely understand how the Sugar Cookie has the word famous in it when you bite into this delicious cookie, you taste the butter, the sweetness, and it has like a good crunch to it, but it's soft as well. This is incredible. But the start of the show was this buttery, delicious, soft, perfectly balanced, chocolate chip cookie. First of all, I don't even prefer chocolate chip cookies, but this cookie was baked to perfection. You can taste the premium chocolate that was used the butter you can taste the hint of salt. It is a perfect cookie.. So how did I end up in this wonderful bakery well I signed up For too good to go which lets customers purchase bags of food produce, etc. from local businesses so that we don't contribute to food waste so I signed up to get a surprise bakery bag. That's how I got the chocolate chip cookies and the sugar cookies but now I'm gonna be a repeat customer because the overall experience was top-tier great customer service. I watched this woman be kind to everyone that came into the door and she made me feel like I was a part of her own experience. This was great and I'm telling everyone about it and I've definitely going back.

Ellie-May's Gourmet Cookies is a snug bakery in the Coventry neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. I…read moreplanned to visit ever since they opened. I finally stopped in for a matcha and TooGoodToGo order. AMBIANCE: Simple open space with pops of color and inspirational quotes. Quotes like "Eat More Cookies" that seems like top tier motivation. Seating is limited to a few dainty tables and high tops for two people. Ordering is available at the counter. It's more of a to go destination due to space constraints. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu lists coffee, smoothies, lattes, chai, teas (hot and iced), and matcha. Cookies include options like classic, premium, frosted, jumbo, and cookie cakes. If you're feeling especially creative m, you can build your own cookie (custom cookie bar) or get take and bake dough. Similarly you can create your own smoothies if feeling especially creative. I ordered Blueberry Lavender Matcha ($6.75 for a large). The matcha tasted was very sweet. I note this as someone who loves sweet beverages. It was also a bit artificial tasting. The syrups are not in house made. To be honest the matcha was pricey considering the indigents used. I also picked up TooGoodToGo cookie surprise bag offered by the business. TGTG allows you to "rescue" food that the business would otherwise discard. The bag was only $3.99 for a lunch size to go bag filled with cookies (6 total). It was a mix of sugar and chocolate chip cookies. The cookies tasted pretty fresh and homemade. If you're into homemade cookies, definitely this place is for you. If you're more into bakery type elevated cookies then it will be a miss. I thought that the cookies were ok and satisfactory for sweet moment cravings. They definitely weren't something I'd rave about. SERVICE: The service was very friendly and relationship-oriented. The staff asked me about my usual drink preferences at Starbucks to match my tastes. We had a pleasant little conversation. I felt valued as a customer. PARKING: Covered parking garage is available on Coventry, same side of the street as the business. There is some street parking if you get especially lucky, and it's not a busy weekend or evening. NEIGHBORHOOD: Coventry neighborhood is an eclectic street with great restaurants, cafes, and shopping. You'll especially love this street if you're into vintage or fair trade shopping, and Asian cuisine. Browse the neighborhood while you visit Ellie-May. I was very appreciative about the lovely service at Ellie-May. If you miss the taste of homemade cookies, stop in and experience this cookie shop. I'm more into bakery type selections and cookies I wouldn't normally cook at home, so it's probably not a good long-term match for me.
