My family has been visiting Corbos since the '60s. It's an iconic Little Italy business. I always had a great feeling stepping inside as a little girl, and still have that feeling today -about 55 years later. I recommend all the bakery-most are very traditional Italian items. They are all perfect for every day, special occasions, and holidays. And do not forget about the non bakery food- homemade, fresh, delicious. A great selection as well. Corbo's is my new favorite spot in Little Italy for an Italian bakery. Their brownies are amazing. Their cookies, although made with shortening, are very good. I love their cannoli, but who doesn't love a good cannolo? Their donuts are always fresh and full of flavor. Their hours are excellent, so pastry is always accessible. What a treat! After dining down the street, we walked a few doors down to grab dessert to take home! We stood in line for a while, which was fine as we were able to gawk at the pastry cases and still didn't know what we wanted when it was our turn! The baked goods at Corbo's never disappoint! My husband and I stopped in after having dinner up the street. This visit, we had the cannoli and birthday cake. Both treats were delicious per usual. Last time we visited, I tried the pistachio ricotta cake which was heavenly! I love that the desserts here don't taste overly sweet! The service was prompt and efficient. We purchased a couple of the larger pastries and an assortment of cookies and biscotti, and all were delicious. I've been to Presti's a couple times but only just visited Corbos in Little Italy for the first time the other say. I appreciate that they are open late! It's a very home-y interior and pretty much nothing has a price on it. You just have to hope and pray that the baked goods you get are worth the surprise cost! I picked up four small cookies from their wide assortment of options. My total was about $3.50, with a discount given for paying in cash. They were delicious after dinner dessert cookies but I wish the price of the goods was clear. I am nervous to even begin to think how much of the larger desserts cost! We went to Corbo's because we'd previously had great experiences with their treats in Marc's where they carried their goodies. The service was fast and friendly, they answered our questions quickly. The environment was heavenly to smell. My only problem with the location was not the location itself but the food. While, I would gladly visit again maybe for select foods, everything we bought, tasted like anise, and the lemon cookies tasted nothing like lemon at all. read more

SOOOOO DISAPPOINTED... After 5 years away I finally was back in Cleveland and one of my first stops was to make a special trip to Corbo's for some Cassata Cake. DO NOT buy it...the recipe has been cheapened and changed: 1) NOT real whipped cream - seemed to be something more shelf stable like the "cream" in a Ho Ho or Little Debbie boxed cupcake. 2) "custard" is gritty and tastes like its from a can. 3) there is a gelatinous red goo surrounding the strawberries that resembles canned pie filling that also has an artificial flavor. I am so sorry - I hate being disappointed and having to give bad reviews, but for $8.00 a slice, I am insulted and don't think they deserve to skate on a history of being the best in all of Cleveland...clearly, that ship has sailed. read more

However, at $20/pound they have become a bit pricey for what was once an everyday staple. Everything I've tried here is quite good. On my way home I was going to grab a slice at Corbo's, but the pizza and pasta side was closed. I went to the bakery side to see if they had anything savory. I was happy and sad to find a pepperoni bread. It's a roll stuffed with large amounts of pepperoni and cheese. I put it in the oven for about 10 minutes and it was a warm, gooey, slightly crunchy hunk of deliciousness. I only wanted to eat half, but.... Why am I sad? If you run a pasta and pizza shop in the middle of nowhere, I keep expectations low. But if you are in a Little Italy, the standards should be much higher. The bakery was ok but the magic bar isn't the same at all and taste like it was previously frozen. Maybe even store bought. The lobster tail was FEOZEN SOLID. And had been for awhile bc the pastry tasted old. The antipasto salad, my favorite thing ever was horrible. The peppercinis tasted off possible that they've turned they tasted so peculiar. After dinner, we walked into the bakery which is connected to the pizza shop and our eyes were met with bakery deliciousness and our noses with that wonderful fresh baked goods aroma. I stopped to get donuts on the way to work. Planned to buy about 3 dozen. Walked in the door and wondered why no one would greet me or ask how they could help. Instead, a lady with dark short hair saw me, turned around and walked toward the kitchen. She threw her hands in the air and yelled to her coworkers "who opened the door?" We walked in around 9pm; the bakery wasn't very busy and still full of pastries. We were recommended to try the ricotta pistachio cake. And man, did it blow our minds! To be honest, it wasn't the most appealing cake in the glass case that night but I would go back in a heartbeat to get that cake again.
