The owners are very nice, always pleasant! You've gotta give them credit for hiring younger kids, most of which it is probably their first job. So if the service is crappy, I would blame it on that....but kids have got to learn somehow. We always get a flurry with chocolate chip cookie dough, and it is always amazing. The quality of the cookie dough beats others hands down. This is our favorite go to... maybe one day we will expand and try more. But I don't think you can go wrong here! read more

I tried a grilled chicken sandwich and a double cheese burger. The grilled chicken was good. The burger was just ok. I prefer Milkey's in Bridgman. The burger was very pink, greasy. Meh. Also, I ordered curbside, and it was left in the window and not brough to the car, as it says it will be in the order. I am not sure if they were just short-staffed that day or what happened there but I had reasons for wanting it to be brought out and tipped more for it. I gave it another try recently and got a crispy chicken sandwich, fries, ranch, and a side of cheese sauce. The sandwich was just ok. I added mayo but it had almost no mayo. Cheese sauce wasn't good, ranch is generic. They marked the order as completed quite a while before they brought it out to me. I almost called them to see if they were doing curbside. The fries were cold enough that it makes me think it was sitting a bit. Overall, nothing special. read more

Stopped by this little gem and was happy I did, even the burger wasnt the greatest the ice cream made up for it. The patty on the hamburger was one of those frozen bricks you buy in a 50 pack at the store. Well.... It tasted like it anyways. This place would be so much better if the burgers had more flavor. Just saying. I opted in for a shake, it was great, the location was on a main road and seating was pretty awesome to just relax and get that small town feel as you sat and ate. Dairy Korner is an absolute staple in St Joe. It is one of our only seasonal businesses so supporting them during the warm months is absolutely vital! We all know the custard, soft serve, and dairy free options are amazing- but they have delicious food too! Fish tacos, veggie burgers, grilled cheese (I add tomato!) and cheese fries- grab some and bring down to the beach. I have grown up loving Dairy Korner even more than Dairy Queen. I lived for opening day and cried when they closed for the season. Their ice cream treats always hit the spot, the food items like hot dogs and burgers have always been quality and now that I have a dog I get her a pup ice cream treat. If you ask for pup cup of ice cream they give you a small serving of ice cream with dog treat in it. I would definitely recommend coming here for a treat during the summer. read more

The milkshakes are fantastic, lots of great flavors to choose from. The employees hustle, and they get through a crush of summertime family's very quickly. Really enjoy their Dole, as they had a pineapple and raspberry/pomegranate which tasted great as a twisted cone. They're always busy, but enough staff to keep it moving. Prices seem fair, and the selection is wide. They have lunch items too, and we'd like to try the fish tacos. A great place for ice cream and more! We ordered Korner fries, cheese curds, and chicken tenders to start. They were all very hot and fresh. The sriracha mayo on the fries was amazing. I love places that spell wrong on purpose. It's funny, it's cute. Extra points if there is a giant food item on the roof (see Superdawg, Chicago). From the outside, DK looks like an old timey ice cream stand, but on closer inspection, there are tons of items available, not just ice cream either. There's burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, onion rings...good stuff if you want a meal along with your ice cream. I was really interested in the "flavor burst" soft serve, which looks like regular vanilla soft serve, but has a flavor ribbon running through it--raspberry seemed to be the popular choice. But there was Orange Creamsicle on the menu--and I'm a sucker for that, so I opted for the shake version. It was creamy and refreshing--perfect dessert after pizza at Silver Beach Pizza. My son wanted anything watermelon so we got the Watermelon slushie. The small is a nice sized portion for a kid. But wow, if you are not a regular here, it might take a while to decide because the ice cream menu is huge. Service was friendly. The ordering area is pretty tight quarters, we couldn't figure out at first if the line was inside, or if we ordered at the window. Anyway, there's some outdoor seating as well. I just got back from Dairy Korner where I ordered a medium soft serve cone. I ordered a medium soft serve last weekend and I was surprised by how small it was, and I queried the girls that were working that night if that was normal. They hesitated but said that it was normal. I took a picture because it was so ridiculously small. So I showed the picture to the adult gentleman that was running the show today and asked him if that was normal and he said that sure enough I was shorted. And that was it. He handed me my medium soft serve without an apology or offer of discount after admitting that his store shorted me last week. Wow! That's some awesome customer service, right? And this for a customer who has been patronizing this ice cream stand for the last 35 years. read more

After a long day at the beach, we were walking back to our bed and breakfast and happened upon Dairy Korner. There was a bit of a line - always a good sign on a hot Sunday afternoon - but the team had a good attitude so the wait wasn't bad. My banana milk shake had real bananas in it - little chunks of deliciousness - and it was packed with flavor. My companion's ice cream was tasty as well. It would be five stars, but it was pretty expensive for a small milk shake and a dish of ice cream. Probably to be expected given the location. The manager was definitely a stickler for cleaning - he kept barking orders at the employees every time they took a breather. :) read more

Last summer the young people that worked there messed up our order, but I blamed it to COVID!! But yesterday they did it again, and who or what should I blame for it this time?? My float didn't have enough ice cream and they packed our order to go and didn't even know if that was our order!! And why ask for a person's name for your order if they called the order by the food name?? We have liked your business a lot in the past, but if something goes wrong next time, we won't go back!! Dairy Korner is open again for the 2017 season (earlier than expected)! They have great food items such as the vanilla sweet potato friends, veggie burger, and mango frozen yogurt! They are also open for breakfast now with a menu of breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Hours are 730A-8P. I will definitely be coming here more often as the weather warms up.
