Food was great today. Must be under new management service was pretty quick and people friendly!

I live far out of town and stopped here for a quick bite to eat on a road trip. We ignored the dingy looking exterior because we were hungry. We ordered a burger with only bun, cheese, and patty. Waited in the drive thru line for roughly 30 minutes for a drink, fries, burger, and medium blizzard. After all that time, the blizzard was half unblended and the burger had all veggies, yet no cheese on it. I immediately left an online complaint through the survey on the receipt. I just planned to call for a refund as soon as I wrapped up my weekend night shifts, if they didn't reach out to me first. However, when I called less than 72 hours after the initial transaction and spoke to their manager, he rudely said he "cannot and will not refund" the money as I haven't brought the food back to the store and didn't call within 48 hours. I apologized and tried to explain that I didn't know about a time limit, I live far away, and the 48 hour limit had just been passed. I understood that I had messed up by not knowing the company time limit and stuff, so I hung up after he was very rude the entire talk. I then remembered I made the online complaint the day of and hoped maybe he would be kinder if he knew I tried before. I called again, but he was even ruder the second time. The interaction was horrible, and I still won't be getting my refund from them. TL;DR The fries we could eat were mediocre, tasted slightly greasy unless doused in ketchup, blizzard was half blended, every topping we didn't want want on burger was there, yet no cheese in sight... very rude manager/customer service. Do you guys still have a rat infestation? Last year when I saw a rat run from out of the counter and run back in; I requested and received a refund. While waiting for the refund I looked around and saw rodent feces all around the register. No employees were surprised and the manager said "sorry, we're trying". I did not order a drink, the "burger" was soaking wet when I got it. Sad! No pride in this store. Remember how dangerous Subway hot tuna subs were? Stopped by after work to order dinner for us. Took a long time through the drive-in and there were only 2 of us inline. Ordered 4 chicken strip basket and a 6 strip. Chicken strips were very burnt and dry as if they were either reheats or they forgot them in the fryer. Went back to the DQ to let them know about this, and all I received after this was a bunch of runarounds and no effort to salvage a messed-up order. I've been in foodservice and retail, and I think the problem should have been addressed much better than what I ran across. The dude was very unhelpful and abrupt. read more

I don't think I will be back , the last three times I have went something is wrong with my order, today they forgot to put tarter sauce in with the fish but put lots of ketchup. I won't eat the fish without tarter sauce so now it is dog food. I know it is kids mostly working but I can't keep wasting money, I called to let them know and did get an apology but only with a you are welcome to come back and get your tarter sauce, I am 15 miles away, I will pass. Picked up my grilled chicken salad to go only to find the dressing in little plastic tubs sitting on my salad along with the fork and wrapped crackers! Surely that violates good hygiene rules! Please put the condiments, crackers, and utensils in a separate bag and NOT on top of my food! That's just lazy, poor food handling procedures, and disregard of public health just to save a bag. Ordered a banana split blizzard, and they gave me a cup of ice cream. Went inside to complain and they put in a small scoop of pineapple, mixed it and handed it back. Now, they did warn me they were out of strawberries, but what about the chocolate ? Or more than literally three pineapple bits? Or the bananas? So apparently this is the place to be in Bandera. I didn't see any other fast food places with a drive through in town so maybe that is why. We came here to pick up something to eating before driving home after camping at Garner. The wait was probably twenty minutes and I prefer to think it is because they are making the food fresh rather than being slow. The food was fine. I ordered the nachos and while they put plenty of toppings on it, it was a good thing they gave me a spork because the chips are way too thin so they immediately became soggy. We ate while parked in the lot so it isn't like lots of time passed between when we were given the food and then consumed it. The staff wasn't particularly friendly but it is DQ so the standards probably shouldn't be too high. read more

We eat here frequently and the food is so great, hot and fresh. The ice team treats are amazing, I always order hot fudge instead of chocolate because of an allergy and I am never disappointed. They go through periods of really low staff so we wait extra time in the drive thru but always hot and fresh. When they are appropriately staffed we get to eat in the dining area. It is decorated quite nicely and just a great place to sit and chill. I know there have been some bad reviews but we love coming here. I guess as we age, time is not an issue anymore. I definitely do not go at peak times because of the rushes but off times are great! Give the workers a kind word and encouragement because they are doing their best! read more

How do you go to DQ and order a blizzard and ice cream with ur meal and they give you medium cups and when ur food comes there's no ice cream or BLIZZARD like there are known for as well as there customer service is known existence. It's slow food not fast food. As well as they can't even answer there phones and let it ring for 5 minutes. The atmosphere is lit with the gossip and people inside but no staff though. I've been making almost a ritual or pattern that every Sunday I stop by and order the #1 and Texas size that dish. Be warned, this place is working on skeleton crew and is slow. But what really saves it is the "Drive Thru Girl" she is the one with the braided ponytail. She is very nice and polite and she makes the 10 - 20min wait worth it...knowing that she is there working and keeping this place running during these hard times. I have never waited an extremely long time. But I guess I've been lucky after reading some of these reviews. I went in a few times to get my usual soft serve ice cream cone and so far I have not been disappointed yet. I will cross my fingers. Plus the location on Bandera road is a lot cleaner than the Fredericksburg location. Which isn't horrible but from what I have seen less clean than this one on Bandera. I do agree with the higher prices it seems like they are a lot more expensive than other places to get a soft serve ice cream. For instance QT had the same thing for 50 cents. Although not as creamy it's bigger and cheaper. The pumpkin blizzard is another favorite that although it is quite expensive as well, but considering they are one of the only places I know to but that particular flavor of ice cream. read more

Possibly the worst hamburger I have ever eaten. It had to have been cooked at least 3 times over a 6 hour period. It was 2 hockey pucks . The fries were room temperature and very old as well. so i never write bad reviews. but i come in this establishment quite often, constantly getting a small blizzard with my boyfriend, and we are hearing all the sudden from other workers not even the manager himself that we are "grabbing each others asses" ?? i don't think that's very professional first of all, and second of all after we got told that , we looked at each other shocked because we couldn't think of one time we touched each other inappropriately or any kinds of PDA that needed to be confronted about. the experience was just extremely awkward and uncomfortable and gives off the impression that we are being monitored, which is obviously NOT ok. let me eat my food with my boyfriend in peace. we can assure you that there's no game of "grab ass" going on, pipe down. thanks. read more

Went to DQ yesterday 4/17/21. Ordered a hunger buster with pepper jack cheese. Bacon, hold the Mustard and Pickles with Mayo, onion rings and a chocolate shake. Got my son a Hunger Buster with Mayo no onions fries and a chocolate shake. They have signs explaining they are short handed due to Covid and the wait might be longer. The wait was not bad at all. The food came out hot. Buns were really fresh. Burgers made perfect and the whole meal was excellent. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Had a minor glitch getting the onion rings but came back around and the employees that took care of it were awesome! I am a disabled vet and they were great. Highly recommend. Took my grandsons there this evening. Orders 3 chicken strips basket with drink to go. The order was sent to the kitchen at 7:03 pm. 15 min went by with no food, 20 min, 30 min, 40 minutes still no food. At 7:58 they brought the order to my table. Told them it was to go so they took it back boxed it and brought it back at 8:00 pm. 57 minutes to fill a order is simply not acceptable. No apology from manager or anything. Needless to say I will never buy food at this place again. Will tell everyone I know about the very poor serve and recommend they too stay away from this DQ It's obvious the owner doesn't read reviews, or just doesn't care. 2 weeks after giving this review haven't been contacted to apologize or any other comment. This DQ in Bandera has taken a nose dive in the past couple of years. The food there used to be ok, for Bandera. The DQ in nearby Boerne has always been much better. Recently, the food has gotten worse than it already was. Most discouraging of all is the fact that the portions have recently gotten smaller. Burgers are smaller, drinks and shakes are smaller, etc... To add the kiss of death to this DQ, these smaller items have increased in price. To sum it up, this DQ has burgers that are smaller than they used to be, not very tasty and cost more than they used to. If you want a good hamburger in Bandera, try Busbee's BBQ. read more

Love Dairy Queen, but this location is TERRIBLE. Takes forever to get your food, and on top of that the workers are extremely rude. The interaction I had with the young girl working the register was extremely disheartening and put a damper on my day. They either need to hire different people, or train them to not talk shit about customers while they're standing right there. Can't believe management allows this. Check out other burger places here such as Burger King, or support local businesses such as old forge, rather than spend your money at this crappy location where they'll treat you like dirt. I literally sh*t myself Waiting in the drive thru line. I only got a dip cone, a cup of ice cream and a large root beer and they didn't have it even close to ready when I got to the window, pants full of crap. And of course there's no way out once you get Into the line so there was no possible way to move and quickly go to the bathroom. The young woman ( I'm probably younger than her) at the window was rude. Of course maybe she was just having a bad day? It took me about 40 min to receive what id ordered.
