    Enjoying coffee and cake

Came here for coffee and cake. Excellent selection and tasty cakes. Coffee was well brewed, smooth and palatable. The attendant at the counter was a friendly guy. Answered all questions and service was prompt. Reasonable prices, comfortable place. Having visited Boerne a number of times, why didn't I noticed this spot before. So glad we discovered it.

This place has been on Main St for quite a few years now. It's evolved several times over the years, but is consistently solid and good. On a recommendation from my buddy, JPB, I went in to try their breakfast tacos - specifically their bean and cheese with bacon. In the hotly contested battle for Boerne Breakfast Taco supremacy, these are solid contenders! The migas and cheese was hot, well-flavored, and tasty with the red salsa they provide. The bean & cheese with bacon hit the spot with tasty beans and plentiful crispy (but not overdone) bacon. Try the green salsa with it! I also had a Chai, which is a nice variation from my usual coffee drinks. The Chai was hot and had a nice enjoyable flavor - perfect just the way it's served! The staff is friendly and the ambiance is quaint, with old wooden floors and a pressed tin ceiling. You can feel Boerne's history seeping out of the walls here. Parking can be a bear here, so be prepared for that and watch out for the Main St traffic if you parallel park.

The kolache was good. The coffees are perfectly hot for a cool day. The caramel macchiato and white chocolate mocha was great. The ambience is friendly comfortable. You can sit inside outside. We had our pups so it was nice to sit outside. The girls in the front were very, very nice and provided great service. The patrons are really amazing.

It was our first time here. Just passing through on our way home. Place was really nice, cozy and clean. BUT, it was cold on this day. So it was super cold every time someone opened the doors to go inside. Service was great. You order at the register and listen for your name to be called so that you can go get your order. Food was really good. I ordered the French toast plate and it was really good. I ordered potatoes at an extra cost. The hubby ordered some tacos. He only liked one of them. The carne guisada taco looked really dry. Hubby didn't eat it after taking the first bite. They also sell pastries. The braided chocolate croissant was delicious! Prices are reasonable. We paid about $33 with tip.

Food was delicious! Everything tasted homemade. We sampled many different items, it all just looked and then tasted great! If we lived close, this would be our weekend breakfast spot! As you can see I loved the vintage feel of their building and decor.

Food was nothing special, but what was worse was the staff. Not friendly and all seemed irritated serving us. Will not be going back.

Reviews say that the line is long and sometimes they run out. I am not sure if everyone was watching the parade I got lucky. There was not even a wait time. Everyone was so friendly! I took my order enjoyed looking at it and comparing it to the size of my head lol. Then I went asking how can I heat it up. I wanted it for Father's Day my dad loves cinnamon rolls. Turned out the one given to me is heated and the frosting makes it not good to be reheated. They did not hesitate to grab another one and give it to me. I offered to pay for it.... Nope! You take it and enjoy! I didn't touch the other one and I tried to give it back. Nope! Both are yours! There was a customer an older man I gave it to him. They didn't even show any sign of annoyance from this whole event. I got nothing but smiles and welcomes! I heated it yesterday as suggested. The chef is very smart the way she rolls it. You would imagine a doughy taste in the middle from how huge it is. All I can say it is perfection! Each layer of it tasted better than the other! If you are a cinnamon lover you can even use it as a birthday cake this is how big it is for only $10

I guess the only surprise I had was being asked if I wanted to heat the roll to eat it now. I figured they would all be fresh at open, but who knows. They aren't cheap, but they are massive and worth the $$. If I hadn't been traveling, I'd have taken some of that gorgeous looking sourdough loaf off their hands as well.

Beware The "Pastrami Reuben"…read more I saw that hundreds of people on Yelp had reviewed Cibolo Creek Brewing and overall ratings were over 4 stars. I should have done a bit more reading and looking at the pictures. We stopped in on a mid-afternoon Sunday in early June. First impression upon entering through the front door was confusion. It was not really clear what the process was to order and get a seat. We approached the bar area and then noticed the "order here and seat yourself" signs. Several people came in behind us and so we felt a bit rushed to order. There were several craft beers on tap, but I was told I could not get a flight at the moment. I was able to get a taster, but with all the people behind me waiting to order, I didn't feel I had time to find out more about the beers before committing to a 16oz pour or lose my place in line. Shame on me for not doing my homework. We tried "The BEST Burger" and the "Pastrami Reuben", both with fries and two beers for close to $60 plus tip. The burger wasn't the best. It was sort of "meh". The homemade fries were good. The so-called Reuben was closer to a brisket sandwich than an actual Reuben. The meat was very mesquite-wood-smokey and then appeared to have been fried on a grill (definitely not steamed). It was very chewy despite being thinly sliced and had NONE of the flavor good pastrami has. The menu claims the meat is tri-tip, but tri-tip is known to be a tender cut. The meat on that sandwich was NOT tender. Cibolo Creek Brewery is in a great location (which sort of explains the prices) right next to the Cibolo Creek Trail and River Road Park and they do have a nice covered outdoor seating area with large family-style picnic tables. I may return to sample a few more of their beers and see if there is something I like better on the menu.

I would not have been able to find it off the main street. It's nothing fancy in appearance, but it was clean and the staff was nice. We did in line to order. It has that old time, family appeal kind of restaurant. I don't know how else to explain this other than it's food that your southern grandma would make for you. It had all the flavor and all the heart cooked right into it. It's self serve drinks and silverware, etc. I love that they have different size portions of meals. There are so many things to choose from. I normally take a million photos. I apologize because I was so into my visit that I didn't get any except photos of my family. I can tell you we started with fried mushrooms and they were incredible. They were hot and battered perfectly. Add Ranch and I was in heaven. They served it with gravy also-which is a must. Do you ever look back at your visit and wish you had eaten more of something? That's me with the mushrooms, but I was trying to be lady like so I only ate a few. I got chopped beef sirloin that was smothered in onions and brown gravy & fried okra and they serve it with this muffin like roll. It was all so good. The quality of the meat was great and that deep brown gravy compliments the entire dish....grilled onions....oh man...take me back! Let me just tell you my little southern heart was in heaven. Their onion rings are amazing also. The chicken fried steak was great. I mean....i had to take bites of my son's plate also. I don't see how you could go wrong here. I love that you go grab your food and go sit yourself down. This place stayed hopping but they were on their game and had the food out so tables were turning quickly. I didn't see anybody ever waiting to sit. This is just an all in all great place to eat. I wish it wasn't so far away from me, but I will definitely make an effort to be back.

The menu is on the wall and ordering at the counter. There are yummy looking pies in the case. We were happy to see liver and onions with 3 sides. It also came with an incredibly tasty muffin, which we were told was a type of bran muffin. The liver was very thinly sliced and nicely grilled. Sides were generous. We got drinks and my unsweet tea was nicely brewed, which in Texas is expected. Counter staff was friendly and service was quick. The environs are in serious need of an upgrade, which I doubt will happen to keep the prices low. As it is our shared meal and two drinks was about $25. We were very pleased with our meal, the restrooms were clean and easy access, and overall other than extremely dated decor this eatery is a Boerne classic!
