King's Place - America's Best Burger and a Dirty Dr Pepper

I'm in town for a few weeks. I asked the woman at the front desk of the hotel "Whats the best…read moreburger in the area?" Without hesitation she said "King's Place" She was right. I went there for lunch and sat at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. There are over 100 choices of burger combinations on the menu. The burger was delicious. I told my boss about it and now we're going there for dinner tonight. Twice in 1 day? Yup! And I'll be back before I head back home.

The Burger Monarchy: A Paradox of Plenty in Miesville In the…read morequiet, pastoral stretches outside Eagan, there exists a roadside institution that defies the modern trend of curated minimalism. King's Place in Miesville is a relic of a different era, a burger joint that functions less like a restaurant and more like a high-volume assembly line of Americana. The menu is not merely large; it is an overwhelming, multi-page manifesto of beef. With roughly 80 to 100 variations on the burger--many named in tribute to the local Miesville Mudhens baseball team--the experience begins with a bout of genuine decision paralysis. For the average diner, the sheer volume of choices feels like a dare. It is a place where you can find almost any topping imaginable, which makes the absence of a simple fried mushroom all the more jarring. It is the one note the kitchen fails to hit in an otherwise exhaustive symphony. When the food does arrive, the logistics are the primary entertainment. The floor staff at King's Place perform a nightly feat of athletic grace, weaving through the crowded, character-filled dining room while balancing five or more burger trays at a time. It is a spectacle of efficiency that puts the sterile, automated nature of modern chains to shame. However, one must navigate the side dishes with a discerning eye. While the temptation to "upgrade" is always present, the seasoned waffle fries are an investment that yields little return; they are best skipped in favor of the standard fare. The real value here lies in the core product and the refreshing lack of pretension. Despite the fame and the daunting menu, the pricing remains stubbornly reasonable, a rare feat for an establishment that has transitioned from a local secret to a regional landmark. "Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things like a double cheeseburger." -- Channing Tatum For those seeking the predictable polish of a franchise, King's Place will be a confusing sensory overload. But for the traveler who values soul, speed, and a price point that respects the wallet, this is a kingdom worth visiting--just don't expect to find a fried mushroom on your plate. So I was quite excited to try this place here in my very small town. As a Yelp Elite squad member…read moreI base almost all of my decisions when trying new places on reviews. Especially during travel. I ordered takeout. Not sure if it was just a bad day or what, but when you are a bit spendy you should take extra care in maintaining good quality food in takeout as much as dining in. I ordered the New Glarus beer battered onion rings, They were soggy, if they had packaged these in brown paper bags this problem would have been greatly diminished as a former restaurant manager. For 9$ I had to come home and put them in the oven to make them crispy again. Also, being a Chicagoan I am a pizza freak. When claiming to be a brickfire pizza place, your crust should be crispy on the bottom yet still chewy. NOPE! It was boxed and sitting in a PILE of grease making my 14$ small pizza very soggy. Very disappointed and probably won't return. I'd rather drive far for good pizza for what I paid for at this establishment. ** update**. Tried to give this place another chance and what a waste of every penny. We figured instead of the pizza this time (being that it was the ONLY place open). We'd try the sandwiches. I'm a Chicagoan and so I went for the "Italian Roast Beef". Big mistake, it was dryer than a desert road and all Italian roast beef sandwiches originating from Chicago should be served "wet" or at least a little "wet". My son ordered the philly and it was just as bad after we had to sit and watch the server stand there and stare into space only to leave to come back with something to write with and STILL didn't give my son the sandwich we ordered so he had to wait. She said she would take it off the bill and she took off 4$..... NEVER again. Don't do it.

Excellent food great service and a short detour...from anywhere! Try the mushroom swiss!…read moreAlso your favorite beverage...bottle, tap, or mixed drinks available. Cheers!
