GM and assistant manager was very helpful, however, the Director of Operations, Judy Werner, is downright awful. Did not take my concerns into consideration at all after a minor employee harassed us. Even harassed my young son. Told us it was "our perspective ". This is a poor example of management and the employees are faces of this establishment and if at the mere age of 16, you are enabled to speak to anyone the way we were spoken to, is just sad. I stopped by for lunch today without high expectations after reading the Yelp reviews. I was pleasantly surprised! The lady at the drive thru was so nice and I received my order promptly. I ordered the chicken finger meal and asked for gravy, Buffalo sauce, and ranch. My daughter was given a $15 gift card for DQ for her birthday a few weeks ago. After soccer camp on Thurs 6/27/19, she wanted to treat her brother and sister to DQ. So we went to the DQ in Atoka, TN at lunch time. A trainee was at the counter. She had a few issues but took our order. Yet she couldn't get the computer to accept the gift card. She went to get the manager, and we waited about 5-7 minutes while the line behind us got longer and longer. Only 1 line was open. When the manager Shauwna came over, she couldn't figure out how to get the system to accept the gift card either. I told her no problem, give us the food and the proper change and she could take the gift card. She refused. She said we had to pay for the order with cash. I tried again, but she still refused to figure out the issue / accept the gift card. I told her that we would not come back to that DQ for at least a year, knowing that by then Shauwna should be long gone, and we left without our order. On the way out, I told everyone in line not to buy a Dairy Queen gift card as they refuse to accept them. On the way home, I remembered that gift cards have a number on the back to call to check the balance. So I did what the manager should have done and called the number on the back of the gift card. After entering the 16 digit number on the card, the automated system informed me that the gift card balance was $15.00, just like I had told the manager. The following day, when soccer camp was over, I took my children to the DQ in Millington, TN. The trainee at the counter (Michael) was friendly but needed a lot of help from another regular employee named Riley. Riley was great, very helpful and very knowledgeable. Riley is not a manager, I specifically asked him that. He looks like he's about 17 years old. Michael took our order, and had the same difficulty getting the computer to accept my daughter's gift card. Riley stepped up, showed him what buttons to press, and it went through without a hitch! Yes, after all that I gave my daughter $15 cash, I didn't have her pay for anyone's lunch. :) read more

Here is my honest review, I worked at this particular location for over a year. I was promoted to a Fan Captain after about 4 months of working there. The fan captains have more responsibility and are basically a Supervisor. These people are in control of everything that happens on the "floor" at all times. After being a fan captain for another few months I was then promoted to an assistant manager. I was promised less responsibilities than all the other managers because I was also a college student. Well that was a lie. It's not that I wasn't given the option, I just needed more money for the work I was putting into the job. Making $.50 more than minimum wage at this point as a manager. I never complained about the pay, because I get it. But there were fan captains making more money than me an hour. Which in my personal opinion isn't respectful to me. The only problem that I had with the place and the only thing that could be made better is by getting rid of their general manager Veronica! This review could go on for forever if I explained each and every reason why this is true. But if you ask ANYONE who has ever worked at the Atoka location while she worked there, they will tell you she is the problem. Thank you for reading the review. I know it's a lot and I mean no disrespect to her personally. It's just the way it is. The employees are wonderful and made the job worth it. But if I'm being honest, I would never recommend anyone working at this location. Now for the only positive thing about this location is the part-owner Mrs. Judy and her family. These people make this place so positive and I understand that she can't work 24/7 and make this place better, but it would drastically make this place better if Veronica was not included at this location.
