Really disappointed in DQ today! Went through the drive thru for a chocolate shake, and while it was good, I was told that the DQ "pup cup" wasn't available.. When I asked why, I was told that they create the pup cup from "overruns" from the ice cream machine and there weren't any overruns today yet, so sorry What???!!!! Every previous visit when I've gotten one, I've witnessed them squirting a small bloop of ice cream directly from the machine into the tiny pup cup --not scooping it from an overrun container!!!!! Thinking I misunderstood, I asked the person at the window if they just didn't have any tiny cups to serve the pup cups and she said no, they don't have any overruns of ice cream I wasn't going to argue with her, bcuz she was just repeating to me what she had been told to say, I heard the voice inside the restaurant while she and I were at the window, so it was the manager or someone else saying that ridiculousness, not her.. so I left But I'm really unhappy with being lied to (or gaslighted if you wanna call it that) If you don't want to give me the free pup cup because I only bought a $4 shake instead of a more expensive meal, say so! I don't eat at Dairy Queen often enough to say this location is better or worse than the other locations (no more than once a year). I was happy with the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the employees were nice and working hard. One minor annoyance is that their bathrooms are locked (the code on your receipt). Note to self: The small size blizzard looks small but is very filling. It was a sunny day so we decided to grab a couple of ice cream cones to enjoy the lovely day. Then the entire mood went into the dumps when we witnessed the server weighing our ice cream cones after dispensing to make sure we didn't get too much based on the manager's request. Well guess what... it weighed 2.3 oz = too much. So the manager stepped in & scrapped both cones of ice cream off into a cup & re-dispense the "right amount = 2oz" before giving us our cones. Can you believe this?! Really?! You can't spare the extra "0.3oz" of ice cream to your customers?! Even if the server needed training on how much to dispense don't do this in front of me. I know it's fast food but come on. So I went drive thru and order some chicken strips for the kids and a deluxe burger I said no tomatoes for myself as a quick snack before dinner in the evening. First off they took about 10 minutes the cashier was friendly. As I opened my burger I see the mayo all over the bun it must of had like double the amount they normally have the beef patties was cold it was not even at an ok temperature the lettuce looked so gross and old and their must of been like 10 pickles. I have had this experience in the past but today I had it. I will not be going back to this location. I called the manager and his excuse was we had a very big order before yours and the cook was probably irritated and was behind. I always stop by this Dairy Queen when riding on a bolt bus (stop is right next to it). We had a 5 min. break and I took my chances on getting a quick meal, the cashier and staff understood and expressed my simple order and had it ready in 30 seconds. Nice! Really that one star is being generous. Went through the drive through ordered a combo and and order of cheese curds. Order was fine but the curds were still frozen! When I went into the store to ask for cooked curds one of the associates stated she has had that "problem" in the past then directed the cook to make sure they went through the whole time... how often does this happen??? The manager was semi present and offered to take the frozen curd from me to throw it away BECAUSE THERE WERE NO TRASH CANS NEAR THE COUNTER OR DRINK DISPENSER. As I'm waiting, the manager flits about looking busy, and didn't even offer to take the curds off the bill or some compensation for my having to stop my trip to get what I ordered. Wow from the time I pulled up to the speaker we felt like we were interrupting. Aaliyah took our order and was very impatient the whole time. Upon arriving at the window i paid the gentleman that came to the window and was handed 2 of my 3 drinks and 1 straw. When Aaliyah handed me my food i said i still need a root beer and 2 straws she pointed to the one i had and said "it is right there" so i then reminded her of what my order was and she gave me another drink I had to ask again for 2 straws she handed me one again I had to say I had 3 drinks and 2 straws after rolling her eyes she gave me another. He then had to blow his nose for it was running down his face. Had to ask for napkins from behind was handed one from behind the counter. They touched hands. They did get the money in one minute, but failed to deliver the food they suggested I should pay for. Also, they would not hand me the small fries that were ready, because apparently I had paid for medium fries. Result? The woman that was working the drive thru is horrible I believe her name is Pari or Pali?! She was rude from the get go. I was stating my order they the drive thru and the entire time she made me feel as if I was interrupting her day. The woman was rude and kept rushing me as I was ordering. As I got up to the window I asked if I could get some condiments and she rolled her eyes did not respond walked to grab ranch and ketchup and threw it into the bag and pretty much tossed the bag thru the drive thru window. This is not the first time this has happened at this location! Management needs to be addressed and I feel that they should at least train employees to be more inviting especially when we are paying for their products. In my 50+ years of going to fast food and dives, this is the worst. The food looked and tasted like garbage (chili cheese dog meal). When I asked for mustard, a fairly common condiment, I was told they don't have any; but I could purchase honey mustard for an additional charge... You'd pay half for an equivalent meal at either McD's or Sonic. Not sure how their ice cream is, but I recommend avoiding any of their over-priced crappy meals. Although located next to the bus station, they completely abuse that convenience and public trust. This location's management has converted their DQ into a PAY Toilet ! They require you make your purchase BEFORE using the restroom. One waits in line, begs for the bathroom access code, and only upon paying them might you go. It is a pay toilet straight out of the 1970's. The manager was so smug, so rude, so condescending; The bathroom ? Well, are you going to place an order ? We were going to grab dinner but our plans changed after this outrageous treatment. I ordered just enough for my wife to use the facilities. I will only ever go there again if using the toilet is my primary concern. It is not a great place to eat. It's uncommon to see fast food employees take pride in their work and show attentiveness beyond what is minimally required by policy. Today the staff at Dairy Queen made me feel welcome and appreciated. The cashier, Chillair, was very polite and made a personal connection, the manager, Deborah V., made rounds and spoke at length with the woman sitting next to me about her well behaved young daughter, and Amanda, one of the serving staff, was attentive to the needs of the restaurant guests. Hard working crew were polite and efficient. Long lines inside and in the drive-thru made for a busy rush, what with the Bolt Bus arriving, hot temperatures, and hungry folk. The managers and staff braved the storm, kept the place clean, and handled difficult customers with care (the place is next to the bus barn, attracting travelers on their way). I wish I could give this place no stars but anyways here's my review. I've been a customer here and an employee. Yes, most fast food environments are pretty crappy but what goes on here behind closed doors is worse than you'd expect. First off, as a customer I'm not very pleased with the service I receive. The people are generally slow to get to me, slow to take my order, or slow to get my order out. The only thing I ever order here is chicken strips because frankly that's pretty much the only thing I like on their menu. Everytime I order the chicken strips I ask for ranch as a sauce, and everytime, they forget to give me my ranch. I've left the building before realizing I don't have any sauce and have had to come back and ask for some which they then try to make me pay for a second time. It's not just a thing that happens once in awhile, it happens everytime I'm there. Once, I went in to ask for a free water cup which I know they give out and the lady tried to charge me for a large soda! She went as far as to take the cup and fill it with ice and water and bring it back to me before asking me to pay and when I told her I had no money she got very huffy and paid for me but scolded me and said she wouldn't always be able to pay for my drinks. It was something she didn't have to do, and if she had paid for it and didn't make a big deal about it I would have thanked her a bunch but with how rude she was I felt very uncomfortable letting her pay for me. Another time, the same lady scolded me on asking for one dollar bills for a five when she could have easily said no and I could have gone across the street to the Co-Op to do the same thing. I try very hard to avoid going to this restaurant as the service I've received has just been awful and the employees are generally rude and don't seem to care. I've had to stand in line for more than 20 minutes just to get a sauce packet before! Not only is the customer service despicable, working there is even worse. The managers are rude and uncaring. They have favorites which you can clearly see when working there. I interviewed at this restaurant for a cashier position and was turned down. About a month later my friend introduced me to her boss and I was hired on the spot, without any interview or previous knowledge about me. All workers are supposed to get 2-3 weeks of training, and I got about 2-3 days! My boss would schedule my training during noon, the busiest time of the day there. Everyday I was scheduled to train I'd be sent home almost immediately because it was too busy to concentrate on training me. One of the people I worked with would hover over me and would move me out of the way whenever I made a mistake and would do the whole task for me. One of the managers spread a rumor saying I was mentally disabled and had severe autism after she found out I had ADD. I've been left in the middle of shifts by our shift manager so she could go and pick up drugs, and I was the only one who wasn't allowed to learn other stations at the job. I had countless people start after me who all started on register and moved on to serving, kitchen, or drive thru, yet I was never allowed to do any of those things. My boss would always insist I had to master it first before I could move on but there were others who were very bad at their job on register who had moved on. I eventually ended up calling my boss out for mistreating me and quit working at that toxic place. I do not recommend buying from this restaurant location or working here either, it's a bad environment and a toxic place to be. read more

I love the ice cream here, and it's fairly cheap. My boyfriend and I went here the other day. Jillian was the young lady helping us in the drive thru. She asked three times what we wanted. The first time she asked was after we had been sitting there for about 4 minutes, the second one she said she thought we were a new car (even though she never told us a total or anything after the first time we ordered), then the third time she asked was because she "was busy making something". We were a little peeved at saying our order three times when all we got were two blizzards. We proceeded to the window, we weren't greeted. Just told what the total was. She never asked if we wanted a receipt and also never told us to have a good day or anything. Just gave us the blizzards and closed the window. So rude and does not know how to do customer service very well. I hope her manager sees this. Also, I asked for light m&m's in my blizzard and it seemed that they put extra... dumb complaint, but when I'm paying for something, I expect it to be the way I ordered it. read more

I go to DQ at least once a week. I always feel welcomed and appreciated. I rate my service most of the time 4 1/2 stars because we are human and make mistakes. Today, Friday, 4Mar2016, my niece-n-law, Amanda, and I had the best sandwich ever. Our sandwich buns were warm and soft. Sandwich was made perfect; the cooks usually forget to put extra pickles on my sandwich, but today, they didn't. I want to thank everyone who made my food correct. The store is always clean. I am constantly seeing employees cleaning the store and emptying the trash. I love how the manager as well as the employees go around in the dining room ask customers if they would like their trash thrown away. Managers seem to love their jobs because I see smiles and always happy from most of the managers.
