Very friendly staff but prices felt a bit high for the sizes. We shared a three piece basket of cod and fries. The cod tasted great- just hoped for a bit more in size for $17.60. We would try it again if we are in the area. Love the compostable and trash options which brought it up to 5 stars. We had a 10% off coupon from our whale watching cruise from San Juan cruises- hence the total being less than the posted price plus tax.

If you want the best fries and a great view Port Haven Fish & Chips is a must stop. This place is always clean and the food is fresh and yummy.

Best fish & chips hands down. Came here a few times and every time, not only you get great service, the food is amazing. Everything tastes fresh and it is made to order. There's plenty of seating with a nice view of the dock/water. Weather permitting, you can sit outside and enjoy your meal as well.

You come into the district of Fair haven in Bellingham by train and want somewhere good to eat? Walk the 600ft to this place on the water. Fast, friendly service restaurant inside that huge building where dinner and lunch cruises are. You can eat outside (if it's nice) or inside. After ya eat visit the Maritime Museum right down the hallway from this restaurant. Great food. Cannot go wrong with this place.

With this spot right on the water, I expected greatness and it was okay. Normally I get cod fish but I was really craving the halibut so I tried a two piece fish and chips and it came out to around $20 . The first bite of a smaller fish was close to dry but the much bigger piece was juicy and flaky. It had a really great crisp, but not as much flavor in their batter. Still a good fish, the fries are okay, and their tartar sauce is really good! The cole slaw was a huge miss though, I took one bite and wanted nothing to do with it, it even smelt old. I sat outside and enjoyed the view facing the water. There's a seating area inside but the marina is so picturesque that you'll want to sit outside on the benches with the nice breeze. It's a cute spot and I'm glad I checked it out.

Love this place!! We ordered the salmon fish and chips and cod fish and chips. Everything was delicious I would recommend the cod over the salmon as the salmon isn't going to be Coho Sockeye or King Salmon but it certainly was yummy, cooked to order and they even gave is extra pieces of fish as some of what we had was on the smaller side. Lots of fries and a great view to boot! Service was quick and very efficient. Will definitely be back!

At the Bellingham Ferry Terminal near Fairhaven after eating lunch on their patio

Conveniently located in the ferry terminal the food was great. The Whiskey Crab soup was okay but the clam chowder was amazing. The fish and chips were tasty and fresh. Generous portions. The staff was very friendly. We sat in a nIce patio area with picnic tables. Enjoyed the fresh air, being near the boat and the water. There is a great little museum to tour while you are in the terminal waiting for to board the ferry.

The patio can get a bit chilly, but it's worth it for the view, and they do have heaters available. I started with a salad, followed by the Keenan's burger with a garbanzo bean patty, and the soup du jour. All three were delicious. The complimentary bread served with garlic herb spread was a wonderful start--aromatic and very satisfying. The salad had a great balance of fresh vegetables and toppings. On a cold day, the soup was especially comforting. The burger itself was well prepared and flavorful. The staff was polite and attentive, though they seemed a bit overwhelmed due to a large party seated next to us. Another nice perk: there's a boardwalk and beach right next door, making it a great place for a stroll before or after your meal.

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!

We came in for an early dinner so we were really able to enjoy the rustic ambience of this restaurant all by ourselves. As soon as we sat down the waitress was attentive and ready to take our order. I order the garden party off their cocktail menu. Snap pea gin, bay leaf vermouth, genepy, saline and pea shoot? I really was feeling adventurous with this one, a regrettable mistake. The first sip I thought I was drinking sea water with a touch of olive oil in it. I never send back drinks although I was close with this one, I sipped it throughout my meal. One critique I have about the cocktail menu is that every drink was over complicated with many exotic ingredients. There was nothing for someone who was looking for a simple craft cocktail. The table shared the Strawberry Panzanella, and once again I was accosted by an overwhelming salty and sour flavor. A traditional Italian salad consisting of grilled strawberry and focaccia croutons. The lemon vinaigrette dressing on this salad was salty and sour, and very overpowering. Unlike my drink we were unable to finish this one. I ordered the Roe Burger, which I had been really looking forward to trying, thankfully this one did not disappoint. Two smash burger patties that were thin, crispy, and cooked to perfection with slices of cheddar cheese on top are then placed on a bed of classic burger toppings. Tomato, pickles, and iceberg lettuce. This burger was served with crispy fries and garlic aioli. After my fist few bites my mind was beginning to change about this restaurant. We also shared the Reuben Croquettes. A super creative and unique spin on one of my personal favorite appetizers. These little fried pocket were filled with a delicious mixture of cheese and shredded corned beef. They were garnished with a small slice of pickle which was a great touch. For dessert we decided to try the hazelnut torte which was fantastic. It had a nice crisp outer layer with a soft gooey center. Lovely flavor and texture that ended our experience at Roe wonderfully. In conclusion our experience at Roe had its ups and downs but I left feeling satisfied. If you are looking for a unique culinary experience I would give this restaurant a try.

Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! These were so delicious I ordered two more batches to have at home. Lovely espresso martini to end it all.

I was happy to see steamed clams on the menu. I grew up eating fresh steamed seafood for dinner, so battered fried seafood that is more common here hasn't really grown on me yet. To me fried seafood is a fancy version of chicken nuggets. I loved the clams, so light but bland. The sauce is full of umami flavor, drizzled with some fresh lemon juice, it was like a summery beachy afternoon in a bowl. I could easily dip a loaf of toast with it if I had one. The clams were fresh and meaty, nothing to complain about with this dish. My partner had the grilled cheese, and he said it was mid. He's vegetarian, and I don't like cheese, so I didn't bother to try any of his meal to do my own fact check. The staff were friendly too. Overall, this is a nice place to grab lunch when visiting Bellingham.

I had a friend who used to make a mixed green salad that incorporated beets along with blue cheese. I first tried it "to be polite" and, to my surprise, I liked it quite a lot. So when I saw Beet and Goat Cheese Flat Bread on the Skylark's menu, I decided to brave it because I love goat cheese and I love a good flatbread. It was wonderful! No beety flavor, just creamy deliciousness where the goaty cheese nicely blended. Nice little dish to share too--and my companions loved it. Lavender Fields is a lovely mocktail (and a bargain at $5!)--you never see single digits on menus anymore--I had to ask if it was a mistake. No. Quite elegant and refreshing. The wonderful, attentive and charming Mischa was our server and bartender to boot. She made perfect choices for me when asked, bringing me a lovely wine to pair.
