All Dairy Queens should aspire to be like this place. I only ordered Blizzards here but the portions are fabulous. The small is the size of a large. The workers are a laid back bunch who seem to actually enjoy their job. They had a line both times I was in there and the workers aren't running to get through the line but they are making sure the customer is happy and gets a quality made blizzard. They don't leave the top full of toppings while the bottom of the blizzard is just ice cream like other DQs do. My last few bites are still full of cookie dough or Banana Cream Pie (Cut up real banana and drop in). Very Impressed with their skill. The people behind people were discussing splitting the small fries between three of them as they were saying they were great and enough for 2-3 people. They did look good and this is coming from someone who rarely orders fries. If you are in BG, then make sure you make a trip here to change your view of DQ. read more

The absolute best Dairy Queen in America. The BGDQ is grandfathered therefore they don't have to cow-tow to the rules for franchises set by DQ HQ. As a result their blizzards are ginormous. I cannot believe some people on Yelp have slammed this place. OMG! Talk about value, an abundance of ice cream, super cool Blizzards, which are their own concoctions and a retro vibe. This DQ is vintage located on the Bowling Green State University campus. They have a ton of toppings and combinations for you to try, as well as other food. Sundaes, floats, sandwiches, blizzards, prepackaged and boxed treats to take home and more. It's a fun little DQ that also serves the biggest blizzards that I've ever seen. A small is actually "2 smalls" because of the kind of lid they use. They make it so tall that they use a clear lid that makes it almost double its original size. Not your typical DQ. Huge portion sizes and an old-school atmosphere makes this place feel leagues away from all the prim and proper "chain" DQs. Apparently, this DQ has been around so long they aren't held to the same rules as the others; they're no longer considered an official franchise, but still use the DQ name and menu. They can and will heap your blizzard 6" over the edge of the cup like some heavenly Dr. Suess illustration. Counter-staff will always question your choice of a large Blizzard: "are you sure you want to do that?" Yes. Yes I do. The atmosphere inside is super cool. It definitely has an old school vibe in the seating and decor (pull-handle cigarette machine anyone?) and the staff are fun and eccentric. 4 stars for the Dirty DQ! Now I need to explain the name I just relayed to you from our BG friends. This place had become known as the Dirty DQ because of the apparent state of the bathrooms, floors, and sometimes seating... This is probably mostly due to the amount of traffic seen at this location. This place is just blocks from campus and gets frequented all through the night since it's open late. On to the more important sections of the review. The staff are a seeming hodgepodge of individuals, but that is to be expected in a college town where people come from all over to study in small town Ohio. Some are... Unique... While some are down to earth and relatable. After going a few times you really get to know who makes a killer blizzard! However, the staff rotation is never one I could understand, so it's hit or miss if your fave connoisseur will be behind the counter. They have the traditional menu of a DQ, with some extra additions to spicen up the mix. I've had their hamburger, hot chicken sandwich, fried, chili cheese fries, and all are decent. My mom loves their veil sandwich and would ask to come here for lunch when visiting. For the ice cream... If you don't know by now, they're famous for their oversized blizzards. You typically get 1.5 times the amount of blizzard than you would at a traditional DQ (see the posted pictures on this listing). They keep up with the new and favorite DQ recipes, which is nice, or you can creat your own by picking your flavor ice cream and 3 mix-ins. My favorite combo is chocolate ice cream with brownie pieces, peanut butter, and cocoa fudge.... Now I want some just thinking about it! My other fave ice cream treat was a cocoa fudge sundae with peanut butter drizzled on top. Mmhmm!! I can also attest that the frozen hot chocolate and milkshakes here are great! My friends and I always joke that this DQ must be "off the grid" from the rest of the corporate radar, mostly because everything is somehow just better at this one. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Tips: -When ordering a blizzard, ALWAYS order a small, unless you haven't eaten in three days. Their smalls are twice the size you anticipate and gigantic. -When ordering said blizzard and asked if you want a lid, always say yes. -The fries here are also delicious. -This DQ can do no wrong. I hate to say it but this place has gone steadily downhill since changing owners. Although the fries are still good, if not as plentiful as before, other items here are not the same quality as before. The chicken tenders are smaller, and not nearly the quality as before. The breading is flavorless and the texture is no longer the same. The burgers, which were great, are now being served with a very cheap grade burger patty. I'm not sure if there is non meat filler mixed in the patties or not, but they were not at all appealing in taste or looks. Maybe they ran out of their normal patties and this is a temporary substitute but if they have the same ones next time I go, that may be the last burger I get from there. I am giving two stars, one for the fries and one for the ice cream which I understand is still ok. I don't eat ice cream so I can't vouch for that personally. DQ in BG has been an institution for decades, but if things keep changing for the worse it's just a matter of time before it is a memory and no longer a business. read more

The quality of this Dairy Queen has decreased greatly over the past year or so.. It's such a shame. I used to love coming here to get a ridiculously huge serving of ice cream or French fries and didn't mind the wait because the establishment was packed! Now the wait is just as long, not because of the crowd, but because the employees are simply goofing off behind the counter (right in front of the customers). On my last visit I had an employee drop my cone because she was too caught up in some sort of hysterical conversation with a coworker; then made a 2nd cone but was the wrong size so they threw it in the garbage; & on the 3rd try they finally got it right... Originally this place was a solid 5 stars. However, recently the store has been taken over by the chain and has become a typical Dairy queen. The ice cream sizes are no longer huge, the fries no longer spill over the rim, and the cozy feeling is no longer there as they have got rid of the colorful booths. Don't get too excited, Myles Dairy Queen is what you would expect from a typical Dairy Queen franchise in any other town. I came expecting something different, considering all the hype I read here on Yelp. However, I was sadly surprised to find that Myles Dairy Queen is nothing new to the whole Dairy Queen experience. I visited with a group (only 4 people), so we expected to be in-and-out fairly quick considering we just wanted ice cream. However, the line wrapped around the dining area, which was very crowded, very loud, and sparsely updated from the 70's hardwood decorum that came with the building. The line moved somewhat slow, it took about 15 minutes to place our order. An older, rushed gentleman took our order with a forced smile, and I honestly couldn't blame him for pretending to be happy to take our order..the crowd was only growing. After eyeing the enormous topping menu (which was very impressive) I ordered a pumpkin pie blizzard, my friends ordered sundaes and milkshakes. It didn't take long after ordering for me to receive my dessert and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount that came with a medium. I expect diabetes soon to follow for anyone brave enough to order a large. No matter the size, it was expectedly delicious considering the blizzard is what the Dairy Queen empire was mainly built upon. Overall, the experience was mediocre if not barely satisfactory. Myles Dairy Queen is just that, a Dairy Queen. If you are severely craving a blizzard or sundae that are well disproportionate to their typical sizes, and you also don't mind the wait then by all means this place is for you. However, I am confused by all the hype. Maybe I am missing something here that BG has yet to show me. Yes Myles portions are enormous in comparison to most DQ's, but that doesn't make the food, service, or atmosphere any better than the rest. 2 out of 5 stars. read more

I am sitting here at 9:30, not believing that I can't get any food because they close all of the food service an hour before they actually close the doors! Whatever happened to customer service where the customer can actually buy food until the closing time? The girl at the register said that they close food early for the convenience of the employees, so they can clean up and get out at closing time. Apparently, the owner is too cheap to pay someone to clean after the doors are locked. While I am sitting here, typing this, 3-4 more people who wanted food, are being turned away. The one single time I visited this store was the first and most likely the last. The hubby and I each ordered a DQ Blizzard and the workers seemed to have little idea how to prepare the products. Every surface behind the counter (visible from the lobby) was covered in ice cream, dirty towels, and prep dishes. Our blizzards, when given to us, had ice cream heaped above the cup rim as high as the actual cup itself (picture another blizzard of the same size dumped on top of an already prepared one). Great if you were wanting double product for your money, but in the heat of the lobby, was simply a sticky, melted mess. They were completely packed, true, but I feel like that is little excuse for the level of disorganization, unproffessionalism, and uncleanliness that we encountered. read more

Myles dairy queen is awesome!!! Not like any DQ youve ever been to or will ever go to. If you order a small blizzard, it is the size of a large at any other DQ. They fill it twice as hi as the top of the cup it is served in so you have to eat fast so it doesn't melt! The cones are also big and the food isn't bad either. Burgers, hot dogs, shredded chicken are all good. Order the French fries!! A small order is enough for 2 adults and they're awesome. As other people have mentioned, the portions are HUGE. Where most DQs will give you about 10oz of ice cream in a 12oz (small) cup, it's not unusual to walk away with 16oz of Blizzard for the price of a small. Definitely plan to eat it in or get a lid. The decor doesn't look like it's been touched since the 70s, but it's a great place to take the kids or grab a cool treat on a hot summer night. Who doesn't love Dairy Queen? Yummy soft serve ice cream. Myles' DQ is almost always busy, especially in the summer, and sometimes you have to wait in a hugely long line. I don't recommend ordering anything bigger than a size small, because the DQ workers always fill up the cup way past the top, so a small is really like a medium! This was a great and unique find nearby and it helped to satisfy my craving for ice cream. This isn't a typical Dairy Queen - there are many more flavors, mixtures, and the sizes run large. A small can be split for two people and there is an option to have a quarter pound of soft serve on a cone. I ordered a small cherry sundae and it was generously portioned with a good amount of cherry sauce on top. However the sauce tasted similar to cough medicine which was a little disappointing.
