Ok. I hate saying bad things about a restaurant some have recommended but here goes. First-the good. I was ordering take out in person and they were lightening fast. Also keep in mind this was late afternoon on a Friday. Unfortunately fast may be part of the problem. I ordered curry-it was thin, one dimensional with some chicken and a few pepper slices. Some other mushy stuff I didn't recognize. It took all the rice they gave me to make it palatable. Wife had Pad Thai. Medium heat was too hot for her-she thought it was average. We also ordered Crab Rangoon. 11 bucks for 4 soggy pieces. Total bill with up charge for using credit-3%. Plus 15% tip for handing me the bag-$60 bucks! Crazy! It wound be different if the food was excellent. I think it was pre-made-getting ready for a busy Friday. That's why it was soggy and quick. You'd be better off making curry from a bottle from the store. Sorry-for 60 bucks I expected much more-for take out! We will not be back. read more

We have eaten Thai food everywhere, including SE Asia. this was an excellent Asian restaurant! we had an appetizer of shrimp spring rolls that was very nice. (Ask if you want the peanut sauce on the side). my wife had pineapple fried rice. she asked for extra vegetables and was not disappointed. I had the masamann curry dish, excellent again. A friend recommended this place for its fabulous duck noodle soup. As I was having service done on my car next-door at Les Schwab seemed like a perfect chance to give it a try. Duck is only on their dinner menu, but I decided I would spring for it since I live an hour and a half away And could take the remains home. I am having the thick noodle duck and carrot dish with a flavorful soy sauce. Definitely does not disappoint and now that I know I can find a good duck dish, I will be back frequently when I make the epic trip to Cortez. It's a bit noisy, but I can survive with that obviously, that's a sign of a popular lunch restaurant they close at 2 PM and reopen for dinner at four. read more

Had the Pad Prik Pao (Cashew Nut Stir Fried) - generous vegetables (broccoli, celery, onions, carrots, baby corn, bell pepper and cashew nut with Nam Prik Pao sauce) and portions - brown rice also available. The calamari starter was good too. Coming from NY/CA, we're spoiled by delicious authentic Thai - but still give this a solid 4 stars for the quality of food, service and price. Completely blown away by Thai Cortez & Sushi. After a long day of hiking, we just wanted to stuff our faces. Since we were visiting Cortez, we weren't sure where to go so we pulled up our Yelp app. Thai sounded awesome, so we checked out Thai Cortez. So glad we did because it was honestly some of the best Thai food I've had in Colorado. We really liked that we could call in our order and that a take out window was being used to pick up food. The staff were on top of health and safety measures, and were very friendly. It was an easy process to order and pick up. When we opened the bag we were so pumped for the large portions of food. We ordered the pla meuk tod (calamari), tom yum soup, pad see eew, and gang peth (red curry). The calamari was so crispy and came with an awesome Thai chili dipping sauce, the tom yum soup had just the right amount of heat and the fresh ginger was unreal, the pad see eew was stir fried perfectly and had a lot of beef, and the red curry...oh my God the red curry...had the most amazing sauce and eggplant. I still dream about that curry. All of the food exceeded expectations and tasted just as good reheated (we stuffed ourselves and still had food leftover for a full lunch). After an absence from Cortez for four years, we looked forward to a pleasant meal at our longstanding favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, the owners retired and the new owners changed the menu so we said, what the hell, we will try Cortez Thai. My bone said danger danger to a Thai/Sushi place but it was late and we were hungry. Apparently we went to a different restaurant than most reviewers did because our entrees bore no resemblence to the pictures nor the descriptions shown in Yelp. Nor to the majority of the reviews that led us to the establishment in the first place. We had Pad Thai and the Drunken Noodles. Neither dish had adequate saucing, scant egg or veggies where indicated and cold chicken thrown in the Pad Thai the last moment before serving. Both dishes were just a pile of rice noodles likely from two large pot given the speed they reached our table. One of the poorest reviews I have ever given. I don't think this was just a bad night.
