This place is absolutely disgusting. I had my breakfast burrito remade three times, and every single one was wrong. The first burrito had no sausage or cheese, har gravy on it and the egg was slimy. The bacon was extra crispy, which I had ordered. The second burrito had no cheese again, and the bacon wasn't cooked all the way. The third burrito still had undercooked bacon. When I went inside to address the issue, the employee told me, "That's just the way it comes." When I asked why the bacon was crispy the first time but undercooked the others, she said it was probably because the bacon had been sitting out for about three hours. Instead of fixing the problem, the staff acted like I was the issue. Between the inconsistent food, undercooked bacon, and poor attitude, this was an awful experience. You know, it's a Dairy Queen so I don't really expect gourmet cuisine served by ballerinas in tuxedos. I also don't expect that one of the employees will use the dining room as a rumpus room for her two unruly children. I get being a working parent with limited resources and how difficult that can be. What is completely unacceptable is allowing the kids to run through the dining room, screeching, and bumping into customers. One of them was so out of control that he was trying to climb up on the counter and was sitting on table tops. There were two of them and someone thought that feeding them sugar and setting them loose on the general public was a good plan. Now, before you get all atwitter about how hard it is to control kids these days, I should point out that there was also a customer in the dining area with FOUR kids (an infant, a two-ish year old, a three-ish year old, and a four-ish year old) and I didn't hear a peep out of them. If that woman can control four small children, the two school aged kids can be kept under control. If they can't, don't subject the public to their shenanigans. Specifically, don't subject your customers to them. At the very least, put them to work filling all of those empty ketchup bottles on the tables. read more

I really wanted to like this location because the only other burgers in the area are McDonalds which I'm not a fan of however the employees I've experienced in the drive through act like they are forced to be there. You ask a question and you catch attitude like you should be professionally trained in the DQ menu. I've never seen more than two cars in their drive through but it still takes 10 minutes to get through! And then you can't be like forget it I'm outta here because you're trapped in the drive through lane by a concrete wall! Whoever designed that customer trap better be getting paid because it has effectively stopped me from just leaving twice. DQ Highlander was struggling today. I'm not sure what the exact issue was but the staff was clearly frustrated and voicing it out loud. Very unprofessional. We've all had bad days and most of the time I'm sympathetic especially with current COVID conditions. However this day was extra bad. There was a lot of confusion from the staff on which order went to the drive through and which was ordered in the dining room. Meals were given to the wrong customers which skipped people who had been waiting for a while. One customer I talked to while I was waiting for my food came in after waiting outside for 20 minutes to get his food and waited another 10 minutes until they grabbed his food for him. I have always enjoyed eating and ordering cakes from Dairy Queen, that is, until we moved to Floyds Knobs. I thoroughly believe that they take pride in hiring the rudest, laziest teenagers imaginable to run this restaurant. Not only do you get horrible service, if you happen to go through the drive thru to get ice cream and ask for a lid, they will also roll their eyes and blow at you. The food and ice cream here is standard for DQ, but this location is always filthy in the dining area. Recommend drive thru if you must.

The desserts are delicious just like at all the other DQs. The food is below average in taste however. Hamburgers and Hotdogs taste like home made store bought ones; same with the sides. The staff at this location were pleasant and helpful which is appreciated. read more

I get it that people are short staffed and trying their best, but I have been to this DQ 3 times in the last month and every time it has been horrible. Last time I was in the drive thru for 25min and when we got up to the window there were children running around behind the counter and the cashier had a burger or something in her hand and was eating while working. It was ridiculous. Another time I went it took 15min in the drive thru and by the time I got my blizzard it was complete soup. I had to pull into the parking lot and walk in and ask for another one. It's very unfortunate that the Dairy Queen closest to me is getting a one star. Let me start by saying that the morning crew is always wonderful and I love the biscuits and gravy for breakfast. The dinner crew however never can seem to get my order right. I have a family of five so my orders are usually kind of big. I have learned to check my bag before driving off because I know they will forget something. I have been burned a few times. We havent been in several months but my son wanted it for dinner tonight so I caved thinking maybe, just maybe things will be different now. NOPE! We were missing a cheeseburger and a baconater. She was quick to grab them for me but when I got home we realized it was not a baconater at all, it was a flame thrower. I ordered the 4 piece chicken finger dinner with extra gravy. I got 1 chicken finger which must have been the smallest finger in the bag and several small little nugget looking things I guess that was supposed to add up to the three other chicken fingers. And not only did I not receive the extra gravy but the gravy I did receive barely filled half of the small container and was super watery. I am so disappointed! The staff are all a bunch of unhappy assholes. Especially the female working the dairy section. They gave the customers numbers for the table but she wasn't bringing the orders out to the customer according to their number. She was calling out the order- which she wasn't doing loud enough, since the counter is right by th freezers. As I watched people's treats melt half way, my husband went to the dining area and told them, "hey, if you ordered ice cream it's over here melting." The next time the girl came to the counter, I smiled at her and said "I think people can't hear you calling out their order because of the freezer noise. I can barely hear you & Im standing right here waiting for my to go order." She barely even looked at me then turned her back to me & walked off. I was just trying to be helpful. If you hate tour job, go find a different one. If you work in customer service, then provide good service. Was at McDonald's at breakfast (traveling) & the workers all talked to and smiled at us. Service was great for early breakfast. Friendly and polite workers. Price can't be beat for pretty good food.

I only give 1 star reviews if the food is consistently lousy or service is rude or dicey. Service has never been bad for me, breakfast biscuit and gravy are actually pretty terrific, shakes and other cold treats as good as any other Dairy Queen. HOWEVER, their lunch and dinner menu has made we question if I should call the health department on 3 separate and consecutive visits. Seriously. I was served a mushroom and Swiss burger with mushrooms and sauce clearly uncooked and straight from the freezer. On the next two tries I ordered barbecue sandwiches, and it was if they also took the meat from a refrigerator and put it on a bun. The last time, it was maybe 45 degrees in the center. Completely gross. I try to be pretty forgiving of fast food places with really young workers and constant turnover, but this is clearly a serious training issue that needs addressed before someone gets sick from food poisoning. read more
