I and my 5 compadres stopped by the Dairy Queen in Grandview, Oregon recently, and unfortunately, it was a frustrating experience. Before coming in, I had been watching Rango--a movie that definitely set a higher bar for entertainment than this DQ visit. For those unfamiliar Rango is a 2011 animated Western comedy directed by Gore Verbinski and features Johnny Depp as the voice of the main character, a theatrical pet chameleon who accidentally finds himself in a rough desert town called Dirt. Pretending to be a brave gunslinger, Rango is appointed sheriff and soon becomes involved in uncovering a mysterious plot about the town's missing water supply. The film parodies classic Westerns while blending humor, action, and a unique visual style. It was released by Paramount Pictures and produced by Nickelodeon Movies and Verbinski's production company, Blind Wink. Notably, Rango was the first animated film created by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), the visual effects company behind Star Wars. The film received widespread acclaim and went on to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2012, praised for its storytelling, voice acting, and imaginative animation. I specifically asked for buffalo sauce multiple times, but it never showed up in my order. I even made sure to remind them at the counter, but still nothing. The man with red hair working the register didn't seem particularly interested in helping, and I left feeling ignored and disappointed. It's not that hard to include a sauce packet, especially when a customer is asking politely--more than once. I usually enjoy Dairy Queen, but this visit left a bad taste in my mouth, and it wasn't the food. read more

I asked for "hot fries" I guess I should have said "fresh". I was starving and SO DISAPPOINTED in the quality of my burger & fries. When someone is starving even bad food tastes good. This did not. Fries tasted nuked from the microwave and hamburger patty tasted like it had been warmed up. Not going back Where's the pride DQ used to have in good burger & fries. I'm doing this for the way over-critical reviews. I've gone to this Dairy Queen for nearly 40 years. It's been in the same spot, and been the same size it's been for as long as I can remember. It has been remodeled, but I always liked the quaint little sit in area as it felt more like a local Mom and Pop fast food shop instead of a national franchise. They hire local teens from the high school, providing quite a few kids their first work experience. Yet people rant on that aspect of fast food chains all the time. They want professionalism without professional wages, and I don't see that as a fair review. For as long as I've gone, my experiences have been great. It's where I went after playing baseball in the local little league, or a treat for good grades or whatnot, and in my adult years, I still enjoy both the meals and the ice cream. There's a reason why you'll find so many people lined up in the drive through, and it's not because it's the only place. It's because it's one of the best fast food places in town. When I want a good meal for a decent price, this Dairy Queen is where I stop when I come home to Grandview. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! After waiting 10 min in line I got my order and they incorrectly made mine. Went to go into the lobby to rerun and it was locked. I saw a girl in the lobby and waved and motioned that my order was wrong. She waved me off pretty much saying to go back into the 10+ car line...not even willing to tell any of her coworkers to help me. I walked up to the drive through window and knocked...told them about the rude girl ignoring me and they acted like it was no biggie. Never Going here again. I'll go to Davies or just buy my own stuff to make. read more

If I could give a 0 star I would.... Time after Time I am continually disappointed each time I go. The only reason I keep giving them a chance is because it is the only DQ within a 30 minute drive! Dairy Queen in Grandview obviously can't find good help. I had the worse experience today. It took at least 15 min or more to order and more time waiting for the order. The drive up employee is inexperienced or just stupid! When we finally got to the pick up window the employee literally through the order at me. I was shocked!! I just spent $40 and this immature little girl (with 4 or 5 other employees huddled around the window laughing and being ridiculous and disrespectful) should have been fired on the spot for her rude behavior!! I literally will NEVER spend another penny there! This little girl said her name was "Elise" but she is the one with the two nose piercings and the huge bar through her ear. This place only survives because it's all Grandview has. Place is dirty and service is slow. On top of all that the owner treats his employees like crap and hides behind his phone. He doesn't have what it takes to handle business face to face with an employee. Don't give this guy another penny. read more

Front cashier was nice but clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed. She asked multiple clarifying not questions when we were very specific. She messed up two things on our order. They then came up to our table and asked that we pay .79 more cents because of THEIR screwup! Then they came back with the wrong blizzard! It even said on the receipt. 3 screw ups in 1 simple order! read more

I wouldn't want to even rate this place. The only reason I give it a one is because the food and deserts are excellent. But the poor customer service ruins my day! I went through the drive through as I was greeted by a young girl who only said how much the food costs. After I said thank you, I get no respond just a blank stare. If this place were to get some professionals working then this rate can be turned upside down. read more
