Went inside to order 2 pecan buster parfaits since drive thru was busy. Young male made them and sat them down on a shelf and I had to ask if they were mine. Without looking around he said "yes". Then I asked about the spoons and a young female gave me the spoons. I am fine with this, I know they are busy. BUT!!! The parfaits were already melting before I left the store. I traveled 2 minutes away to friends and literally could have used a straw because it was that melted. Couldn't take the lid off without getting melted ice cream everywhere. Either the ice cream isn't cold enough or the hot fudge is too hot. Either way, it was not an enjoyable experience and this needs to be reviewed. Based on previous reviews, we were expecting to see teenagers riding on skateboards and waiting 30 minutes for few. We were relieved to find no skateboards and fast and friendly service. They did not give us our Blizzards, but we can forgive such an error for the quality and taste of the ice cream. Waited for forever and the workers were all teenagers literally riding their skateboard around the store and hanging out with friends instead of making my order. They even asked if we were waiting for an order and we said we were and they still didn't make it and one girl gave me a nasty look. This is by far the worst Dairy Queen I have ever been to. I tried to give it another chance after the first time they messed up my cupfection, but after my recent encounter it's very clear that this is just their normal disappointing standard. The first time I came here I waited forever for my order which was fine because the worker told me that they were making my brownie for the cupfuction fresh (I know it's probably in the freezer, but I figured they were warming it up) I tried to take a bite and my spoon broke because the brownie was frozen solid... I told myself maybe it's just a fluke, so I tried to go again this week. I got cheese curds with my order; well, I shouldn't even say cheese because there wasn't any. We had one car in front of us and the wait time was around 5 minutes. The soft serve ice cream cone must have been sitting on the counter for that amount of time. It was soupy and soggy. We watch the make our sandwiches put them in the to go Box and then stick the whole Box in the microwave and nuke it I was very disappointed you never microwave poppings and they're for you should not microwave the Burger either it should be cooked on the grill and then served to the customers fresh very disappointing. read more

While visiting relatives in Granger, the opportunity to relive the past with a DQ banana split was too good to pass up. But this opportunity was one I will regret for some time to come. In exchange for my (and my wife's) $4.99, what was delivered through the drive thru window fell far below expectations. Admittedly, it's been about 30 years since I last had a DQ banana split ... there just aren't many still operating in my home state of CA, but, come on, there is a basic recipe for this classic treat ... ice cream, toppings, whipped cream, nuts, and at least one maraschino cherry, in that order. Not rocket science by any stretch of the imagination, right? But they apparently don't have that recipe here. Or at least not today - 3/7/2021. Our pair of treats were pathetic to say the least, and I'm sorry I didn't take a picture. In the four minutes from the drive thru to the living room, the piddly squirt of whipped cream was a puddle of white suds ... probably not even real cream by the taste of it. And that was only the beginning. There was maybe a teaspoon of strawberry syrup ... not a berry or berry part in sight ... four little chunks of pineapple and barely any syrup to go with them ... and maybe a teaspoon of chocolate syrup. All of this covered less soft serve than what was in the cup our passenger got with his large strawberry sundae (which also contained an enviable amount of red liquid). At least the half of a banana cut into two pieces was fresh. But no nuts ... if you're supposed to request those, they should at least ask if you want them ... and the cherry was only a memory of banana splits past. If this isn't the standard product, I'll probably never know, because one bad experience goes a long way. That and it's about 2,000 miles from home to here, so it will be some time before I might have another chance. read more

The cook didn't have a mask on, the cashier didn't have a mask on, and on top of everything my blizzard was melted before I received it. I stopped here as I was heading out on a business trip. Quite a few people eating in the lobby (unsure of how busy the outside drive thru was). Service was very fast (they actually bring your food to the table). I ordered a cheeseburger combo meal and it was prepared as I ordered. Food was hot and very good. The burger patty is bigger than say a McDonald's patty or Burger King burger patty. French fries were not overly salted which was just fine since the tables have ketchup bottles and salt dispensers at them. A new coke "freestyle" dispensing machine allowed me to pick from dozens of flavor options (I am a big fan of these machines which I first spotted at a Five Guys restaurant a while back). I ordered a Reese's Blizzard on the way out (I have a sweet tooth) and it was a perfect treat. Not sure if this is a brand new building or if it is renovated, but the inside and outside looks new (new eating area with TV, outside patio, new parking lot, landscaping, fancy electric menu boards, etc.). Inside appeared to be clean (tables and floors). If I am coming thru the area again an need something quick to eat I will definitely be back. read more

Went here almost a year ago and got food positioning. Recently, after the KFC in granger sadly closed, that's only left 2 fast food options in town: DQ and McDonalds. As the wait time for the drive thru line at McDonalds is beyond horrible, I decided to roll the dice and give DQ another try. The couple times I've been back I've been pleasantly surprised. Food is hot, orders are correct, and service time could be better (but at least it's not a 45 minute wait in the drive thru like McDonalds) and no food poisoning! I'll remain cautiously optimistic. With the limited fast food options in Granger, I recommend the DQ. It looks like they've got their sh*t together now, hopefully it stays that way. read more

This DQ charges more for a SMALL blizzard as the DQ on US 31 N across the state line in Niles does for a LARGE blizzard. Found the same to be true at the DQ close to ND - same ownership? Additionally, the blizzard was only about 2/3 full. It's worth the trip to visit the Niles location. read more

I visited this location and pulled in the Drive-thru. There was one car in the window and one car in the parking lot. I started to order when I was told it would be a thirty minute wait. I asked for Ice Cream and was told yes. I did not order and pulled up to the window and looked in and none of the workers were doing any work. I drove around to the side and looked thru the window where I saw all the employees celebrating something and laughing. Meanwhile the one car in the lot was served. I immediately call the Manager and asked if they were planning a game with customers. I explained to her what happened. She explained that 20 minutes before I called they were on a 30 minute wait. I said but what is the wait now and she said no wait. I asked why I was told two minutes ago that there was a 20 minute wait. She hung up on me. I was never rude or loud. I called back and she had no explanation. I asked for the owner to call me and take my number. She informed me she had my number on caller ID and hung up again. She never asked my name and I never received a call. How is this type of service possible? I have been in retail for 40 years and have never experienced any manager acing in such an unprofessional manner. Please call me. read more

This Dairy Queen recently changed ownership or management and it has been unfortunate. We used to enjoy going there - always had fast, friendly service and treats and food were very good. While they have made the building more attractive, it certainly does not make up for business itself going completely downhill. Wait time is at least 45 minutes (no matter how busy or not busy they are), workers have no clue what they are doing and have no idea how to deliver good customer service...and when you do finally get your food it is not worth the wait. The food quality is not nearly what it used to be and the frozen treats are often half melted and/or made incorrectly. Save yourself some time and drive to the Mishawaka or Elkhart location - I guarantee you will be served quicker even if your drive time is doubled or tripled! read more

I have been here a total 4 times and each time I was served by an employee who seemed as though they we're fairly new, like they didn't want to be there and that I was a nusance for just being there. I recently had a order mistake and was supposed to get a free blizzard coupon. When I got home I saw that it was a coupon for a $1 blizzard. Later, when I went back to the store I told the owner about the situation and she insisted that I was in the wrong and made me feel stupid for mentioning the misunderstanding. The atmosphere, service, and employee attititude comes from the top down and I must say this Dairy Queen is definitely missmanaged. I took my son to get ice cream and left furious over the horribly rude service! I watched half my blizzard order sit on the counter melting (along with other customers orders) while they waited 10 minutes to make the rest of my order. I watched 2 other customers complain about not being told their ice cream was ready while it melted to soup, and the rude staff didn't even acknowledge their aggravation. This is the worst staff at any fast food place I've been at. I find it hard to believe that the managers or owners don't read these reviews and completely overhaul that staff of miserable, rude kids who know nothing about customer service. read more

Seriously...this is ice cream. How hard can it be? DQ has ads all over the TV, so people are going to be coming in. The service here STINKS! However, it starts with the bad attitude of the supervisors that work in that place. They have no interest in maintaining any sort of professional work environment or decorum among the staff. My daughter and I went here last night and ordered 2, 4 piece chicken strip dinners, we have gotten these in the past and were always good, but last night I think maybe I had 10 fries in mine and she had maybe 5, it was PATHETIC. We used to love this Dairy Queen. The food was always hot and cooked fresh to order... That seemed to changed once they renovated. The last several times we've been, the employees have been extremely rude like we were bothering them for coming and they didn't know the menu (we were told the kids meals didn't come with a treat when it did), the wait time in the drive thru was a minimum 20 minutes and one time was over 30 minutes, and the food was ice cold and tasted like it had been sitting for hours (even though we waited an insane amount of time for a burger and fries). I don't know what's going on there, but we definitely won't be going back any time soon. I'm joining the band wagon on posting a terrible review. I've been there multiple times and have gotten cold food or poorly made blizzards! I am usually not the one to complain since I've worked here and i work in the food industry but if it happens over and over again than something needs to be said. Tonight we ordered four blizzards, two being plain Reese's blizzards. They had little to no Reese's in them and it was not mixed at all they all were on the bottom. I called to see what was up and they said that they could only replace one because the owner watched them make it and they were made properly. But when I worked there and when I've been there recently the owner was not there or she was in the office. Poor customer service!!! Cold chicken strips when I went there last!! Won't be going there again. I'd rather drive a couple extra minutes for better quality food at the Dairy Queen on McKinley!! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a turtle pecan blizzard and had 3 bites with pecans, the rest was plain vanilla ice cream as they failed to add the chocolate and caramel. When I spoke with the manager (who turned out to be the owner), she said to come back right away and she would replace the blizzard. I could not just turn around and come back, so she said to come back in a few hours. Normally, restaurants either give a two-week window (or longer) to come back. I told her I could not come back that night and asked if the next day would be fine. She hesitated, but finally agreed. The next day I returned and had my kids with me and groceries in the trunk, so I chose the drive through (as I had the day before). After waiting behind several cars, I was informed I had to come inside for a replacement order. I was frustrated as I had already waited in line and was now being told I had to come in and wait for service. I asked what difference it made and they replied, "We have to get the book out of the office and check for your name." Nobody was behind me and I still had to wait for the cars in front of me before I could leave the drive through since there is no way out. I mentioned this to her and she said, "Well, I can't move the cars!" I laughed at the ignorance, waited in line once again, then went inside. There were at least 10 employees standing and talking behind the counter and I finally got the attention of the lady who "helped" me in the drive through line. She made the blizzard and I asked to speak to the owner. She talked to another worker for a few minutes, then excused herself and walked outside. I thought she left but I waited for another 10 minutes (maybe longer) and she came back inside, only to tell me that the person I spoke with the night before was the owner and she had just left the parking lot to go to another of the Dairy Queens that she owned (apparently they somehow manage to operate 3 of them in the area). She refused to give her number and took my information, stating that the owner would call me. It has been several weeks and I have had no call. The attitudes and lack of customer service are enough to keep customers from coming back, but even if customers can deal with that, the food is not made correctly, nor with the correct amount of goodies inside. Ever since this restaurant has changed owners, it has gone downhill to the extreme. Good luck to those of you who try it, or have issues that need resolved.
