We went to Flat Rock Grill for Mothers Day brunch, service was great, there was a line to the buffet however it moved right along, Kelley, I think was the manager was constantly making sure everyone was enjoying themself as busy as they were everything went smooth, always bringing out more food to fill. they had a flower station on the patio to make a pretty bouquet for your mom as well as a photo station to snap a photo. We will be back next Mothers Day and they said they do a brunch for Easter as well. we do like going there on Friday night for dinner!

    Fish and Chips

The restaurant and atmosphere are great. Kids have games to play, service is good. I would recommend pizza or burgers. The quantities are a small for the fish and chips. They should price the fish and chips by the number of fish pieces or at least inform you on the menu to make a different choice. $18.50 for two pieces with some fries is a little lacking. The norm at most places is three. I would stop back by, but will not order that plate again.

Amazing service - a menu with many choices. I had the fresh peach salad, others had chicken and waffles, pizza and the burger, and they all were delicious.

What a gem for Edwardsburg. We stopped in for Saturday lunch. They weren't overly busy but started to fill up while we were there. Our server was very nice. She was new so couldn't make many recommendations but other servers passing by were glad to help. We started with cheese curds and the ahi. The portion on the ahi is plenty for a meal. Good spice levels. I had the pulled pork sandwich. Tender and juicy and the bbq sauce was good. I chose a side salad which was more than enough for a meal. Others had the breakfast burger and steak. All dishes great. We also tried three of their desserts. Apple crisp, birthday cake cheese cake and tiramisu mousse. The mousse was amazing and presentation a 10. Prices are reasonable and they are very friendly. Looking forward to going back.

It was "ok", the service and the food, just ok. Soggy onion rings, patty melt with soft toasted bread. No, we were less than impressed...

What left me puzzled is food. What I loved were fries, round shaped which I thought was rather unusual and just the right amount of salt, crispiness, softness inside. That's about it though. As a main dish I picked prosciutto focaccia and while on paper it looked great, it came out very dry, almost stale, I didn't enjoy it at all. While fries were great, the portion of it was tiny. Like, 10 or 11 fries in a small plate. My partner got a chicken sandwich and it was good. Now, the kids got kids burger which comes with fries too and I swear the kids plate had double the fries compared to my side. We also got kids pasta and it was the same size as someone's pasta from our party. I mean, great value for kids menu items, sure, but I'm just not sure why adult dishes are so slim compared to kids. When they brought the check we noticed two items in it that we didn't order, which we realized after paying for it and looking at the receipt (they use portable terminals and have an option to text you the receipt). Our server corrected the mistake and refunded the difference for the two items we didn't order promptly after we pointed it out but this still left a bad aftertaste for us; we don't always look at receipts and this one would've gone unnoticed for sure, we only looked because total seems a bit too high. I also noticed that the soup upcharge on the menu is $2, but on the check it was $3. Pointed it out to the server too but she didn't do anything about it. It's just a dollar so we didn't press for it, and again, only noticed it because we started looking at the receipt due to unusually high total. Anyway, it was nice to visit, but we won't be back.

Nestled in downtown Kalamazoo, Brick and Brine specializes in cocktails and steaks, but they also offer a variety of menu options to fit all tastes. We celebrated my father's 70th birthday here, and it didn't disappoint. They offer a variety of spaces to fit small and large groups. We hosted 10 people in their main dining room, and it was the perfect ambiance. Their dinner rolls are complimentary, super fluffy and come with a side of black salted butter. We also started with the house salad, and I split two specials - a potatoes au gratin dish along with a dish called Jafar's Chicken. Both were incredible. I highly recommend venturing here for any occasion! Thank you, Kenzie and team for an amazing time!

The seating was uncomfortable- our knees were touching the underside of the table because the tables in the section are short and not meant to be dining tables for a full on sit down meal. Spoke + Ivy (west Main Street, FW) - another locally unique dinning experience that deserves a try…read more Spoke + Ivy is located on west Main Street - across the parking lot from Redwood Inn restaurant, if that helps. This restaurant is set in an old building that used to house a pharmacy. It retains the character of the building via the hardwood interiors, tall ceilings, large window views of the street and concrete/industrial ceilings. The interior is nicely decorated with inviting green, brown wood and black accent colors. Table settings were very attractive as well. You can park in the small side lot or on the street. Reservations are easily made on line. The team is very friendly and welcoming. All set the stage for a fun and relaxing dinner experience. Spoke + Ivy has a very small food and specialty cocktail menu. This is the second time we have been here. Each time we found the food to be delicious and the cocktails are uniquely designed. Here is a run down on the food items we ordered: -Focaccia Bread: a mildly sweet, dense/firm bread, slightly airy with a touch of herbs to accent. It is cut into blocks so it is easier to share. The vodka sauce is thin in consistency with a smooth Italian seasoned tomato appeal. Both make for a deliciously simple starter. -Lobster Roll Rangoon: decided to give this a try. It comes out as one large Rangoon - not individual pieces. This means that you must awkwardly cut this shareable into pieces. The slightly crispy & oily wrapper is similar to most crab Rangoon pieces. It has a nice crisp. The inside has shredded pieces of lobster. It was not filled with creme cheese sauce like traditional rangoons - just plain. The green lemon parsley sauce was simply outstanding! It's very fresh, moderately thick and has a slightly tart taste. This added "the sauce" to what the inside of the Rangoon was lacking. -Milanese: nicely breaded chicken that was very moist. The breading is slightly sweet. The fresh bed of arugula salad is a nice add -Prime Rib Pho: this sounded really interesting. It's a smaller/healthier dish. The medium rare prime rib was sliced thin and tender. There wasn't many pieces of prime rib in this dish. The add-ins were fresh and much like you would expect from a Pho dish - just not as much volume. The broth has a chili oil base that gives it a spicier flavor. Overall we really enjoy this relaxed atmosphere and character of the building. The delicious food and cocktails are excellent.

We were seated in a very awkward corner table for two where the tables were really close together. Since it was our Valentine's celebration, I would have been uncomfortable with the tables next to us having people at them because it didn't give you any privacy or space for private conversation. We did not get drinks or appetizers. Our meals were very good (salmon and chicken). The server was good but didn't refill my water and that' a big deal to me. Also, it's supposed to be an upscale place and they were out of paper towels in the bathroom. I feel like that is just basic service they should check on regularly.
