Food is always good. We like getting the pup a pup cup. Now, even when we go to the atm she's expecting something . They changed the drive thru. You have to turn on 5th street now. It was creating a lot of problems for traffic on Main Street. Big problems actually as people tried to pull over and we're still blocking traffic. Do they know how to cut down on that problem? Get off your lazy ass and go in if it's too backed up . Anyway, the drive through has gotten extremely slow over the last couple of years which is creating the problem in the first place. They used to do a good job moving the drive through along. Not sure what happened. read more

All I can say is BUY BEWARE. Granted it was busy but all I wanted was a medium shake and some onion rings and never expected to spend $9 for some really cold chocolate milk. When I ordered I asked if it was possible to make the shake a mocha shake by adding coffee? The person said yes, so I said great, please add coffee. And no whipped cream please. OK. Order over. I get to the window and of course the shake has something vaguely resembling whipped cream. I say I asked for no whipped cream. She says do you want me to scrape it off or make a new one? I think about the long line of cars behind me and it's not worth it so I just take it and then am in shock when she says it'll be $9 and change. OK, I know the shake was outrageously overpriced at $4.79 to begin with so maybe I didn't pay close enough attention to the O rings plus tax. But $9! After I drive off, mix in this so-called whipped cream which just sits like lumps in the so-called shake and take a drink; there is basically NO coffee/mocha flavor *at all* AND it is basically not really a shake at all - just a big plastic cup of very cold chocolate milk. Ice cream, you say? Cold ice cream soup in a straw maybe. Then when I get a chance to glance at the check I see they had the gall to UPCHARGE me 70 cents to "add coffee" to make it mocha! I have ordered who knows how many mocha milkshakes from a LOT of different DQs not just around NWI Indiana (Portage, Merrillville, etc) and NEVER EVER been given an UPCHARGE to make a chocolate shake a mocha shake. And if she had told me when I ordered I would definitely have said no, not worth it! But it never entered my mind - I have never paid an upcharge anywhere else - DQ or Dairy Dip or anywhere else for a mocha shake - never occurred to me it would be extra! And then it didn't even taste like mocha anyway. So I ended up with a really expensive cup of soupy very cold chocolate milk with lumps of fake whipped cream floating around it in. Yum. Not. I guess because it's the only place in downtown Hobart to go for a fast food fix they figure they can get away with this but if I could give it ZERO stars I would. I remember when this was still just a DQ stand-- no brazier meant no french fries, burgers, and the like. when the change came, oh, was Hobart happier... and on its way to eating a lot more. I love DQ. I love many items, but some favorites: -Lime Mister Misty -Peanut Buster Parfait -Crunch Cone -Cheeseburgers -Chili Cheese Dogs -Pretty much any Blizzard. I bought 45.00 dollars worth the food less than a month ago. And was parked on right side of building for 40 minutes as employees kept coming up and saying did you get this, by the time we got are food I asked to speak to a manager and they send some guy that looked like he was in high school still. I said is the boss here he said no and took my phone number and I said he'd have the boss call. When I got home, I opened the food and there was no sauce on the flamethrower and the 4 piece chicken was spicy (not what we ordered.) Manager called that night and apologize and told us she was going to have to retrain the people making the food. Told me that next time I came in, there will be a credit for a 4 piece chicken basket and flamethrower. So today went back to DQ and thought well I have a credit for the 4 piece chicken, so I will get a 6 piece and a 4 piece basket and tell them I have a credit for the 4 piece. Low and behold they know nothing about it. The manager I talked to tonight was not a pleasant person to deal with and claimed there are 6 different managers that work here. Went in there ordered 4 peice chicken tender . The prices I got were very small so I asked for bigger pieces. Manager says no that's all you get. An employee says to another customer about how I'm asking for bigger chicken. This all starts an argument with all the other people. I had to remove me and my family from this dq before it got out of hand. Needless to say. This dq will kit get my services anymore. read more
