This place is such a cute little hidden gem. They have a nice outside to sit. Even though there is no inside seating they have a drive thru and you can order inside. It is nice that they offer not only endless ice cream options but also a wide variety of foods. There were so many flavors so it was hard to decide they also had a lot of different toppings, smoothies, shakes and even frappacinos. My mom, sister, and I decided to come here for some ice cream. My sister ordered a chocolate dipped cone, mom a turtle sundae, and I got the jumbo banana split. Everyone's sweet tooth was satisfied! Their portion sizes are good and the ice cream was great! They don't skimp on the ingredients in the sundae or banana split like some other places. They also have a food menu with things like burgers, wraps, gyros, etc. on their menu. The staff is very friendly. There is room to sit inside and dine or plenty of picnic tables outside. Sometimes the tacos are the best tacos you will ever have. There's one chef that makes them perfect every time. Pretty much everything else is about the same every time. The foods all pretty good for what I call a step above your typical fast food (mcD's etc). My only complaint is they don't carry any dairy free options for ice cream so I end up going to dairy belle for their dole whip. read more

We used to love going to get Philly steak sandwiches. The best thing on the menu. The fries are yummy too. The last three times we went, the quality of product has gone down and the workers don't seem to think ahead. This was a fun little place we found on our vacation. My family and I ended up going there 3 times which is usually not something we do on vacation because we like to try different places. My 4 year old loved the mac and cheese bites so that was a big part of our returning to this place. The food itself was probably 3.5 stars for me. The burger was ok. I loved the fries and the tacos. The ice cream is fun because they have several different flavors of dips. My kids got vanilla dipped in cotton candy and they loved it. The ice cream itself is not amazing, but it's ice cream and you can't go wrong with ice cream. The customer service was pretty good and I really felt at home at this place. My 4 year old asked if we could go to Tastee Top when we get home. Unfortunately, that would take us about 6 hours to get there. I enjoyed this place, but not enough to drive that far. read more

My husband and I finally made it over to Tastee Top last night. after watching it be remodeled over the last year. I grew up not far from a Tastee Freeze and it had that ice cream on the go feeling to it. The drive thru was packed so we decided to head on in to order. My husband ordered a strawberry shake and I had Cake Batter shake. Both were excellent! They were made fairly quickly and were very yummy. Cake batter can be hit or miss but theirs is perfection. I'm a slow ice cream eater and a lot of times shakes lose their flavor as they melt. But as my Cake Batter shake melted it still tasted great. The inside of Tastee Top is very small and with a lot of people waiting to order/pick up makes it kind of cramped. We did appreciate them having their cup, bowl and cone sizes on display, making size an easy choice. (Their medium is a medium, not small, not large) The menu was huge and it a bit overwhelming but I grabbed a to go menu on the way out for next time so we can figure out our order ahead of time and not stand staring at the wall in the confined space. Items that interested me -cotton candy dip- it sounded gross but looked yummy -funnel cake sundae -the various shake/freeze (aka blizzard) flavors -slushes.. the few I saw looked really good Hopefully they stick around! The ice cream is fantastic, shakes, cones, etc. The regular food is okay, I find myself eating here because of the location, not because of the quality. Rather than having a few signature items that are really good, they have a lot of just average foods, mostly just the quick fix stuff from Dawn for Gordon's food. A lot of stuff has been in the warmers for awhile (hot dog casings are a bit chewy from being heated too long) the chili is just canned and heated up, and sliced processed cheese is on a lot of foods. The ice cream is the real winner, and I wish they would really do a few home-made foods rather than a plethora of pre-made or pre-formed foods, but is worth the stop when in the area. read more

went there today craving a burger and fries . the drive-through was a long line of 5 cars and it was about lunch time . just as I pulled up the employee only door opened and out walks a TT girl . she took my order like a living speaker box. I ordered the #2 combo which is a dbl cheese burger and large fries and large Coke. She told me to pull up to the window and pay . by the time I pulled up and paid (about $7.75) the food was handed out to me . The fries were crisp and salted to perfection . The Burger had two patties and two slices of cheese , shredded lettuce and pickles . I added more Ketchup and Mustard at home. It was a fall apart sloppy mess , buns slid apart and the burger lost its integrity . It was a handful and I enjoyed every last bite of it . Plenty of fries ,enough to share . all quickly made and handed out hot and fresh off the grill . so good . I'd say 4.5 stars . read more

An old Cedar Lake classic is back, great ice cream.....only complaint was the cherry shake didn't taste much like cherry. However the people are trying to train the kids that work there, so I would expect some delays, or issues for another week or so, but I know that it will be great! Tastee Top is a ridiculously adorable local place to stop and get ice cream. I regularly go and it always makes me feel happy to be there. The price is pretty great. I love the crazy amount of flavor options. The ice cream often tastes a bit watery though which is a bummer. I recommend avoiding getting your Ice cream dipped in chocolate. The chocolate coating is waxy which is pretty strange. There are ups and down to this place, but I always end up going back. read more
