    Seriously DQ on Scalp Ave

Seriously DQ on Scalp Ave.... you can do better than this. Ordered Ultimate Reese's Blizzard. Where are the Reese's pieces and peanut butter cups? Shame on you. I will NEVER give you my business again. Look at what I got compared to what they advertise.

You see anything but ice cream???

Who knew that a frozen custard stand that started in Duncansville had such a reach. Checking out the website you will notice that a lot of the locations are franchises, which is the case with this one. This actually replaces the location that was at the cloverleaf. I don't know the reasons for the move, nor do I care. This now sits on Scalp Ave. in the Richland area. It sits in a building that has been everything from a therapy office to a pharmacy. Maybe this one will stick. Right next door is a Em's Sub and I have heard that he owns this as well. What I did find interesting is that there is a swing door connecting the two spaces. So stop in for a sub for your lunch and then swing over and get dessert. The location with inside seating also has outdoor seating and a drive thru. Making for needing an excuse not to get frozen custard nearly non-existent. Check out their website or Facebook page and you will be up to date with their flavors for the week and specials that happen throughout a month. I just happened to stop by when they had peanut butter melt away as a flavor and my god was that delicious. I chose to get mine in a cup instead of a cone, I don't like the mess of a cone. The pic you see is a medium, and that to me is more than enough. The space is clean as could be, and with the white interior it really does give off the feeling of a an old time malt shop. The staff are friendly, and quick as can be. They are accommodating as well.

The Meadows has many stores and has been serving creamy frozen custard for over 60 years. We were promptly waited on by the friendly and helpful staff. We are from Baltimore, Maryland, and I have never had frozen custard. My husband enjoyed a medium cup of Cappuccino Chocolate Chunk and I had the Dirty Turtle in a cone, but they gave me a small cup to keep it all together. The servings were generous and the tastes delicious. We were sold on the custards!

I like the old fashioned candy section: coconut patties, flying saucers, peppermint sticks, and more. The store has an impressive selection of types of candy. This location also has an ice cream shop. I recently found out that they ship their goods. I ordered the cherry cordials 3 days before Mother's Day and they arrived promptly and packaged well--even included free gift wrapping. My only complaint is the prices can be a little steep. However, I don't mind paying extra for homemade items, especially when the quality is consistently great like O'Shea's.

We visited in the evening for ice cream. My oh my, I have never seen a menu with so many options and flavors!!! Very impressed, and over overwhelmed ( in a good way!!). I really enjoyed reading some of the sundae optioned named for the Johnstown area - the JOHNSTOWN Flood, the inclined plane, etc. Once we decided on milkshakes, we placed our order (very polite staff). Wow, milkshakes were delicious and creamy! Generous portion and tasted great! This location ships chocolates, here's their website - osheascandies.com Excellent job O'Sheas! It's nice to see a local family business still providing a great product and service for so many years! PS - my mother was so happy to see Chocolate Marshmallow Flavored Milk Shakes - this is a flavor that's very hard to find! Thank you!! :)

Don't read that as I do like what they are serving. Who could complain about frozen yogurt with tons of toppings to choose from. The options are endless and quite delicious. What I am really skeptical about is the fact that this is a Christian based company that could easily offend any number of subset cultures in the nation. If you do a little research you find out that the "frog" part of the name is actually an acronym that stands for "Fully Rely On God." I'm not very religious myself and I have no hard feelings towards any one that believes in any type of religion. Just not my cup of tea. I can go to several other ice cream shops without scrutiny. **Bonus for this place, you get a deal when you check in on Yelp.

Whenever they told me the frog part of the name stood for fully reliant on god, I was a little skeptical but decided to try it anyways. If I remember correctly the store had 6 machines for a total of 12 flavors to try. Even more impressive was their topping bar which was easily the biggest I have seen in a froyo place. Everything that I had ended up being spot on and the only thing I noticed related to the name was a book about frog and Goliath which was a-ok by me. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I imagine it will become one of our normal stops when visiting my fiancés parents.

In all the time that I have lived in and around Johnstown, I had never been able to make it here…read more On a recent trip back home I met my sister and her family for a dinner. I'm glad I finally did to check this place of my to try list. From the outside, it looks like a typical hole-in-the-wall bar in the Johnstown area. I had no idea where parking was because every time I drove past here I would be doing it at a pace I couldn't see. I was happy to see that there was ample parking behind the street facing building. Entry from the parking lot takes you up stairs or a zig-zagging ramp that looks fairly new. This area is also connected to an outdoor seating area, can't really call it a patio. Or, you can enter from outside and take the stairs up into dining room. This is a seat yourself establishment. Once you are seated, you are greeted and given menus. What an extensive menu it is. The amount of items on the menu, if you haven't been here before, can be daunting. It took me a few minutes to just give it a once over. When the server came back around to take our drink order she asked if we needed a few more minutes, yes, we did. When she returned I was ready to go. I ordered the Pickle Chips as my appetizer and the Howler as my main. The Pickle Chips were served with a side of ranch for dipping and they were amazing. Perfectly coated, not too much and not too little. Dipping in the ranch cooled them down just enough to be enjoyable. Now, the Howler, is kind of an experience. The Howler is one of their signature burgers. Half-pound patty cooked to your liking. The set toppings on this burger is bacon, choice of cheese (American Cheddar, Swiss, Provolone, or Pepper Jack), meat sauce, and a fried egg. You also can choose to add lettuce tomato onion and pickle. For mine, I went American for the cheese, lettuce, onion and pickle. There really wasn't any need for condiments as there was already so much on the burger to give it flavor. It almost comes off as either a breakfast burger or a chili cheese burger. Although I did as for medium, they overcooked it a bit. What was a nice addition here was the side. You can go with the traditional fries or go for one of many that don't seem to have an upcharge to it. Tater tots, slaw, applesauce, or nachos and one item for an upcharge, onion rings. I went with tater tots. Overall, this was an enjoyable meal. Our service was impeccable. Atmosphere was lively.
