Stopped here for a couple quick Blizzards. Ordered on mobile app to avoid lines & drive through wackiness. When I arrived there was no one at counter and 3 customers looking around at each other in confusion. I quickly realized the cashier guy was visiting with his friend who was eating at a table. Once another employee yelled at him to get back up to the counter he sauntered back up to his post. They were able to quickly grab our Blizzards. We did the Pumpkin Pie flavor which had zero pumpkin pie. Seemed like a chemists put pumpkin pie flavoring in their soft serve ice cream and crumbled up some ginger snap cookies with a little whip cream added for looks. I think with a little tighter mgt. this place could get 3-4 stars. Will probably skip for lunch. read more

My wife and kids stopped by after hiking the Painted Hills National Park in 90° weather. Everyone wanted ice cream to hold us over until dinner. My wife and I were looking forward to the Peanut Butter Puppy Chow blizzards. I can tell you, I had three chunks of chocolate candy pieces (I think this is the "puppy chow") and about three of four flecks of chocolate. I don't recall seeing, much less tasting the peanut butter component to this confection. It was more like soft serve ice cream with hints of chocolate and peanut butter. Let's put it this way; if they were feeding this puppy chow to puppies as a foundation of sustenance, they'd be arrested for animal abuse. Pathetic. My oldest daughter ordered a cotton candy blizzard, which is hard to screw up, but they managed that failure effectively too. All three of us with blizzards reported they were the worst we had experienced. My youngest daughter got the Brownie Oreo Cupfection...well done, Prineville DQ...you didn't screw this one up. read more

My husband went in last night at 8:06. As he was waiting on his food the girl behind the counter was eating fries from a basket in which she ended up putting in his bag. So in other words his fries. He demanded a new fry. She was coughing and apparently sick not to mention how gross and so unprofessional to be eating the customers food they purchase. When he asked the guy there for a new fry he asked why and he said because she's been eating from my order that I paid for. He turned around and asked her if she was and she said yes I always do!! We have been there on numerous occasions as this same women is on shift making out with her boyfriend whom looks homeless while she's in between orders. The lack of professionalism is disgusting. I realize this is fast food but I have never seen this at any establishment. The owners deserve a better face to their establishment. read more

I'm from Sacramento and the Dairy Queen here in Prineville really tops the quality and cleanliness over the ones where I live. They really take care of the place here. We stopped there for dinner tonight. We shouldn't have. We decided to dine in since they opened up alittle more due to COVID. We went to every table and not a single one had been cleaned. We asked for a rag to wipe it down with and the employee turns and asks where we keep the cleaning rags. Are you kidding me?! he gets a rag and come and wipe down one of the tables but he litteraly wiped down half of the table and then leaves with food still on the table. The kid had no idea how to wipe down even a table. We decided to eat anyways, we aleady paid. Later on the manager walks through from out front. You could tell she was coming back from lunch break. As she walked by she filled the place with the smell of weed. Very unprofessional...if the employees don't know how to clean where the public is eating. What makes me think the kitchen and the employees are clean? We know the manager came back in high. Maybe somebody should consider re training. read more

After I ordered a combo meal and didn't get my fries, I went back to the counter and the cashier Morgan told me that it would be an extra $1.50 and I said it was fine since apparently the cashier before that didn't ring me up for a combo.. $5 lunch is now a joke. When first offered this was a great deal, however, read on. Originally they put out a great hamburger, however, they now are providing a minuscule size burger that is even sub par when compared to other dollar offerings made by several other chains. Don't fall for the hype, your $5 can be better spent elsewhere. read more

my family does use our dairy queen quite often (avg. once a wk for about 20 yrs) .... after working on our small place all day (1 &1/2 acre) we just grab D/Q as for dinner, cuz quick and easy ..... the burgers are just right, but the fries are a "joke" !! it's like they give you this little "trial box" of fries, 1/2 full to 3/4, and never over the top (it's just a potato, give it up) !! i'v even gone on to order "the box of fries", and still very disappointed, once again, it's just a potato !! the service is ok, but not to the upper level, people working in drive-up seem to want to talk fast, but your not going faster then the car in front of you ! as i'm getting older it seems all words run together, i'v even had my wife listen, and she is 10 yrs. younger, but she feels the same way ... my order is always the same ..... 4 num. 2's, 3 sierra mist & 1 diet, + 1 extra order of fries, and to this day i'v only come home with the extra order of fries a couple of times ...... i just may have to order the same, then go 2 blocks further to Micky D's, and get my fries... out of curiosity, i wonder if management has gone through drive-up, just to check things out .... my first legit job was at friends D/Q at 16, and worked off & on through collage, proly one of 1st D/Q's to have a kinda drive-up (1967) our boss or his wife would go through at least once a week . steve reis sr read more
