The hours online say that it's 11am-9pm. We went at 7:00 trying to get some food. We looked specifically for the hours considering it's the week of new years. It says that the restaurant is still open until 9pm. We get to the intercom and we are the only ones in line and there is no response. We wait for a few minutes hoping someone comes to take our order....nothing. We try the door and it's locked. It's dark on the inside but zero notice on the door and nothing saying that it's closed. Don't even deserve 1 star. Ordered 2 meals at the drive thru. The intercom is broken. Things happen. Ordered directly at the window. Kid asked 2 times if we wanted the meal. Yes! Ok..we lived here for years and this DQ was THE worst I had ever been to. However, we moved to AZ and are back for a couple of weddings and this was THE best experience we have had. As far as food I usually get the chicken tenders basket with gravy for dip. Seems they may have changed the chicken strips from what they were a couple years ago, but they are still good. The fries onion rings and cheese curds are nothing special but they are ok. The ice cream is as good as it's always been. The service is a bit slow as it seems they are usually running behind in pick up orders but it's nice they keep the neighborhood kids employed. My wife and I moved to a house right by this DQ back in 2022 and went to this DQ on a regular basis for the first year we were here. We consistently had poor experiences at this location that are all echoed in the other reviews listed. For awhile we continued to go hoping our experiences would get better, but they didn't. Eventually we just stopped going all together. Here's a summary of the constant issues we'd see: 1. Slow wait times. It didn't matter if there was 1 car or 7 cars in line. It took a minimum of 20 minutes (often longer) to get your order. I've also had multiple times where I'm sitting at the window and no one acknowledges me for 10+ minutes. 2. Service is horrendous. Staff are not only slow but are not friendly or helpful. I went inside and the staff were just taking their time and chatting with each other. One came in out of uniform (I'm assuming she worked there) and made herself a blizzard while there was a line of people waiting for their orders. 3. Cleanliness or lack thereof. I walked into the store and could not believe how dirty and messy it was behind the counter. Ice cream was splattered all over the kitchen and equipment. It looked like the kitchen had never been cleaned. My wife once got chicken tenders from this location and puked it all up later that day. I can't say for sure that it was food poisoning, but I wouldn't be surprised after seeing how they kept the place. We've also had instances where we've ordered a cookie dough blizzard but it had remnants of butterfingers in it. Leading us to believe the machines are not cleaned between making them. In conclusion, I ultimately decided to write this review because we thought about giving this DQ another chance the other day when we were both craving a blizzard. After reliving all the bad experiences and seeing how we weren't alone in all the reviews, we decided to drive further and go elsewhere for ice cream. read more

I convinced my husband to pick up dinner at Prior Lake's Dairy Queen as I wasn't feeling up for cooking. He wanted to go to McDonald's but I insisted that there is an amazing cheeseburger basket, with fries and a small Blizzard for under $7. That is what I paid for the same meal in Victoria at their Dairy Queen. It was 6:15 when he stepped into the empty Dairy Queen store. He also noted there was nobody in the drive up. He thought "Great! We'll have fresh and hot food! Boy was he wrong... The entire store was being run by high school kids. They were complaining about how cold it was in the store and generally standing around. There were no specials that were offered so my husband ordered burgers, fries, and blizzards. He was shocked when the price came to $27.34! He placed the order anyway and the 10-minute wait for the food began. When the counter help gave him the bag that contained the food, she said "Here's your number one and number three. It was told to her "No, the order was for a number three and a number four." She looked helpless and turned back to the grill lead. They were arguing amongst themselves and Chris heard "Well then you totally rang it up wrong!" The Grille lead flapped her arms and walked away. He asked the girl if the order in the bag was correct and she assured him with an "I promise" and he walked out with our meal. We live three minutes from Dairy Queen. By the time he got home, the fries were cold and hard, the burgers were dry, flavorless and obviously old, and the Buns were almost wet. Because we were hungry, we reluctantly ate as much as we could before I decided to make a call to the manager. When I called, the grill lead told me there was no manager on duty and that he would be in the shop by 10 a.m. the next day. I told her my issues, she apologized and said the manager will take care of it. She also offered to remake our meal. I told her "No no no... there's no way I want food. I want a refund." She apologized again and told me Brad would call me in the morning. We will never go back to Dairy Queen again.
