Shake shack is always my go to lunch when I'm in the area or really craving a good burger. Quality is great and consistent. My favorite is the schroom burger, I love the hot cheese oozing out of the mushroom patty. I like it both with or without the beef patty. I usually will try the new menu items because they look really good and usually have some type of deal in the app. I tried the west coast burger and west coast chicken sandwich today and they were ok. I've had better sandwiches from them before. The west coast burger was lacking flavor. The onions were nicely caramelized. The chicken was juicy and crispy, thick avocado and tomato slices on it, it was almost too big to bite. Tons of sauce which made it messy but delicious. I normally never really get the shakes because I try not to overindulge but today it was a hot one so I wanted something that sounded refreshing so I got the mango with passion fruit popping boba. I love that they use tiny popping boba that you can sip through a normal straw. I like that texture so it was very delightful to me. The shake itself didn't have much mango flavor but still delicious. I always order in the app for convenience and it's always ready by the time I get there. Employees are usually very friendly. The fried onions were a nice touch of crunch, but I felt the green onions didn't add much. Overall, the burger was pretty standard but just too salty. The chicken sandwich was a bit better than the burger. The chicken was crunchy, and the gochujang sauce was evident and added good flavor to the sandwich. My only complaint is that the chicken itself wasn't seasoned throughout, so there were moments of bland chicken here and there. The kimchi was just okay. I was shopping at Macy's today at Southdale, starving, and decided to go to Shake Shack. I had only had it one other time at the MOA location and loved it. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries on the app and headed over. It's a really nice store and I'm sure they are very busy. The first thing I noticed is that there were a lot of employees both in and out of the kitchen, could have been shift change, it was 3:46pm when I picked up my order. I sat down to wait bc I was a bit early. All of a sudden I heard a female voice e from the kitchen, yelling to the staff on the line, "I don't want to hear any attitude. If anyone has attitude there's the door," she pointed to the door. I assumed she was a supervisor. Im not sure what went on prior to that outburst but it was still very inappropriate. I've been in a leadership and HR roles for many years and I can't think of a single reason this behavior was appropriate by a manager at any time, especially in front of guests. In this climate, I would have walked out. Any ff chain would be delighted to have any of these staff working for them. I ordered a beer and the id check didn't alert the staff to come check my id. I had to flag someone down. But once they validated, things went smooth. The spiciness of the ShackMeister was not overwhelming and the fries were good. The beer was cold and the shake creamy. Bright lights and plenty of seating. Big screen tvs showing games. Lively atmosphere. A decent meal that was quick and reasonable and satisfied the need. Would go again when the need arises. I've driven by the location several times, heard they had great offerings, but had never given them a chance until recently. First, I ordered them through DoorDash. Everything was packaged well. The cheese fries were great and the cheese sauce was packaged separately as I had marked. This made it great for dipping after I heated it up a bit. I also tried the Chicken Shack sandwich with tomato, onion, and Shack sauce. I'd recommend you try both and especially the Shack sauce. A few weeks later, I ordered pickup for 2. It was ready when we got there and conveniently placed on a rack near the door. I decided to try the Avocado Bacon Burger this time and ordered the cheese fries again. This time, the cheese sauce was already on the fries and was a bit messy in the to-go packaging. I thought I selected to have the cheese sauce on the side but it was still fine on the fries to begin with, just a bit messier than having it separate. The other meal on the order was the Chicken Shack sandwich and regular fries. I was told both were delicious and that they liked the fries by themselves instead of the cheese fries they taste tested from my part of the order. Out of the two orders, I did like the Avocado Bacon Burger a bit more than the Chicken Shack sandwich. The burger will be my first choice when I order again. I also have yet to try their shakes so I'll have to add one to my next order! A free standing Shake Shack outside of Southdale. Contemporary in appearance both inside and outside. Recently a party of six met here for a meal. We shoved together a few tables to accommodate us. I found the place somewhat noisy and conversation a challenge. I had a perfectly acceptable Cheeseburger while others had the ShackStack, traditional ShackBurgers and Bacon cheeseburgers. All were OK and inoffensive. Accompanying my Cheeseburger was a basket of undistinguished truffle parmesan fries. The decent crinkle cut fries were sprinkled with grated Parmesan and served with a small plastic ramekin of bland truffle dipping sauce. The cheese fries that were ordered by someone else were topped with a cheese sauce that looked like what one might expect at a fair or ballpark. The others stuck with the basic crinkle cuts and found them tasty enough. I chose the standard half 'n half which I found was average. One person had the shake of the day and thought it was good but not great. Plenty of free parking. Prices might be a bit high but are probably in line with other similar establishments. Ordinary food that can fill one's stomach and might satisfy an itch. Not worth driving out of your way to get something IMHO. read more

So to start. I'm not a fan of shake shack. I've tried them all over. Nyc, CA, Chicago and many other places. Always find the burgers small and way too salty. But this location in Southdale is the exception. Burger and bun done perfectly. Nice buttery taste and fresh. Not salty at all. The cheese is perfectly melted and the add on ingredients are included for free and taste like they blend in rather than are just add ons. Also the ambience of the location is more upscale than most. I have been a Shake Shack customer for over 10 years since I lived in NYC and frequently went to their original location. I have consistently had good burgers, fries, and milkshakes at this location. When you have kids and everyone is hungry on a Saturday afternoon, the Shack is a great option for quick, filling food that everyone will eat and not complain (too much). They generally get the orders correct without any mistakes. I feel like I am here at least a couple of times a month as they are easy to get to from routes 62, 100, and 494. Lunch?
