The food is good but if only service was better I would actually eat here a lot more often.

It came with three different sauces: beer-infused mustard, tangy barbecue and creamy horseradish. I could have just sat here and ate charred pork and drank beer and I would have been happy. We also got a Caesar salad, which was OK but would have been a bit better if it came dressed -- the dressing came on the side. The wedge salad was good but was less of a wedge and more of a regular salad. Fenwick Farms has a kids menu, which features things like cheeseburgers, buttered noodles, chicken strips and other kid-friendly foods. Each kids meal comes with a side and a dessert (ice cream sundae), although we didn't get our ice cream, but it was fine because my kids didn't need anymore sugar that day. Speaking of kids: They have free arcade games to play! My kids played Pac-Man and NBA Jam while we waited for our food. The Fenwick Farms Brewing Co. beer is made right here at the brewery, and this is the first and only craft brewery in Rensselaer. They have 30 different beers on tap (most their own, some guest beers), and they offer flights. Indiana knows how to do craft beer, and FFBC is another great example of great beer.

It is in an old building and may look closed when you are driving up. There is not official parking for the restaurant that I saw. There is a few spots that you can park that are between it and the park that it is next to, but nothing is marked off. The guy that was working there also happened to be the owner. The restaurant has an indoor dining area and a patio area. The owner was very friendly and very welcoming. He gave me the history of the the restaurant. It roots are in Oregon and he kept the name when he moved the business back to his home town of Rensselaer. The restaurant has a Purdue and Elvis theme, with decorations all over the place. And there is an extra room off to the side where I believe they host special events or may open up if they are busy. They have a menu that consists of pizza, calzones, salads and subs. I decided to do with the philly steak and cheese. It was prepared fresh and was ready in about 8 minutes. It was ok. It was not the best philly I have had and I would not travel miles to get it, but it was decent. The fries were good. I recommend coming here for superior and friendly service, and good food.

Stopped here for a break and lunch while passing through Indiana. The Farmhouse Restaurant menu…read moresaid they offer a "quick & casual lunch" and well, they weren't lying about the casual part... We ordered two lunches, both the 1/2 grilled cheese and soup. One with tomato soup and the other with chili. We also ordered the *special* $5 egg salad sandwich. The grilled cheese came out as some cheese microwaved between a soft burger bun. Really disappointing and crappy. The chili and soup were okay. The egg salad sandwich was very basic and lacking flavor, served on classic white bread. It was also a weird dining setup, it felt like we were eating in a giant and deserted beer hall. Total transparency: we both expected more from one of the nation's largest dairy farms. We also thought the food would be a little cleaner, like a farm-to-table experience and less processed, but it tasted like food we could get at a gas station. My husband was disappointed with the ice cream selection at the milk bar, he was hoping for more of a variety other than the basic strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, etc. We also needed to get DEF for our truck from the Fair Oaks BP and my husband called it "highway robbery" for the cost we paid. He said it was 2 or 3 times what he normally pays. In summary, a total tourist trap with crappy lunch food. I also didn't know about their animal abuse case from 2019 until after we left. And the allegations about neglect and improper slaughter in 2023. Gross and sad.

Hubby ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf without the mushroom gravy. It came out very pale. The bacon was not cooked, fatty and raw. He took one bite and sent it back. He said it was the worst thing he has ever eaten. He asked for the chicken pot pie and it was mediocre at best. Very thin, shredded chicken he did not eat a quarter of it. I ordered the half fried chicken. It came out way overcooked burnt almost and the breast meat was so dry, it would not tear apart. The breading was so dark the oil must be dirty. I pulled all of the burnt skin off. But that cajun gravy that came on the side was amazing. I could've eaten a whole bowl of it. If my husband would not have sent back his meal, I would have sent back the fried chicken. We should have sent back both meals and left at this point in time instead of paying $63 with tip for food that was terrible. The waitress told us when we sat down that all the food was fresh and chef made. We were excited to not have a "Sysco" meal. (Frozen food that come straight off a truck) Since they have large windows into the kitchen my husband watched the kitchen staff. There was one gentleman that kept getting his phone out of his pocket with his gloves on. Probably text and put the phone back in his pocket. He never changed his gloves and was handling food. We will not return. After reading other reviews on Yelp, it looks like the food quality has went down over the years.

FULL DISCLOSURE ... this is not my favorite place to eat. But my wife likes it so I have a go to…read moremeal that I will eat. But more about that in a minute. This afternoon, November 29, 2020 at 4:11 pm, I called in an order: - Individual sausage pizza - 1/2 Stromboli sandwich with fries (today's special) - Large Southern Fried Chicken salad (my go-to meal) The young man who took the order informed me it would be 20 minutes. So I hung up and waited a few minutes befor I headed over there. When I arrived, I put my mask on and went to the door that had the sign I am including with this post, on the door. I specifically says that all customers are required per our Governor's order earlier this month, to mask up. Well, lets start with that sign. It says specifically that the public is required to wear a mask to enter. It says nothing about the employees. Here are my concerns ... 1-Of the 4 employees inside; 1 female wore a mask correctly, 1 female had a well protected chin (mask was not covering her mouth or nose), 2 males had no mask at all. 2-I wish I took a picture of this ... there is no barrier between the customer and the person manning the register --- NOR --- between the customers and the food / pizzas being cut and packaged. You can reach over and grab a piece if you want one! Then came the order! Remember that at the beginning? The clerk tried to charge me $9.95 for an individual pizza they list as $4.99 + $0.50 for the sausage. Then there was the salad ... really the only thing I like on the menu. They gave me a small salad instead. When I called them on it, they were going to give me more lettuce, charge me for a large and I would have to do without the balance of the meat and toppings. My wife's Stromboli was ... different. It was supposed to be 1/2 sandwich and fries. She got that and potato chips as well. The screw up's with the food I can get over. You have to be sure of what you order, what they give you and what they charge. The deal-breaker is taking so LITTLE concern for me and their employees by not providing a barrier between the customer and employees / food. But the most damning part of this all is the completely lax attitude of the employees when it comes to complying with the very order of the Governor of the State of Indiana that they have no problem REQUIRING me to abide by. I am limited to 1 star because Yelp will not allow a "0".

I order thru Door Dash but this isn't their fault, it's Arni's. We stopped in on a Saturday and the young girls couldn't get our order right.
