We visited here on a Sunday morning for a birthday brunch. We had a 10:45 reservation, and were seated a few minutes after we arrived. The service was fine. It was fast and efficient but not overly friendly. The food was very average. Nothing stood out, and the pork was undercooked to our liking. The vibe inside if very nice for a farm theme restaurant. Won't be in a huge rush to return.

My husband and I had been to the Farmhouse Restaurant before and were blown away by the food. Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience this time around. For lunch, the restaurant is setup as a fast casual experience. You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. We ordered the single patty smash burger, French fries, Cuban pork sandwich, a root beer, and a scoop of chocolate ice cream. This cost $40.00! $5.00 for a bottle of root beer is outrageous! The food was not as special as it was on our last visit. The food was not a lot better than what I can get from a McDonald's. From a dairy farm, I exected better. This will be our last stop at Farmhouse Restaurant.

Amazing food and drinks! The chocolate cake changed my life just as the waitress said! The Moscow mules were also very good for any flavor you choose. The steak was cooked well, the charcuterie board for an appetizer was small for 4 people but perfect for 3. They use the cheese that is made from their cows. The restaurant itself was very cute inside with the holiday decor and the big fireplace. The hall is very tall though so it got loud and echoey with a lot of people. The kitchen has a window to see the cooking happening which was interesting to see. Would come back again for dinner!

We were passing through on a family trip and stayed at the Marriott next door, so we decided to stop in for brunch before hitting the road. The place is super spacious with lots of seating and a big cozy fireplace really nice atmosphere. The staff was very friendly, though service was a little slow even though it wasn't super busy. We had the biscuits and egg dish and the apple French toast, and both were excellent! I'd definitely order them again. Next time we're in the area, I'd like to come back for lunch or dinner.

Great spot for comfort food matched with great service! I really enjoyed their brisket chili, cheese curds, and fried chicken with green beans. The portions are pretty big, so you'll most likely have leftovers or a meal to share.

The food was great and it was a nice meeting spot between our family in Chicago and us in Indy! We will definitely come back during the summertime to check out what they have going on when it's warm out!

Self serve fountain drinks needed. Additional staff training needed. Should have an app to order as well.

The grilled cheese is good but I wouldn't say it justifies the price point other than there probably aren't many other options. We went back a few days later on a weeknight as we had to go back to the hotel on property for something and there was no one in there at 6pm. This was a much nicer experience and the guy that took our order also cooked the food and was absolutely the nicest. So, your experience may be relative to when you are there.

I visited the Red Barn Milk Bar after fueling up at the BP next door because nothing says "road…read moretrip" like a gas station snack followed by a dairy detour! I haven't been to Fair Oaks in years, but wow, I'm glad my stomach convinced me to stop. Service is usually 5/5, think Olympic-level milkshake handoffs, but today it felt more like a relay race where everyone forgot to grab the baton. When I walked in, a family of four was waiting for their milkshakes and ice cream. Apparently, the ice cream was being churned by hand or maybe by a cow on break because it took a while. I wandered around and set my sights on a grilled cheese. I hovered at the order counter, channeling my inner cheese magnet, but nobody appeared. So, I shuffled over to the ice cream side, where the same family was still mid-sundae saga. I waited (patiently, like a saint in line for a miracle), but not even a "be right with you!" from the staff. One young lady was making ice cream magic for the family, while another wiped things down with the intensity of someone training for the Clean Olympics, but neither said a word. Two more families came in with their kids; clearly, this is THE spot for a post-gas snack. One of the young ladies finally approached, looking like she'd rather be anywhere else. I ordered my shake (victory!) and, remembering my grilled cheese dreams, asked about it. She told me I had to order at the other counter, so off I went again. Still, no one was there, so I peeked around the pick-up window and spotted someone hiding (maybe from me, maybe from the cheese). Finally, order placed! My small grilled cheese, perfect snack size, was secured, and I headed home, adventure complete. Overall, I'm giving them a 3/5 this trip, mostly for the "Where's Waldo?" staff experience. But normally, service is top-notch, and I'm optimistic it'll bounce back. If you haven't visited, check them out. It's a whole vibe, great for families, plus a hotel, restaurant, and even tours. Where else can you chase a milkshake with a side of mystery and a dash of dairy drama?

The chicas behind the counter are so sweet and patient and kind. The sweets is what was underwhelming. We ordered the fruit mousse. I got the raspberry and my chica got the mango. The raspberry was a TINY bit better than the mango but just the slightest bit. There wasn't any REAL flavor... Benefit of the doubt - perhaps it was an "off" batch but we spent $14 on what felt (and tasted) like nothing. $14 each. And you can read many of my previous reviews. I'm all about spending good money on good food but the food has to be GOOD. So maybe try something else. They had a whole display case of other things you can try. Brownies. Chocolate Bark. Bonbons. Cake. Plates Desserts. Gelato. Crepes and Shakes. Will I return? Probably not. If I did, I would definitely try something else. There's a lot for parking.

The first time I stopped by, my boyfriend and I got the strawberry pastry, cocoa bean pastry, Dubai tres leches, and a Dubai chocolate bear. All together it was about $50, plus an additional 15% tip since it was the lowest set option they gave, there was a custom tip button but I got nervous since the woman was staring directly at me the whole transaction. The pastries were kinda disappointing, not worth the $13 price for each. The tres leches just tasted like wet chocolate cake, also not worth it. My boyfriend isn't picky at all and didn't like them at all, though he still ate them so our money wasn't wasted. The Dubai chocolate bear was the only thing worth eating and had a good crunch to the pistachio, but the price was still absurd. The second time I went, I was hoping for a better experience, but was disappointed again. This interaction was much more awkward, as the girl behind the counter stood at the register the whole interaction and didn't say much of anything to me. I got the Dubai bear again, a slice of nutella kunafa, and a Dubai brownie. The bear and kunafa were pretty good if you're a texture eater, like me. The brownie on the other hand, was stale and lacked cohesion. It was just some pistachio mix sandwiched between two dry brownies and tasted nothing like Dubai chocolate. Overall, it's a cute place with aesthetically pleasing treats, but they aren't worth the price.

Thankfully there were two sandwiches I could do if I made it gluten free by ordering without bread and dairy free by getting it sans cheese! I got the Cuban--pork and ham, pickles, mustard. It was really good! The pork was flavorful and I really enjoyed it (when it's not my go-to). I made it a combo meal and got a side of coleslaw and an unsweetened iced tea. Both were good! They were fairly quick with getting our order out despite it being a group of 5 at lunch time with a decent line of guests. It was a bit noisy in there with so many people, but we were able to have a nice convo and eat before parting ways to head home. There aren't any dairy free ice cream options, not even a sorbet that I saw, which I feel is a missed opportunity on their part. The Cowfé also houses Fair Oaks merch and other gift shop items. Candles, honey, stuffies, magnets, etc. So it's worth a stop before you head out if you want souvenirs!
