This is the last Hot n Now left in existence, BUT I've heard thru the grapevine that they're actually making a comeback and opening more locations! My mom lives here back in Sturgis again... When we would come visit my aunts and uncles, we would stop here, some 30+ years ago, and it's just as I remember it. Being from Reno Nevada, when I come visit my mom, I try NOT to eat here, because I try to stay away from carbs, but I had to give in after an internal 3 day battle. I always forget what I ordered from the last visit, because it's usually years apart. This time (and probably last) I ordered the "Big Hot" with fries. It was perfect and sloppy, just how I like it. The fries were good, and I ordered fried pickles. They were a little greasy but super good. The menu is also very fairly priced. For the trash I would get at 5 guys for just me, I was able to buy 2 combo meals The lady who took my order and money was super sweet. I don't remember what iit looks like inside, and come to think of it, I don't know if I've ever even been! I hope they DO open more! As far as ambiance goes, you can't actually go inside so there's only so much to see but for the most part, the outside of the building seems to be kept up relatively well. But the main thing to comment on is the food. The prices here are really great, especially for what you get, they don't skimp on portions. I had a burger, popcorn chicken, onion rings and French fries. Overall, the burger wasn't my favorite but I've had far worse and the popcorn chicken was fine but nothing to write home about. The fries and onion rings on the other hand were some of the best I've ever had! Our server seemed annoyed from the start--rolling her eyes when we asked a question, then completely ignoring our table the entire time. She never checked on us once even after bringing the food out, she didn't ask if anyone needed anything, instead, she walked away. No drink refills, no "how's everything," nothing. To make matters worse, the food came out wrong, and with no server in sight, we couldn't even get it corrected so we decided to just eat it. I understand that it isn't the servers fault that our food took 42 minutes to come out even though there were 5 other tables in there besides us, but she did not come over to our table one time to check on us or refill any drinks. When asking for a refill, she gave us a big water pitcher with no ice that only had enough for 3 out of 8 of us to refill our drinks. We then asked for other refills for the people that weren't drinking water and she just walked away and disappeared. I had to get up and walk to the bar to get a pepsi for one of the people at the table who didn't have anything to drink. What really crossed the line was when I saw her pointing at us and talking to another server across the room--completely unprofessional and incredibly rude I have never wrote bad reviews as I work in a restaurant and understand the stress, but this level of disrespect and neglect needed to be called out. We are not from here and have eaten here in the past and never had any issues but today was a huge waste of money and time. Our server never once introduced herself when first arriving at our table but she was blonde with glasses. I highly recommend asking for a server change if she fits that description or you'll just be neglected the whole time. I really hope the managers do something about this server as this isn't the only review i've noticed written about her and her service.
