It's OK. Service is a bit slow, and not overly friendly, but not rude either. I always order a medium blizzard with reese's, oreos, and hot fudge at every dairy queen I go to. This lady was so confused about my order! I am not sure what is confusing about it, but I had to explain it to her twice. Oh well. It was good when I finally got it, though! This Dairy Queen may go down in history as being one of the worst franchises that is still operational. Its not fast food, its definitely fan food, fans of waiting that is. If you make the mistake of going through the drive through you will have plenty of time to read the menu twice before being helped, this DQ has this interesting way of only taking one order at a time so that no one in the kitchen gets confused. You won't be able to talk into the speaker until the car in front gets their order. Go inside, at least this way you can drink a gallon of soda while you wait, that is if you don't punch your thumb through the cheap styrofoam cups as I did, at least they gave me a replacement cup free of charge. Fresh grilled burgers take their time, so do flash frying frozen chicken strips, even pushing a button on an ice cream machine is an artistic task that will try your patience, funny that no matter how long your food takes to cook they still under toast the bread. Did you see a cool menu item or promotion on the TV? Keep driving because when the fine print reads "participation varies by location" they are referring to Rhome TX, no free cone or burger for you! Its just like the common phrase, "when in Rhome." Keep in mind that you are stopping in Rhome TX where there is little to no food options. So you must wait. However with the new taco place opening up down the road, and the whataburger 5 miles south, this DQ better get with the times before they get put out of business. Drive 1 mile up the frontage row to Giant Burger, they're much friendlier and the burgers are double as delicious! read more

The highschool kids work here. Tucker Rocky Dist. Has a poker run stop here I helped out with. When I needed to get out if the house, 1 in the sling, 1in the red wagon or stroller and 1 on a bicycle cruising down the little hill to DQ. just watch out for that V ramp! I agree, WORST service ever! Took them half an hour to make my order of 2 things. Saw about 4 or 5 ppl BEHIND me in the drive get their food before me. I went in to complain and all the girl said was " chicken takes longer to cook". Not "sorry" or "I apologize for the wait", just "chicken takes longer to cook" honey I could've cooked my own chicken in that time. This is called "fast food!" This is the second time I've even here. Went there last night, ordered 2 swirl cones and a chocolate cone. They gave us 2 vanilla cones and a chocolate dipped cone. We've been here a couple times and something is always wrong. Is it so hard to remember 3 cones?! It was my daughters first ice cream cone so I was pretty disappointed. We didn't want them to go in the trash so we just took them. I have to agree. Rhome needs a better ice Cream option. Drive through is slow. Wait staff is usually under staffed and rushed to catch up. The place has a smell to it. Like old milk. Dairy Queen - these dear, generic little pit-stops are 'what we like about Texas,' right? We almost always order by drive-through, but the Rhome DQ is looking awful homey and quaint these days with its rolls of paper towels (the hip version of the old standard, paper napkins in metal dispensers) perched atop checked, vinyl table cloths. Cool! The tacos at this location are surprisingly good. My family loves the chocolate and mint chocolate-chip shakes. I enjoy ordering their Southwestern (?) salad, from time to time. I thought the little Christmas tree that they put up this year (decked out with the sweet Santa faces) - positioned so as to be viewed by the drive-through patrons - was a nice touch :) But, oh ... as another reviewer hinted: when their service is slow, and they ask you to pull from the line and park on the asphalt to await your order, and it's about 102 degrees outside - what terrible luck you're having in Rhome, Texas! read more

The customer service was the worst I've seen. Very unfriendly workers. All except one employee was rude. When I was ordering I asked, "do you still do the $5 lunch thing?" And she replied "it ends at 4." Then I ordered my meal and she said, "is that all?!" And I told her I wanted popcorn chicken, and she went on to ask, you want that and a meal?! Umm yes, for my child! Feels a bit petty but I feel like the customer service was less than desirable. I ordered a meal because I wanted some pink lemonade. When I told them about the pink lemonade was out they said I would need to pick something else. They did not have anything else that I wanted so I asked for a refund on the drink and a water glass. I was then informed that the refund would only be a few cents because I ordered with a meal and was going to be charged for water. Don't let me rant on the "charging for mustard". Very disappointed. Awful, horrid place. Had to repeat our order several times because the employee wasn't listening. Then, after waiting 25 minutes in the drive through, they asked us what we ordered. The place needs cleaned up, and the employees (and maybe owner) need to do some more training at other DQ's so they can see how to run the place. Food is great, but when it takes 15+minutes in the drive-through, and the inside line is 10+ deep, it's not worth the wait. It's a shame really, I have tried the place multiple times, thinking maybe it was a one time deal, but it's that way no matter the time of day. I wish the owners would take more pride in the place. The cashier had his shirt unbuttoned to where you could see his chest. I saw him go back to cook the food after he took my order. God help him if I found a hair in my food. I've been here probably a dozen times over the last 8 years. They are terrible. Just when you think they are going to get better, they suck worse. 33 minutes waiting for food in the drive thru... 0 stars from me. My wife and I went through the drive through and ordered a banana split with marshmallow instead of the pineapple, one order of jalitos and a small cookie dough blizzard. They took the order and we paid. When they brought the banana split and the cookie dough blizzard, my bananas were rotten in three areas, not brown but ROTTEN, as in slimy. I tried to get their attention at the window by waving when they were 2 ft from the window and saw me but then turned and ignored me. They also did not give me the jalitos. I went inside and asked for the manager. She asked what was wrong so I placed the split on the counter. she said oh. She refunded the money, gave me the jalitos and remade the split. I left, then I realized that she made it with pineapple, and the blizzard my wife ordered had almost no cookie dough. I was not happy. I drove back to the store and when I walked in the manager said what is wrong. I told her that it should have marshmallow instead of pineapple. She said it does have pineapple, to which I said again it was supposed to have marshmallow. She leaned over on the counter and with sarcasm said I'm sorry. I left the split on the counter and left.
